The majority of offerings on their community events calendar are for tai chi, vinyasa yoga and meditation--exercises to encourage mindfulness and stress reduction. The chances to unwind continue outside the library walls. They have a small, tree shaded reading garden next to the parking lot. You can sit on one of the park benches and read or just sit and listen to birds chirp. The focal point of the garden is a labyrinth. Its pathway is made of brick and gravel. At its center is a peace pole with the phrase "May Peace Prevail on Earth" etched on it in sixteen different languages including Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, Hindi, Swahili, Hebrew and Thai. It's a little overgrown and covered with fallen pine needles, but you can still make out the outlines of a pathway. Walking a labyrinth is supposed to be a good way to quiet the mind, to think of creative solutions to problems, to let go of stress and to pray and seek answers. So if you're at the library to study or work for hours, it's good to know you can take a break and recharge in the reading garden. The classes, reading garden and labyrinth make the Sandy Springs branch a good place to not only read and work but also to relax and find peace.

I came to the Hairston Crossing Library on a Monday afternoon for studying, and quite honestly, I…read morehadn't been here in more than a decade, but it looks like several renovations have been done since I last stepped in. Computers are available front and center as you walk in, and there are tables for studying, large ones that can seat 4 people at a time. There's also smaller tables that line the walls that seat two people at a time. Each table has its own outlet if you have your devices that need powering, and while I did hear some beeping noises from time to time, it was pretty quiet. An entire section in the rear of the library houses a children's book area with a table for kids. Of course throughout the library are several rows of books and staff were on hand to help anyone who needed it. The parking lot is decently sized, having no problems finding a parking spot. While the parking lot was easy to find a space, it was a bit challenging to find a table. Library computers were all being used at the time of my visit, and every table had at least one person sitting at it, so sometimes you have to share, which is what I did. Smaller library with limited books, but it does the job for me, especially when i'm just trying to study. I'd happily come back.

Seriously, this library is SO nice…read more It's brand new, and clean, and bright, and nice!! I am so excited this is within 10 minutes from me. It has a huge kid's section, complete with books, DVD, TABLETS (for kids to play on), audio books, and lounging areas. It has several rooms, and even offers free classes like beginner photography (how cool is that?!). Only time will tell how this library will hold up, but I can't wait to be a regular visitor!

I handled my biz and was through the library detectors. (Clean bathroom with sufficient toilet paper, soap, and paper towel, by the way.) The day was perfect. Slightly cloudy with very mild temperatures. This led me to mistakenly assume there would be few people in the library. I often wonder if anyone goes to the library still and let me tell you, folks definitely go to the Peachtree Corners branch of the Gwinnett Public Library system. In the middle of the afternoon, there were people of all different ages, studying, reading, working, and playing. I had no problem with noise and plopped down at a desk towards the back of the library. Free Wi-Fi but no electrical outlet for me to plug in. Luckily my MacBook, with its screwed-up, old battery still holds a charge better than any PC laptop I ever owned before. Mostly I was writing out equations on paper, so I was good to go with the juice in my computer. The library was a comfortable temperature, probably warmer than most commercial places, which was awesome for me. Strangely, there was a woman wrapped up in a thick blanket. Not sure what that was all about. I took a picture to send to my family group chat, but I won't post it here, haha. I saw a decent collection of books as I peered around right before leaving. I'm not a Gwinnett county resident but I'm trying to bribe my sister into sharing her library card with me! I mean, Asians all look the same, right? Terrible joke... Unless you have not much else to do, aka employment, it is very difficult to finish a book in 2 weeks. Also, the library content is mostly "side b" books, not the bestsellers. Popular new books can have waiting list for 80+ people for that ridiculous 2 week reading period. Forsyth county officials should be ashamed of not serving the public very well. Where do the tax dollars go? Staff are friendly and operating hours are decent.

I was there on Friday August 15 to print something for a protest the next day. I told that woman to…read moresee if the computer can print 11 x 17 poster paper. She told me it doesn't work and she and I find solutions to make it resemble to a poster. She showed me the different options that resemble a poster. There was a one option in which you print 8 x 11, in which it is like a normal piece of paper and you print each four individual pieces of papers. That four individual pieces of paper have four corners and when you cut it you can make a poster out of it. So I choose that option, I just want to say thank you to the librarian to take the time to show me on how do it. It was good customer service.

I come here all the time to tutor high school and college students. It has a bunch of study rooms…read morethat you can reserve for free. They're clean, quiet, and spacious. It's often hard to get a reservation since they're usually booked up, but it still is really great when I get one. If I can't, then there is a larger room which doesn't require reservations, where people can still meet and talk -- however, since we're all in there together it's often louder and with small children. But it can still work. Also the rest of the library has a number of chairs and tables where one can work quietly, and again it's quite nice, spacious, bright, clean. So this is a great library to get work done or spend some time reading. I don't have a lot of experience with the book selection or ordering books, although I did go looking for a bunch of pre-calculus textbooks once and they had a nice large selection already on the shelves. The staff is always pleasant and tries to keep the line at the front desk moving, so I appreciate their work and professionalism! Parking for Roswell City Hall was plentiful. The city hall building is beautiful, both inside and outside. It's so picturesque that it's been used in multiple shows and films, according to one of the security staff members whom I spoke with while going through their security procedures at the entrance to the building. We went upstairs so that R could pay his fine. The payment counter had clear plexiglas separating the clerks from the customers, and communication was loud, since the clerks and customers used microphones and loudspeakers to communicate. Yes, all communications could easily be heard. The clear was professional, courteous and efficient, and we were there for about three minutes. Great experience!
