Clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed with a great selection of books. I loved the different reading areas that make it easy to settle in with a good book, and the secure entrance adds a sense of comfort. The only downside for me was that, living in Fulton County, I wasn't eligible for a free library card--it would cost $40 annually. Still, for those within the system, this library offers a truly welcoming and inspiring place to read, study, or simply enjoy quiet time. read more

This is my local library. With these corona times you can put holds on books and they will go inside and get them for you. Or, in my opinion, it is easier to just walk in and grab your books off the hold shelf. The employees are friendly and helpful. Masks are encouraged and all employees are wearing masks. read more

The library is clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The snack machine didn't work, but the drink machine did and the cost was higher than expected. Hopefully they will get the vendor to fix that now that they are informed. The area around the library is currently under construction. My family and I visited the library for a puzzle competition so we were not really there for the purpose of utilizing this particular library for any other purpose than being in the meeting room for the event, however, I did walk around briefly and saw there was an activity lab that can be rented out for video production, etc. I also saw there was a nice section for children, but I have visited many libraries and perceived the library to be adequate for general needs, but not too much to where this would be a location that I would travel out of the way for in need of a library other than an event of interest. Nonetheless, it is a good, aesthetically pleasing library that is worth a visit. read more

I actually love this library! So coming here is hard during rush hour times! You will be in back to back traffic just struggling through so avoid the traffic! There is a lot of parking space so you don't have to worry! The library is big! Compared to the Duluth branch the Suwannee is way bigger and has a cute reading pagoda for kids to sit in for the readers! The building is large so sound doesn't travel so fast and it is a nice place to study! I honest loved the train and wasn't bothered by it! I thought it added to the aesthetic of the whole library! If you watch Howls Moving Castle the movie you'll feel like you're in the same city the move took place too! So cute! So romantic! I would visit this place if you live near by because t is a treat! This library is LOUD. Like a screaming child in the middle of the study hall for 2 hrs and not a single worker tried to help loud.

I've grown up in Gwinnett County Libraries and am honestly always impressed about how nice they are. The Suwanee branch is the bomb to be honest b/c it's newest and also it ALWAYS has all the books I want. I went to the Lawrenceville branch once and all the books I wanted were in the Suwanee Branch. It's a good quiet place to study and recently they changed the checkout to these fancy glass self scan based on chip things. Super fancy. They've removed the Librarian desk, which makes me a little sad b/c that means a lot of librarians must have lost their jobs. Otherwise, still a nice library. Scenary: I like that each library has one room with large windows that face a nice background. Suwanee's is one that faces the street but it is like a 20 foot glass window that you can sit by and get sunlight and good lighting for your books. I love the rustic brick interior and the chandelier in that reading room. And it's located near a Korean Church and directly across from Suwanee Downtown. So you'll see many Korean children on weekends studying and hanging out here at this branch. Parking: Parking is easy. Unless there's some event in the Suwanee Town center! Access to materials: This library is the one with the MOST available books. You shouldn't have a problem. Children's section: Good. Fun and lots of materials to read. This is a nice library conveniently located right across the street from Suwanee Town Center and next to the Police Station. They have a decent selection of newspapers, books, magazines, audio books and computers. I've never had to wait to use a computer and login is easy using your library card, which gives you access 30 minutes at a time. Additionally, there are tons of chairs, couches and tables for you to read and work, whichever you're doing. A previous review mentioned the librarian desk is gone and had been replaced with the electronic self-checkout. This is true, but there are still plenty of employees walking around to help people with whatever they need...nobody lost a job. If a book you want isn't available at this location but at another library within the county, the staff can get it for you and you can pick it up when it arrives. The books rotate within all of the libraries within Gwinnett County. Also, a previous review stated that this library is in an odd location due to the train. Someone stated it goes by every 20 minutes. I live around the corner and will tell you that the MOST the train goes by is every hour on busy days, and sometimes less frequent than that. It blows its horn twice...it isn't really a big deal. Anyway, the library is clean, staff is friendly and helpful. Ironically, no matter what time of day I go, it is always packed with Asians...now I know why they're smarter...I saw a 12 year old Asian kid checking out SAT books! Good for him! read more

I realize that I've been to several different libraries during the past few months, but honestly, they're way better than places like Barnes & Noble where you can hardly ever find a seat anyway. Plus, you don't have to feel "guilty" if you don't buy anything from the bookstore. This particular library is actually the fourth Gwinnett County Public Library (GCPL) that I have visited! A friend of mine told me that this library was nice, so we checked it out after lunch one Sunday. The Suwanee branch is located right by the city's Town Center Park. It's not too small, but not too large, either - and they have a pretty good selection of books and audio books. They also have plenty computers and tables to study at, which is nice. I had no problem grabbing a computer for myself when I wanted to look up some books on the gwinnettpl.org website. Like most libraries I have visited, this one also has a "quiet room" for studying. However, I found it ironic that it's located towards the back of the library - and super close to a railroad! So the entire library is often filled with the loud sounds of trains passing by! It's awfully strange that they decided to open a library in a not-so-quiet area. Overall, the Suwanee branch of the GCPL system deserves 4 stars because it is clean, has a good selection of educational material, and looks pretty new! Came here to study one afternoon. Library looks huge from the outside but still very spacious on the inside. There's a quiet section in the back with a few cubicles. I picked a table off to the side. There's a lack of outlets. The noise level is fine. Not too loud, no screaming kids. read more

Absolutely love this library. It's extremely spacious so any noises get diffused pretty well (good place to take your kids - but we always do enforce "inside voices" in libraries as best as we can). The facilities are extremely clean - I don't mind my kids (5 & 2) running around and am not worried they'll get into anything dirty. Even the bookshelves are all very clean (top & between shelves)! The bathrooms are really nice and the kids' section bathroom has kid-sized potty & sink. I really love their checkout kiosks. It makes long checkouts a thing of the past and makes me feel like I'm truly living in a time of the future. You just stack all the items on the sensor and everything is found all at once (this applies to all Gwinnett Public Library branches). I love taking my girls here so they can run around, read, play on the mounted iPads, and be themselves while I sit on one of their comfy chairs and enjoy a book for myself!!! read more

This is a nice library but not my favorite library. There is a good amount of people who come to this library and so seating is pretty limited. If there is one person to a table, most people are nice enough to let you sit on the other end. The library has beautiful high ceilings in the middle and an open floor plan but is still smaller and that leaves it to be kinda loud since the children's section is really close to most seating. Tutors in the library can also be kind of loud. If it's a bit loud for you, you can move into their "Quiet Room" in the back of the library but seating is SOO Limited with only 6 single cubicles. And it's not sound proof. The library has great events for kids like magic shows but they host them right in the middle of the library. They use loud speakers and music, which don't get me wrong, is great for the kids but I feel is unfair for the rest of the people in the library. Even in the quiet room, the microphones and sound systems could be heard. Luckily I had some cheap foam ear plugs in my car and I went to the quiet room but I could still hear the music. Bathrooms could be a little better kept. But overall, it's a pretty nice library. read more
