I chose Dr. Weiler as my physician upon moving to Chicago 7 years ago and every time I see her I marvel at what a truly great choice that was. This time it was an injury to my arm. I misjudged the weight of a crate and ouch, that hurt. I assumed it was a simple muscle strain, but I'm no physician. Dr. Weiler, however, recognized my symptoms as consistent with a more serious injury and, thanks to her and her very professional staff, I had an X-ray, an MRI and saw a specialist, all within four days of my initial visit with her. There's no way I could've achieved all these appointments on my own. It's only because of Dr. Weiler and her staff that I got in to see a specialist that very same week. UPDATE: Within 10 days of that first appointment with Dr. Weiler, I learned I'd suffered a 95-percent separation of my bicep, and had the surgery necessary to correct it. Yes. All within 10 days. If not for Dr. Weiler, the injury I mistook for a simple strain could've very easily become so severe that even surgery wouldn't have been an option. Besides that, the specialist to whom she referred me was among the best of the best. Another win for Dr. Weiler. She's got a lot of those. read more

It's VERY expensive. A one time enrollment fee, close to $200. This does NOT include a separate price for an "office visit" which is $290, which may or may not be covered by insurance. A monthly fee of $30. Your "Co-Pay" fee, which is often $30. A one time visit can cost close to $600. For the care I received, I could have gone to a regular doctor, gotten the same exact results from the labs and paid a one time co-pay fee of $30.00. The monthly fee will be charged regardless of whether you need to see the doctor that month or not. They will not stop the monthly fee unless you "delete" your account with them. I do want to mention that the doctor is somewhat thorough and does take a more holistic approach to healing. That being said, the price I paid isn't worth it on any aspect of healing and good health. Ps: I'd also like to add that while I was being seen, the doctor had a cell phone that kept going off in the room with us. Not OK. read more

disclaimer: my 1-star rating is ONLY attributed to the fact that Dr. Weiler charges a $135 one-time new patient fee that is not coverable by insurance, and that she requires patients to pay a monthly ($20), annual ($200), or "on demand" ($55 billed per visit) membership fee for seeing her. these are also not coverable by insurance. i have a friend who goes to this doctor, and she says this must be new because she was never aware and has never had to pay for these things before. i'm assuming that this change is probably due to all of the insurance changes underway recently, but even so, it's very disappointing! i really want to go to this doctor regularly, but i'm a full-time nursing student working part-time (and when i say part-time i mean once every 1-2 weeks), and i don't know that i could afford those kinds of prices every time i want to see my doctor. ...but i'm wondering if it's worth it anyway? after the initial blow of $135 (for which they do offer a 3-month payment plan), i suppose $55 isn't awful considering the fact that i rarely ever need to see my primary care doctor (maybe once a year, if that). i've heard fantastic things about this doctor and have had the opportunity to see what one of her blood work-ups looks like (for an annual physical), and it's very thorough and complete. i also really like the fact that she spends a long, long time with you because these days, doctors just scoot you and boot you, which leaves me feeling like they may not even realize the full scope of why i'm there. anyway, that's my verbal diarrhea for the day. dr. weiler, let us see you without the crazy fees, please! :) thanks! read more

I love, love, love Dr. Weiler. As strange as this may sound, I almost look forward to doctor visits because I find her such a caring, thorough and SMART medical professional. As others have said, she spends a lot of time talking with and actually listening to you -- getting to know your background, emotional state, and even asks how your home life is (e.g. social circle, good family support system, etc). This is where her LCSW background really shines through, and something I find completely unparalleled in any other doctors I have seen. Her office always makes sure to get back to you quickly as well. For example, I once had to see a doctor ASAP when Dr. Weiler was out of town, so they referred me to her backup. I was called back the same day by her office manager to make sure everything went well (it did!), but also by Dr. Weiler when she got back into town just to check in and see how I was doing. I thought that was so considerate! On a somewhat superficial note, her office is SO adorable. The decor is crisp, clean and inviting, and always feels so much more homey than a sterile office building. I seriously can't say enough good things about Well Integrative Family Medicine -- perhaps I shouldn't say any though, since I worry about the "secret" getting out! read more

Dr. Weiler and her staff are true professionals. I have been in the office twice and both times were great experiences. You pay your co-pay when you first arrive, which I have not experienced in other offices, but it is nice to just walk out when you are done. Dr. Weiler took the time to get thorough background on me as a new patient. When I needed to get an appointment on short notice for a sinus infection, she saw me that day and got me feeling better quickly. I recommend Dr. Weiler for anyone looking for a dedicated professional. read more

I went to Dr Weiler because I had seen her at a previous practice and enjoyed her. This time around it was much different. Initially to get an appointment took a great deal of time. If you need to see a Dr immediately this is not the place to go. Upon arriving at the office I did not see the Dr until 45 - 60 mins after my appointment time. She explained to me that she had an emergency in the office. I spent 20 - 30 minutes with the Dr. She was more interested in my diet, becoming glueten free. I am not overweight, I'm actually in really good shape and have a healthy diet with no stomach issues. It was a strange, annual visit. Walked away with vitamins, told to go gluten free and that was about it. One of my main concerns being the headaches I had been having and they weren't really addressed, my fault in that I did not push to discuss further but I think I was overall distracted by the untimeliness and focus on becoming gluten free. Upon receiving my bill I was billed for 60 mins with the Dr. After having to get a sitter, then making me wait a long time, then billing me incorrectly, I called them. This is not something I would normally do but I felt that on principle I had to. They said they would get back to me, which took weeks. Ultimately they said that the doctor sets aside time for a 60 minute visit so that is how they code, regardless of the amount of time the visit takes. Very disappointing experience overall! This review applies to those who are seeking a pediatrician for their less than six month olds and currently have Blue Cross Blue Shield as their insurance carrier. This doctor does not deserve any stars, that one star actually goes to nurse Amy who is more caring. I don't know about the others who put in great reviews for her, but for me, she's a total scam. I had been looking for a pediatrician and was recommended Dr. Weiler. So I went for my then 4 month old son's first visit. We had to wait for 20 minutes but I considered this normal given almost all doctors are overbooked these days. When we were able to see Dr. Weiler, we had to wait for another 15 minutes in the room and that basically started the entire unpleasant experience. To sum things up: 1. During the visit, Dr. Weiler came in and out of the room three times, one to check on a report that she said was urgent, the other two she was saying that her laptop was running out of battery and needed charging. The entire time my son was naked, but gladly he didn't cry much. 2. My son has eczema, and she suggested two remedies: OTC Hydrocortisone and asked me to cut beef out of my diet. I'm like, really? Hydrocortisone is just a temporary relief and it has long term negative effects and you want me to jump start my son with the worst skin at such a young age? You provided common sense suggestions which led to the next few complaints I have about you. 3. You wrote two referrals for my son to do an ultrasound on his sacrum and a physical therapy to strengthen his neck. This is what I said earlier that you are a scam. At first I bought into your suggestion and called the ultrasound clinic, they said they have no record of referral for my son and they don't perform ultrasound on babies younger than six months old. I took my son to another doctor and he said there's nothing wrong with his sacrum nor his neck. My new doctor suggested much more effective methods to clear out my son's eczema and he totally discouraged any forms of cortisone on babies unless the symptoms were severe. 4. Well, the worst is yet to come, the bill. Shame on you Dr. Weiler! As a BCBS policy holder, you charged my insurance $421 on top of the annual membership of $200 (for baby) plus the one time registration of $165. The amount I owe you after the insurance standard discount is $231, so that means my visit cost me $596! I can tell you that without your nonsense membership and sign up fee, an ordinary doctor charges from $100 to $180 for a baby medical visit to the insurance, now you tell me how you justify that charge without telling me something that I didn't know? And she puts out that long explanation on her website that distinguishes you from other medical practices? She is indeed one of the contributors to the unaffordable health care in this country. 5. As if it's not the worst, I receive no receipt, no bills so I have no idea what the breakdown is and the way to find out is when I receive a notification from BCBS that I have a new claim. So do not go to this doctor for your babies, she's not even close to be good. read more

I found Dr. Weiler after reading reviews on Yelp. I'm glad I found her. I hate going to the doctor for many reasons. My biggest problem with them is they don't seem to want to take their time with you. You end up waiting in their office for an hour to talk to the doctor for 10 minutes. This definitely isn't the case with Dr. Weiler. I've visited her maybe a half dozen times now, and every time I'm there I am attended to promptly at my appointment time, and the doctor takes her time with me. As the other reviewers have mentioned, she sees her patients as people and not customers or a series of symptoms. I can't overstate how much it means to me that she takes her time when I'm in her office. Her staff is very friendly, competent and polite as well. The best review I can give her is to say that as long as I live in Chicago, I will not seek out another GP. read more

I am pretty healthy but, even so, I feel that we have begun to develop a plan together to target certain nutritional deficiencies so that as I head well into my middle age (and crone years!), I can do so with even stronger roots and limbs. Dr. Weiler is extremely helpful! She is caring, thorough, smart, and professional at all times. She spends a lot of time going through your entire background, your concerns, your and your family's medical history, and your current life situation so that when you do have concerns, she is able to address them in context and give you solutions that actually work for you. The only reason I am giving her 4 stars instead of 5 is that I had to wait a long time when I got to my appointment, and it also usually is hard to book an appointment immediately, even if you're ill. I think she has a lot of patients and fills up fast, which is fine, except sometimes you need to be seen right away. She charges WAY too much!! AND, the office is NOT upfront about how much you will be charged!! There is the one time membership fee, the yearly fee and then the doctor's visit fee!!!!! I could deal with 2 of the 3, but all three make this the most ridiculously overpriced visit ever. I took my 6 month old to see her, and was charged over $500 for what other fancy doctor's on the north shore are charging under $200. Absolutely ridiculous. They never told me there would be another charge after the one time fee and the yearly membership fee. We have had no trouble finding a better doctor who charges way less. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Weiler's when she practiced at Comprehensive Wellness Care--and when she took some time off to have her baby I tried two different primary care doctors--and they both paled in comparison to Dr. Weiler. Many doctors will sit you in a sad room alone for 20 minutes before they even realize you're there...and then spend 5 minutes with you, diagnose you with something you know you don't have and leave. Dr. Weiler takes the time to get to know who you are and doesn't just treat the symptom you're having...she treats the underlying cause of the problem and works to actually figure out what's going on with you. I'm so happy she has her own practice now and I look forward to being her patient again. I highly recommend her (and Celeste-her nurse is great too!) read more

She's alright. She claims to be a better well-rounded doctor but doesn't tell you that you get charged extra for things. If you have good insurance that will pay for all sorts of things, it works but if not, you could be screwed. She ordered a special blood test for me that my insurance will not cover. I've never had cholesterol issues so I felt like a standard test would be adequate but she wanted to do this special test and then I got stuck with a $200 plus bill because it's a procedure not covered by insurance. read more

I have read all the reviews and found a lot of patients raving about the doctor's listening skills, patience, and kindness, however, only a few -if that many- stated that the physician actually helped them to achieve healing or significantly improve their health. I also observed that her fees have doubled over the past couple of years. She now charges $425 for an initial office visit, up to $350 for additional office visits. In addition, she has the audacity to force patients to pay a membership fee to have access to the facility and staff, which they have during office visits. If you're going to charge your patients a membership fee, why not take the practice public so potential patients can become shareholders and realize a real return on their investments? Anyone so bodacious to charge so many high fees should be willing to offer a guarantee or your money back. This is why functional medicine, naturopathic medicine, and integrative medicine practitioners aren't accessible to most Americans. These practitioners can no longer justify their outrageous fees by accusing the insurance industry of not covering all of their services. They merely tell prospective patients that they are out of network; so, patients assume their insurance company won't cover the services. But, the fact is most practitioners choose not to accept any form of insurance because they can earn a h... of a lot more money by directly charging patients extremely high fees, which would be significantly lower and more affordable through the insurance market. This is how they rob patients, but they can get away with it as long as we are willing to pay. read more

Dr. Weiler is the kind of doctor you want. She spends the time with you and you never feel rushed. I like to try a lot of alternative treatments and she is very supportive of that but does bring her Western training to the practice, too. Even though I do not need to see her often, I feel her "membership" fee is worth it. There is so much that insurance doesn't cover for doctors now, that I have no problem with it. I needed a form filled for a volunteer position and she did it fast and with no problem and no extra cost. (Some doctors charge $40 if you want a form signed.) I took my aged mother-in-law to see her. She has had such digestive issues for years and just gets pills thrown at her. Somehow Dr. Weiler got her to agree to a total elimination diet and my mother-in-law began to feel the positive results after two days and understand that her eating habits cause much if not all of her problems. Our food is really our medicine. My mother-in-law told me that she liked Dr. Weiler and that she cared and listened to her. You don't find that feeling with many doctors today as they are so rushed with their corporate model of medicine. Her office is calm and simple with beautiful canvases decorating the walls. read more
