This is my very first time giving a 5 star to a restaurant inside an airport. My experience with airport restaurants has been less than stellar... scratch that; it's been horrendous haha. But Bubba Gump in the Cancun airport is a diamond in the rough. The fried shrimp comes out hot, crispy, and golden brown every time (been here twice so far when visiting Mexico). The Coke Zero from the fountain is extra carbonated for some reason... my friends and I were stunned and kept asking for refills. Good place to stop by if you have some time before your flight! Plenty of food and drink options to choose from. Everything is pricey but that's pretty much expected at an airport restaurant. This place is super expensive. entrees are at least 25usd and you have to pay for water. about $7.50 for bottled water. Tap water isnt an option which makes me worried about how clean the salads are. service is prompt and friendly but I wouldn't come here unless you're ready to drop $30+ a person before your flight. fried seafood was good we had coconut shrimp . it came with 8 shrimps and we just ok. breading was light but it wasn't crispy when it came out. Fries were better. We didn't eat the cole slaw. Overall, food was ok. prices were high. lack of tap water makes all uncooked food questionable. I probably won't return read more

Lowkey was so pleasantly surprised at this airport experience. I never review places at airports but I'm often checking yelp to see what's good. Bubba Gump was actually good. My server was so sweet and came pretty quickly. I got the fish and chips, which were shockingly very good. Like I have no idea if the fish was fresh, but the breading was flavorful and crispy, tartar sauce was yummy, and coleslaw was solid. Portion was very generous. For airport food, this is probably some of the best I've had. Definitely the best option at the Cancun airport. read more

I wanted to like this-I've had good experiences at other Bubba Gump locations, but this one was rough. We were greeted and taken to a table immediately by the friendly hostess. Not long after, our cheerful server stopped by and asked what we'd like to drink. Everyone was pleasant and treated us well. The food, however, was not as positive. I ordered the accidental fish based on the picture on the menu-it looked delicious. However when I got it, there was a lot of melted butter/liquid on everything. The flavor was horrible. I tried a few bites, but ultimately couldn't eat it and ate my wife's food instead. Luckily the portions were generous, so we could both share her dish. Looking back, I probably should have mentioned something to my server, but I would also expect that he'd notice that I barely ate anything and should have asked if it was ok. I'm not giving up on Bubba, but I'll try a different menu item next time. read more

If you are in need of a meal in the Cancun airport, this place is friendly, fast, efficient, and tasty! The restaurant is huge and crowded, but we still got a table right away and a waiter took our order as soon as we were ready. Food was out in 10 minutes or less. I did appreciate the tv screens within our view, so we could easily see updates on our flights. The coconut shrimp was a highlight, and do yourself and get extra aioli to dip everything in. With how busy the airport was and only having a few food options, we were prepared for a nightmare. But this was delightful, and was a fun nostalgic experience! read more

Although I've passed Bubba Gump Shrimp Co many times and have always wanted to go, this was my first time. In the Cancún Intl Airport location, it was still very nice with a sizable gift shop which I didn't get to peruse unless I wanted to miss my flight. **Narrator: she did not want to miss her flight.** My meal was just right, with one exception; I needed more! I don't know what the buttery-garlicky -sauce? Gravy? Cream? Nah, not cream- was. I just know I didn't have enough of it. The fish and shrimp were cooked well, not overcooked or rubbery. Other items ordered were the seafood hush puppies that were great, minus the CORN ‍. Drinks were well made, not watered down. The garlic butter bread had a very spoiled taste. When I told the server that it tasted spoiled she told me that it was too late to return it even though I wasn't looking to return it, just wanted to give the kitchen a heads up. The breading on the fish was very oily making it inedible. The fries tastes freezer burnt. Service was okayish. Virgin drinks costed almost 15 dollars and gave me a stomach ache. This was unexpectedly awesome! We were flying out of Cancun, and my partner needed chicken tenders after a week at a resort with no chicken tenders. Unfortunately, it appeared that neither Jimmy Buffett nor Guy Fieri's establishments served then. When we asked Bubba Gump's host, she assured us we were in business. The chicken tenders had a really great light fry on them with nice white meat underneath. The fries were also a perfect crispiness. Typically sit-down restaurants in airports are meh at best, and Bubba Gump impressed in this regard. However, what really made the meal was our server, Rafael. He stopped by several times to quiz us on the movie, and showed off the various movie memorabilia around the restaurant. I like the table feature that they added to alert them if you need help so any available server can assist you. The decor was very bubba gumpish as it should be and I loved it! We had some time to kill since our airline was delayed (again) so we decided to try to get a beer and some fish n chips for the long wait. A nice hostess sat us straight away and within a few seconds, a nice server came to ask if we needed any drinks. Yes, and Please! Abeer for me and a blueberry strong lemonade for the mad Russian ( my wife). If you ever need service, simply flip the license plate over to say, "STOP", and the next passerby will assist you. The service is appropriately fast for your occasion. They accommodated several different sized parties. But if you're a larger family, it may be best to just split up so that you all can be in and out (and so the servers can bring you your correct order). I got the trusty fish and chips and my wife had the shrimp and chips with a house salad. Both came out snappy and we flipped our table sign back to blue (red means you want a server to stop...but your already knew that. My wife had the chicken tenders and fries, and I had the Texas chicken sandwich and fries. The fries were great, and both our chicken meals were very good. We needed a place to hang out and have lunch while we tried to pass the time before our flight. We only waited a couple of minutes then were offered a seat at the bar which we gladly took! My husband and I split the grilled chicken sandwich and the shrimp mac n cheese. The chicken was very thin on the sandwich but had enough toppings (bacon, guacamole, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato) to still make it feel filling. The fries were my favorite part! The mac n cheese was tasty with just the right amount of cheese. They also had breadcrumbs on top! The shrimp were full pieces of shrimp, I feel like it would've been better if they were cut up a bit and mixed in more. The food came out quickly and service was good. This is without doubt the worst place to eat or drink anything. Absolutely no Covid protocols. Customers sitting on top of each other with NO real cleaning in between guests! Other airport restaurants are at least trying to maintain cleanliness. Do: request that your table and chair be cleaned. Horrible!!! read more

Such poor service, disappointing! Walked in just to grab a drink before our flight....only 3 people at the bar, about 10 seats and 3 bartenders. Took about 3 minutes for one of them to bring a menu, decided on a beer after about 30 seconds and then proceeded to watch the 3 bartenders talk wjth each other for about 8 minutes....never looked up, never asked for our order. Finally a waiter saw that we had been sitting for a long while and asked if he could help us....gave him the beer order and he went over to the bartenders and placed the order.
