UPDATE from my YELP I did on 8/16/22: Finely after problems from 2017 with our gutters it seems to be corrected as of 10/17/22. We did have to have them back out after they converted our California gutter to a standard gutter system and paid extra to do so (witch I did not think we should have but wanted to get it done). Seems the crew that came out for the conversion did not complete the ends and they had to send out someone else to complete it. They crew they sent out to install the gutters did a great job and they did not have to come back to redo anything. I guess the real test will be when we have a good rain. Hopefully I do not need to update this update. read more

ONE MISHAP DUE TO WEATHER. But, The Forman came out at 11pm and his crew worked until 1:30 am to rectify the situation. I would like to note that none of my neighbors heard them either. Other than that mishap, The crew worked at a quick pace. They were very thorough, and even asked me if I would like to do more than what the inspector quoted. The crew and Forman said it would be better to minimize any future wood damage due to our climate. I agreed with them and I got a call very soon afterwards from the head office to have a PO adjustment. All and all, I am very impressed in the quality of material, as well as the little extras here and there that the crew performed. Short version: Terrible experience with the sales rep put the company out of the running after a issuing a proposal that was squarely a front-runner for asphalt roofing options. Long version: After what seemed like a shortened hard sell, by their sales representative after I mentioned my dislike for hard sells, I received a decent if very slick proposal document. I then received a call 1 week after the visit and proposal offer. I indicated we're waiting on other proposals. The sale rep then offered to call back the following Monday. I indicated that would be acceptable. The call was not pleasant. I received an earful of complaints that he wouldn't waste his time calling possible customers back and we were unfairly delaying his precious time 2-3 weeks. He also indicated he would add another $1000 to the cost after the phone call and each additional day of delay. That was the end of the conversation from our end and put the company, which was squarely in the running, out of the game. read more

Short story: the product (Valor) is ineffective against pine needles and the company dragged their feet for a year and a half before giving up completely. A serious waste of money and lots and lots of time. Just don't take any chances with them! Long story: In the summer of 2017 they installed Valor gutter protection on my house, promising it works just as well with pine needles, and only needing the occasional brushing off of leaves. Turns out it doesn't: pine needles start getting stuck through the mesh holes, blocking even more needles from leaving the gutter, and causing significant water overflow from the gutter to the wood below--exactly what the product was supposed to prevent. Brushing needles off is very challenging from the ground floor, because the brush forces some needles further into the mesh, and the height difference makes the whole operation wobbly and clumsy. I would have been better off without any gutter protection at all--at least the gutter cleanings would have been easier! Soon after the problems began (winter of 2017), I started a long saga of service calls. Calls were rarely returned and often contained unfulfilled promises for a service visit. It grew even worse sometime around 2018 when the company stopped operating in OR. Eventually, one of their crew (Mike) came to take a look and determined I needed the "small" mesh size. Their operations manager at the time, Don, agreed to schedule a replacement visit. What followed were months and months of futile calls to try to get it scheduled. At least four of the people I spoke with had since left the company (a warning sign on its own!). Once I was promised a visit on a specific date, I stayed home from work, but they never came. Eventually, after a year and a half, a crew came. All they did was blow the debris off the gutters (making a huge mess in the process). They claimed to have no knowledge or instructions about replacing the mesh size, and in fact the company doesn't even make or sell that size anymore. I tried to get a hold of Don again, but guess what? he was out of the company too. The manufacturer also hasn't returned my calls, but I noticed in their smallprint that they only warranty the workmanship anyway, they don't guarantee it works. At that point I just gave up. It was just too many hours of my life wasted in frustration, and wasn't worth pursuing anymore. All I can do is try to help the next person avoid this misfortune. read more

We chose Gutter & Roof Solutions NW for our re-roof on our 25 year old home and we're glad we did! From the initial sales contact (Thank You Keenan Wiggans-Moore) to the clean-up and finish it was a stress-free and wonderful experience. Our house is two story 2700 sq. ft. and it took them one day to strip the old roof and complete the installation of the new barrier material. By the end of the second day (about 6 hours) they had finished installing the new roofing including all vents, etc. Clean-up was very thorough as they went around the home many times making sure all dropped material was removed. We had gutters and valor gutter guards installed on a lake home in 2016. 2 lines of gutters had to be redone because they were installed improperly the first time (identified by their worker who came out to troubleshoot why rain water was shooting off our roof and not being collected in the gutters). Christian and his team were great to work with. I appreciated the information to choosing the roof. I had seen 7 other companies and Christian made sure I get the roof that is right for my house (with the Dormers, angles and slope). Ultimately the warranty not just on materials but also Labour closed the deal. And the price was competitive too. Scheduling was great. We had to reschedule 2-4 times because I had still work done and couldn't stick to my schedule because the weather was so wet. It all worked out perfectly in the end. We got the date scheduled and the crew showed up. Weather was good. It was a 2-3 day job, with the last day being mostly clean up and checking that gutters and everything was in place. I will use Christian and his team again soon for the last dormer we are building and can recommend them without any hesitation. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but potential customers deserve to know about my experience with NW Gutter & Roof Solutions. First, I need to preface that I cannot write about my two-month ordeal with trying to get them to even come to my house to perform the work, as they have given me a credit for my inconveniences in having to take off from work and extremely poor communication and coordination on their end. This review is about their complete lack of workmanship and quality regarding their work, along with their lack of professionalism and courtesy to the customer. Supposedly, their 'best crew' was to come out to my house, as they were the ones experienced in removing the old PVC gutters installing new aluminum gutters for the patio front fascia. This was also the crew that was experienced in getting up on the roof to service the gutters and install the Valor gutter guards around the house. First, the crew used our lawn hoses to hose down the gutters. The hose in the backyard had holes in it from our dog, and instead of using their own hoses, they asked me for tape to patch it up. You can hear them laughing and joking around as they did the work. Soon enough after they took their lunch break, they leave! Without saying anything to me, the customer! I was left waiting in the house, not knowing if they were finished or not. I walked around the house to inspect and they left mud everywhere, even mud on top of the gutters! They left one long brush out in the front entrance and a brush on top of the patio roof (which I can't get to). The ends of the gutters now covered by the Valor guards did not have the end pieces installed, thus allowing debris inside the gutters from the wind! One end of the gutter guard was not screwed down, thus flapping in the wind! The gutter in front of the house was still overflowing after a rainstorm a day later! The one that tops the cake is that the gutter guard extends out the length of the gutter! Do these people even get training?!?! This is the company that sells you on their 'performing a full gutter service and tune up' before installing the gutter guards. No. This was a 'slap 'em in and get out' type of work. I have been misled and deceived. It took them even more weeks to schedule out another crew. This time they said it really was their best crew. The crew that came out to the house said they are the ones that have to come out after the initial crew to fix their mistakes. How unprofessional is this?! All issues were resolved, as far as I can see from the ground, however they left some overspray which at this point I just wanted them out and be done with them. One of the crew members from the second crew told me they get paid for completing a job, which leaves no insensitive to do quality work. Slap 'n run! For having spent THOUSANDS of dollars on this, you expect exceptional work. Not. I regret my experience with NW Gutter & Roof Solutions. Honestly, they should not be doing business. read more

My previous review (negative in nature) seems to have been removed by someone(???), so I will re-post with additional details. I would recommend that all potential clients of this company consider their performance on our home before signing a contract with them. We are writing this review to clarify the items we find defective in regards to the installation of the Valor gutter guard product on our home. The work was performed in June/July, 2018 at a cost of $14,348. We met with a sales representative in April, 2018. He inspected the gutters and made a detailed diagram of the gutter system on our home. He was informed that our home was recently completed new construction. We agreed to the work contract and work was completed over June/July of 2018. At no time during the sales process was it noted that the existing metal roof or gutter system would not perform as reasonably expected. After the first rainfall following installation and identification of multiple defects a follow up visit was performed in September 2018. Representatives from Gutters and Roof Solutions inspected the installed product and identified several defects: 1. The initial install used different mesh gutter guard sections. Their representative mentioned that the large mesh sections would not perform the function of keeping debris from entering the gutter system. 2. They simulated a light rainfall using a garden hose and it was video recorded. It was clear to all of us that the product had a major problem as water spilled out onto our patio and into the flower beds. The water spillage occurs at multiple locations surrounding the home. 3. They inspected the area on our driveway and took pictures where the inside and outside miter joints were causing water to over spill the installed gutter and causing damage to our driveway paver system and water spray onto the garage door. We have been forced to catch the water over spill using a garbage can to avoid serious damage to our driveway paver system. It is clear to all of us that the Valor gutter guard system is incompatible with our existing metal roof and gutter system. The installation has created a serious water damage circumstance for us and is harmful to our new home. We were expecting just the opposite... read more

We had Gutter and Roof Solutions come out to put on Valor Gutter Guards in May of 2018. They were fantastic until the rain started that fall. The rain is now bypassing our gutters and going directly to ruining our decks and concrete. I have sent multiple emails and calls and was finally told that they will start charging $199 for each call. It's a very expensive mistake as we had to redo our deck and may need to redo more in addition to having to remove the problem gutter guards so that the rain will go into the gutters. We had Valor gutter covers installed in Oct of 2017 by this company. Everything was great until we noticed birds nesting in ends of our gutters. We called them and they sent a crew out to fix the problem within days. They engineered, with the help of my husband, a solution to this problem so I'm expecting all is perfect now. I give them 4 stars, one less than five because of their excellent response to a problem created by an insufficient installation. Thanks to the good guys who fixed our problem. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Paid $15K for 500' of gutter guards. We had gutter guard work (Valor system) performed on our new home construction in July, 2018. The crew that performed our work installed it improperly and now water spills over the gutters. It is an absolute mess. Management has refused to refund our money or try to make reasonable corrections. We had a followup call and a different installer told us that the original install was performed improperly...and should not have been installed on our house. The initial installer used multiple (and different) screen mesh pieces and all of the inside miter joints allow water to spill into the flower beds and driveway. We had many contractors working on our home prior to selling, including roofers, furnace, hot water heater, kitchen, radon mitigation, and gutters. Your gutter company is the only one I would not recommend. From start to finish, we had such a poor experience, that at times it literally brought me to tears. Each interaction--from calling the office to scheduling appointments to the actual work-- was done in a half-assed manner that required me to constantly follow up. Our roofer ended up fixing the horrible gutter that was installed above the front door, and commented that he'd never seen such a bad job. We had so many leaks after the first rain that the gutters hardly made any difference, especially since one of the downspouts was installed backwards! After reading your many other poor reviews, I feel like a schmuck for choosing your company, as there is clearly a pattern of shoddy work and poor customer service. read more

Worst work ever; Installers don't show, and the operations managers never answer their phones.

The salesman came out, had to listen to him 5 hours of him going over and over the features and benefits of Valor, didn't know when to shut up. Then when they came to install, they couldn't do the whole job because the truck was broken down. The lead installer quit and the flunky didn't know how to do the job right. It took several trips with days in between to 'finish' the job, which didn't get finished right. They sent a kid out to fix a leak and it he bad mouthed the guys that did the install and he left and the gutter still leaked on the next rain. After time went by and a good rain, the downspouts were plugged and the gutter over flowed. Then when I got on a ladder to clean an area that was a problem I found that they had left out a 6 inch section without a piece of the Valor material. Sent an email to the head office in Seattle and never got a response. Don't buy anything from them, you will be disappointed. Buy the high priced competitor, you'll be happier in the long run. Wish Yelp would allow a zero rating. read more
