Since I recently graduated, I no longer require the specialty services of an MBA accountant. My wife has been using Tom's services for the past 3 years without issue. She recommended that I reach out to Tom as well so I decided to give it a shot. In the beginning, Tom was very responsive. After the initial quote was provided, I decided to move forward and proceeded to upload all of my documents. Fast forward a month, we received an email from Tom on 3/22/2020 asking for a service agreement document to be signed. Because we did not respond with a signed document within 72 hours (3/25/2020), Tom refunded our money saying it was a business risk. Unbelievable. If you do end up working with Tom, I'm sure his services are great. That being said, Tom needs to learn how to be a better professional.

He misspelled one of our names and put the wrong address on our tax return, basic information that should absolutely be correct. When we asked to sit down with him for a few minutes to review everything and make sure it was accurate, he flat-out refused and became immediately nasty. At that point, we asked for our check back so we could have our taxes done elsewhere by someone who would actually give us the time of day. He told us he had already cashed it, so we asked him to write us a check. He did but then, as he was handing it to us, he pulled it back to make a copy. He then handed us the copy and sarcastically asked why we would need a copy of a check. When we said because he handed it to us, he responded, "Yeah, because I wanted to see how little you pay attention." It only got worse. He told us the only reason he agreed to do our taxes was because of who our family is, and that we couldn't possibly be related to them because we are "too stupid." When we reminded him that we were there because he made mistakes and that he should be apologizing instead of belittling us, he said "I don't apologize". Completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable behavior, especially from someone handling something as important as your taxes. There is a reason this firm has so many one-star reviews. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

We were still not satisfied as no advice of any kind was provided, only an excel spreadsheet that looks likes a bad version of TurboTax from 2 decades ago, Jonathan then changed his mind and offered to reimburse only 50% of our payment knowing that no service was still provided at this time other than 5 minutes over the phone to confirm a couple of accounting points we already researched for.
