For an airport eatery, this place has it going on. And what's not to love about Guy Fieri?! I think part of his charm is that he's obnoxious. The restaurant screams loud, brash American in the busy Cancun airport. They have three sides: burgers, pizzas, and sandwiches. I was happy to see a few vegetarian options on the menu. You can get a margherita pizza, veggie pizza, or homemade veggie burger. I got the veggie burger and Vegas fries. The burger was a black bean patty and it was piled with tomato, onion, lettuce, and pickle on a brioche type bun. A huge plus is that the patty tasted fresh and it did not fall apart. I would have liked it a bit more seared though. The bun was delicious and I think worked great with the veggie option. I think it would have trouble holding up to a juicy beef patty. The Vegas fries were interesting and I'd order them again. They're huge spiral cut seasoned fries tossed in buffalo sauce and piled with blue cheese and shredded carrot and celery served with blue cheese sauce. The flavor was intense and not too spicy. The onion rings had a strange chemical taste to the batter, the fries were cold, and the grilled macaroni and cheese was only grilled on one side. They also forgot our pepperoni pizza then gave us a hard time about even giving us the pizza once they had finally made it. Upon getting to the terminal and getting our bearings it was apparent that even though I had just spent the last week at a fancy all inclusive I some how did not eat enough food. A sort of bean tasting thing that even the most ample amount of creamy donkey sauce goodness couldn't save... The fries were good and had a light dusting of what tasted like BBQ flavor that is found on BBQ chips. I think I found out the secret! There are three mini restaurants in one big Guy F Cluster F of a design. You have to line up in the sandwich line of you want that, or pizza line, or like me the burger line! Do I recommend? Nope. Stopped here to eat while waiting for our flight. Had a wide variety to choose from on their menu (salads, pizza, burgers, chicken, etc.). We were seated and had a waiter come serve us which I think is new for the area we were in. I'm this section I believe you usually just wait on line, place your order, and seat yourself. However I think this is easier for them to help maintain everyone's health and safety during COVID times. Our server actually gave us hand sanitizer as we sat down as well which was nice. The food was pretty good and our waiter was so nice. If your in the airport I'd recommend giving them a try. I came across one of his joints at a Mexican Airport, and I made sure to juggle things around between checking-in and boarding, to spare few minutes and go try Guy's food! The sandwiches were mostly Mexican influenced which is expected being at a touristy area/airport. We were a group of 4, we ordered the following sandwiches: The big OG Italian, which has a mix of coldcuts, salami, ham, beef, etc... (this sandwich is 4/5) The Nor-Cal, which has turkey, avocado, bacon, tomato, etc... about 3/5 Buffalo Chicken, which has pulled chicken, blue cheese, buffalo sauce, etc..4/5 Bird is a word, they forgot this sandwich of mine and gave me another deli sandwich instead! I was very excited to try it, it includes 2 breaded chicken tenders, ranch dressing, etc..and it was the most expensive one at $190 pesos!! Not my cup of tea! Ordered a regular burger and onion rings , i don't know about you but I don't like my buns sweet. It tasted like the Hawaiian bread and the burger didn't have flavor. The onion rings are served in 5 maybe 6 pieces and aren't that great as well. Food was bland. I will say we were excited to try Guy's place. Great menu and very cool descriptions. We love watching the DDD show and since Guy has high standards we figured of course his food must ROCK. And yes, this location is at the Cancun airport so expectations are generally lower to start. So net-net the "Sammich" was not bad but really not to the level I would think Guy would bring. I could not help but think it really was just a regular fast food joint with Guy's name slapped on it. So what advice would I give guy . Simple: 1) Bread in Mexico is awesome. Please source the best airy & crunchy rolls found locally, 2) meat & LTOP should be end-to-end on the roll. It is a poor experience when first and last bite is all bread, 3) One grade up on the chicken quality. It seemed more a thin patty slice which tends to be dry and more spongy. The service was quick. The tables were spaced apart from one another and looked clean. I had the #1 which was a burger with bacon and Mac & cheese, fries with cheese/bacon and my wife had a salad. The fries were a decent size serving and tasted great. They weren't super hot but it definitely did the trick. The burger was delicious although it was pretty well done. I ordered the cheapest pizza, which is the cheese pizza... And even then the exchange rate turns out to be about $10. And it's more of a flatbread shape, an oval instead of a circle. There are four types of cheeses included, but these ingredients seem minimal. There's not much flavor, nor in the sauce, and the dough has less flavor...the crust is almost burnt on the bottom. I was honestly just hungry and American food sounded good after eating Mexican food for a week. Also, it was the food spot with the longest line so I figured it was my best bet at some decent food. I got a cheeseburger and fries. It blew my mind!! For any LA people reading this...it wasn't that far off from in n out. When you first walk into the restaurant it's very confusing, it appears that you order your food at the counter and pay like a regular fast food restaurant. We found a seat and the people next to us suggested we wait because there was also table service if we wanted. So we sat, and waited, and waited some more...it was pretty busy there. Finally a gentleman came with menus and took our beverage order. This restaurant actually has 3 areas with different food choices. They have burgers, sandwiches and pizza. From what I saw other people eating, the food looked tasty and portion sizes were decent. After 10 days of eating at an all inclusive resort, all I wanted was a really good pizza and this place did NOT disappoint. Hubby and I got 2 pizzas and we shared them. We ordered a Guy-talian and a pepperoni. We received our drinks and waited, then we waited some more. Good thing we had plenty of time before our flight boarded! The pizza finally arrived. It looked and smelled delicious! The crust was thin and had a good chew without being tough or overly crunchy. The amount of toppings were what I would expect on a thin crust pizza, neither generous or skimpy. The flavours were very good, and pretty typical but I wasn't blown away. Garbage food. This is the second Guy Fieri place we have been to and they were both bad. Overpriced too, even for airport food.

So after a few days of nonstop guac and chips, I was SO excited to see a burger joint at the airport. I ended up getting the veggie burger (minus the donkey sauce) and the fries (without toppings). The veggie burger is bad. In the age of 2018 and the impossible burger, the veggie patty here is shameful and is probably what gives 'mock meat' a bad name. The patty is large by just crumbled apart, making it very difficult to eat - but the taste was the killer, there was no taste to it! The only redeeming part of my meal was that I thankfully ordered fries. The fries were pretty damn, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't skip the mcdonalds drive thru for these fries, but in comparison to the burger they were heaven sent. And the worst part was I ended up spending $20 on this meal..whomp whomp whomp. She got the Mediterranean pizza (more of a flat bread) that was hand-tossed and covered in fresh vegetables (peppers, tomatoes, onion, spinach and olives) and was VERY reasonably priced at only $8 USD. Food selection is huge with Flavortown classics for everyone that were MASSIVE in portion size. Most restaurants have photos of their food which are the equivalent of "Glamour Shots" (look WAY too good to be true). This place the photos way UNDERESTIMATE the food. They forgot the bacon on my burger then the server touched the bun with his hands and had the cook slap bacon on there. Disgusting. The bbq chicken pizza was bland. Three stars?! No way. Always in a rush when we get to airports - I don't know what happens between leaving the house/hotel and boarding but despite always leaving in plenty of time, time just seems to evaporate inside an airport. And young kids just add to the pressure. Anyway, same story here - left the hotel four hours in advance and got to the airport with three hours until departure. Thought we had buckets of time but didn't reckon with a nightmarish check in process and by the time we got through security we had just one hour left. Now, on past experience, that would leave us with half our lunch in to-go containers as we ran flat out to the gate with our names being called over the loud speaker. Not here though! Waiter gave us a menu as soon as we sat down, took our orders not three minutes later, brought us the food and to-go containers with a bag to carry it all in in one go. Got the order perfectly right and was extremely efficient and helpful. Was it expensive? I don't know. Probably. We'd just come from spending $92 on three bags of candy from the convenience store over the way though so we were probably a mix of shell-shocked and resigned. And the food was great - quick, tasty and hot. Was it the best pizza I've ever had? No. Was it the best pizza I've had in an airport? Oh, absolutely.
