They also have a full dinner menu in the dining room as well as a speakeasy bar hidden behind the wine shelves near the hostess stand. The staff was fantastic, per usual at the JW. The breakfast Buffett was massive and had options for everyone. Indian, Chinese, American, Mexican, and more. Made to order egg stations for quick omelets as well. The tacos for dinner were delicious at the speakeasy and the 2 free cocktail coupons in my room were perfect. We never had an issue getting a table at any time of day. read more

Sorry. I have the palette of a 12 year old. Which means for the churros alone they get five stars. Yes, the place is clean and pretty with a pool view, and the service is extra attentive (like, "don't try to give a piece of bacon to the weirdo at your table who didn't order buffet" attentive), and they have an omelette station, and the great coffee and fresh juice was included, but, yeah, it's all about the churros. Oh yeah, do NOT take grapes from the buffet and feed the iguanas outside. Grapes are not part of their natural diet, and you will totally regret the awesome picture opportunities. read more

Pretty decent morning buffet with fresh omelettes made to order and a variety of options for breakfast. My wife's favorite was the salmon lox, but my kids really enjoyed traditional French toast and sausage. I really liked the JW omelette with added tomatoes and mushrooms. The mangos were probably our entire family's favorite - although they ran out one of the days during our stay. All said, this place is a bit on the pricey side ($25/person) so we didn't dine here every day, but we enjoyed the food the days we did dine here. read more

Southwest food! Is this place named after Sedona, Arizona? That place is famous for having the only McDonald's with turquoise arches instead of the regular golden ones. This is the buffet for the JW Marriott resort. The restaurant is situated by the pool and has a grand all you can eat option. I came for breakfast and was awestruck at the spread here. They offered a wide variety of Mexican breakfast stuff, plus lots of stuff that wasn't. It's weird that they name the restaurant after an American city. I'd expect Sedona, Arizona food to be microgreens and smoothies. The buffet offered salmon up six different ways. There are seven seas, they fell short by one. I wondered about their ability to keep that fish cool in the heat of the day. There was a full breakfast spread. Everything you could want for a Mexican breakfast. It looked amazing. They offered up a bakery bar, with lots of Mexican sweets, and plenty sweeter for the American palate, like donuts and cupcakes. They had a juice bar- with freshly squeezed drinks, maybe five flavors. Om nom. I went with the chilequiles, off the menu, which they offered with eggs or chicken, red or green. I went green chicken. I chose poorly. The chicken was dried and overcooked. The chips and green sauce mushed together in an uninspired mush by the end. It lacked avocados. The coffee was good, they serve Illy. The waitstaff was great about keeping my cup full. The service was great, and they all spoke English. Things were pretty expensive, but you're at the buffet for the resort, so whaddya expect? The artwork is fun and original. I enjoy the painting by the entrance. Check out their chandeliers. Best seats are out by the pool in the shade, if you ask me. read more

For the main course we had the pork tenderloin and ahi tuna. The meal was fantastic and we recommend this restaurant if your in the Cancun area on the hotel zone. With all of the good reviews on Yelp, I was expecting much better... especially for a restaurant at the JW Marriott. Don't get me wrong, the restaurant has great service and the ambiance of the place is fantastic if you sit on the patio area. We came for dinner and it's a great setting with a little river separating the restaurant from the rest of the resort. The food was a big, big let down. Not only is the food mediocre, but you're paying top dollar! First starters, we got the king crab ceviche. I was pretty happy with it. There was tons of crab and I liked how the citrus was infused into the dish. I thought the tomatoes were a little out of place. Maybe they could've chopped the tomatoes a little smaller. For the mains, we got the lamb t-bone and the grilled Caribbean lobster. Save yourself some money and order something cheaper! The price of these items definitely didn't match the quality & taste. The lamb was alright, very thin and not that juicy. I did enjoy the creamed corn though. I thought it was better than the lamb itself. As far as the lobster goes, what a huge disappointment. The presentation is good but I was not a fan of the manzano chili-pineapple sauce. It didn't pair well with the lobster at all. Not to mention, the "red beet risotto" was just like regular rice with red food coloring. If you're looking for a nice ambiance, Sedona Grill is great. If you're looking for delicious food that justifies the high price tag, steer clear of Sedona Grill. read more

Came here for the breakfast Buffett. The chilaquiles, both red and green were my favorites items, paired with a few fried eggs. Absolutely loved the Mexican hot chocolate. The pastries and fruit were all good too. Much of the cold items such as the hot smoked salmon didn't do it for me. The pancakes and waffles were ok, but as expected on a buffet, they don't tend to do well sitting out. Amazing? No not by any means. But plenty of food and convenient since I'm staying on property. Easily the worst restaurant in the entire Marriott resort. This was the first place we went to. We were absolutely starving since we had just come from a long flight. The fact that we would have been absolutely impressed with anything considering how hungry we were, it's insane how disappointing a buffet can be. The selection was downright a joke. They basically only had 2 main dishes. Everything else were sides like chips/salsa, fruit, and a bunch of desserts. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a single item that was somewhat decent. It should have been a huge red flag when we came in and the entire restaurant was just empty. The staff was kind, but when the bill came they were not up to date with some logistics. I was told I had $500 USD resort credit to use throughout my stay. The front desk told me I'm free to use at any restaurant throughout the resort in which Sedona Grill resides. The man was confused and just straight up lied to us saying we have to pay for the bill and they will reimburse me at checkout. I went to the front desk after paying their outrageous price for such god awful food, and was told no I should have had them comp my meal. So unfortunately I was out $70 just for some tacos and fruit. They even charged me $8 for water. It's also strange how upfront they will be when it comes to tip, just telling you what you should be putting down and watching over your shoulder as you write down the amount. Huge disappointment overall and definitely a bad way to start off my vacation with such a horrible first meal. read more

This is the buffet at the JW. Has breakfast in the morning, and a la carte dinner at night. I will review both here. Service is prompt. Staff are so nice and kind. Will go above and beyond for any requests or recommendations. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Everything you would want is there. It is a little condensed and therefore does not appear as large, but actually has a lot of stuff. Pastries, bread, egg station, salmon station, tacos, breakfast burrito, bagels, fruits, you name it. For dinner, we sat outside, lovely atmosphere next to the water. Food was absolutely delicious from appetizers to dessert. Must eat at least one dinner here during your stay. read more

We are staying at the Marriott and picked this restaurant based on its overall yelp rating. We had the Chicharrón and Bacon Guacamole which was good. The chicharrón were not crispy and neither was the bacon. But it was a generous serving. The Pork Tenderloin was not presented well and looked like someone plopped the pork onto the plate in 3 lumps. The sauce underneath was splattered all over the plate as a result. The accompanying vegetables of carrots and asparagus were undercooked and raw. The Pork Belly has good flavor but the sugar snap peas placed on top were old and hard. The waitstaff did not come over to check on us during the meal. The quality in a JW Marriott should be higher. read more

The view overlooking the infinity pool and beach were amazing, service was amazing, and the service and staff was amazing. The chef even came to our table to apologize for a delay on our desert (which they make to order) and to give us another desert while waiting. This was a quick spot given it was on site of our hotel. The wait was about 20 minutes and my family and I sat inside. Prior to entering the restaurant, masks were required. Our servers were friendly and accommodating. There was also a band that played at the top of the restaurant and wandered around playing for tables. Very nice entertainment! As for the food it was buffet style for dinner. The line, depending on when you went, could get very long. Because of Covid you are not able to serve yourself and the workers are putting the food on your plate. This is nice because it considers healthy and safety but it is a little slow and sometimes misunderstandings occur. Either too little or too much food goes on the plate. I give credit to the workers though- they are working very hard to tailor to everyone in line! With that, I was a bit disappointed in the portions of the food put on the plate but since it is a buffet you could go back for seconds or thirds. Food quality and favorites: Food quality was good but not great. I forgot to take a picture but I got almost every food there. The fish, chicken tacos, and beef fajitas were great. I also had the empanadas, tamales, and chicken which were good but lacking the wow factor for me. The tacos were a bit small but made up in great taste with some guac, salsa, and cheese (there were other options too). There was also fruit cups in a fancy cocktail glass, small salad portions, and a quesadilla section. Like I've said- all were good! Just lacking that authentic, exquisite taste for me. The dessert was also good too. I tried the hot chocolate, cotton candy, coconut candy, and chocolate cake. These portions were also small but filling! I enjoyed the coconut candy and devoured the chocolate cake. The hot chocolate was unique (it seemed different than American hit chocolate) but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, it was a good start to eating in Cancun for our vacation. If you're looking for a place that has it all for a relatively good price I'd recommend. read more

So sweet tasted like challah I had it by itself but it was delicious, definitely wanted rounds more. Had the jw breakfast buffet. It is $23 for adults and half that for kids. The buffet is well worth the price as they have anything and everything including 2 omelette stations and lots of seafood. All drinks including cappuccinos are included which is a treat. Everyone very helpful and Marriott gold members get 15%off. Updating the review after having the Friday southwestern buffet. The Friday buffet is not worth the 420 pesos as the food is bland and the stations are just ok. The best part of the buffet was the ceviche and the desert bar. Thank goodness for buffet style because I would've ordered a second (OK, third!) plate if a la carte. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options to please everyone - imported cheeses, cold cuts, dumplings, egg rolls, breakfast carbs galore, freshly made eggs and custom omelets, hot breakfast meats, Mexican fare (CHILAQUILES!!!!), refried beans, guac, fried plantains, quesadillas, etc. Oh and healthy selections are also available but if you're going to a fabulous resort in Mexico to enjoy granola and Yoplait Light you need to live a little. On Fridays they serve a Mexican Buffet that includes authentic Al Pastor, street tacos made to order , Mole, Chile Rellenos and much more. All while being serenaded by an amazing Band singing Mexican music. The service was impeccable. The food was authentic. The music was extraordinary. Start by saying the service was amazing! I honestly felt sorry for the staff because when we sat down he informed us they were out of 6 plus items on the menu! We then order the pasta, king crab ceviche, etc. He then comes to our table and says I'm sorry but we are also out of pasta and king crab ceviche. The chicken was so dry and terrible. We only had breakfast there, and I giving it 4 stars for the excellent service and lovely outdoor seating views. It was overpriced for the quality of the food - perfect though if you are on an unlimited plan. I would be satisfied if it was all inclusive, but not paying $30-$35 USD for breakfast. They have a breakfast buffet, but we eat a small breakfast so we passed on the overpriced omelette (which is all would have ate). A lot of people seemed to have an all-inclusive plan where the buffet was included, but we used points to book the room and were not offered that. We ordered off the menu then, which had some decent choices but all proved to be just ok. Be warned - food portions are small and the foot itself is surprisingly bland. The breakfast burrito was scrambled eggs (I think from freeze dried eggs) and cheese only. And very small - I was hungry after I ate. The best thing they have is the Jalisco eggs, which has a thin layer of fine chorizo under the eggs. The upside? The service was excellent and they bring a delicious yogurt and honey concoction shortly after you are seated. That was really the highlight of the breakfast. Breakfast is my favorite meal, and I love a good Mexican breakfast in Mexico. There are no small mom-and-pop breakfast restaurants within walking distance except the marina across the street (see my review - a good options also). So this is really you main choice for breakfast. read more

I ate here 5 mornings as it was included in my stay at JW. 4 out of the 5 times we ate there the order was wrong- missing items, order totally wrong, etc. pancakes didn't even come with butter but oily cheap margarine. We all loved the food, the staff were friendly and very polite. Breakfast: we used the breakfast buffet. Even though it was relatively expensive ($30 per person) we really liked it. Their latte is awful and tastes like instant coffee, the omelette was great, the fruit selection is fantastic. Their juices other than orange juice don't seem to be natural. The staff are nice, well trained, respectful and smiling. The go beyond their job description to make you feel welcomed. Their salmon and gravlax was also fantastic.
