But what I found was a school that was responsive, rigorous, and gave me the opportunities I needed -- from quality clinical rotations in the U.S. to a strong support system when prepping for the USMLEs and Match. I know there's a lot of stigma, but if you're committed and use your resources wisely, this route can still take you exactly where you want to go. Everyone's journey is different, and this one worked for me. For those thinking of alternative routes into medicine, just know it's possible -- and worth it.

I'll be honest: I wasn't sure what to expect when I first committed here. Like many people, I had the typical concerns about international med schools -- stigma, matching, opportunities, etc. But now being a Resident Doctor, going back, I don't think I would change a thing. This school gave me more than just a medical education -- it gave me room to grow. From day one, I was able to get deeply involved, take on leadership roles, work on meaningful projects, and surround myself with people who genuinely cared about what they were doing. Being successfully here definitely takes a degree of drive (as medical school in general does), and the atmosphere is a perfect compliment to that. Academically, I felt challenged and supported. The curriculum was rigorous, but the small class sizes and accessible professors made it easy to stay connected and get help when I needed it. Clinical rotations were solid, and I was able to make the most of my electives and networking opportunities. I matched into an absolute dream residency at an academic center in the U.S., and I know this school played a major part in getting me there. Would I have taken a more traditional path if I had the chance? Maybe. But I wouldn't trade this one for anything. This journey wasn't easy -- but it was worth it. And I'm leaving this place as both a better physician and a better person because of it.

If they won't answer your call they have a minimum wait time at their physical campus. I'm usually in and out within 20 minutes even if there's a few students ahead of me. Even since the merger with Georgia State this is not a heavy traffic campus. It's easy to navigate so you can waste less time worrying about where your class is and more time studying. ALSO-- super clean and updated restrooms (at least in building B).

I have had a horrible time trying to get through the admissions process. They have it strictly…read morestep-by-step, they stick by it no matter what, no rushing anything, and all they say is that they're really backed up from all the paperwork. I don't even know if I will be able to register for classes in time. I've had a frustrating experience. My husband, for some odd reason, was classified as 'out-of-state tuition' so now we have to file this enormous petition to prove he's lived here for a year (he's lived here for over 6 yrs BTW). He probably won't be in time to register either with all the time it takes them to process paperwork. We've never had such a hard time at a college before. They wanted proof of immunizations, which I found weird considering we graduated from US High Schools. Even after they've processed all your transcripts (which they LOST the first copy I had sent BTW) and other documentation, you have to wait to ACTUALLY be admitted as a student. Then you have to do your Compass test, and lastly you have orientation with limited days and most hours during the week. Work during the week? Too bad. Not admitted yet, because of paperwork processing delay, in time to sign up for the ONLY Saturday orientation? Too bad. You can go to the other campus 2 HOURS away (gee thx!). But you can't sign up for orientation without doing the compass, so if you take the compass the day before how do you make sure you have a seat for the last day of orientation? Over the phone they said I HAD to go to orientation and suggested I go 2 hours away since I couldn't go during the week, when I went into the office they told me I didn't have to go to orientation, if everything happened too late for the Sat. class then I could just talk to a counseler and sign up for classes. Well which is it?? I'm so tired from trying to deal with it and all the red tape. They need to hire more people to help with the huge influx of paperwork they apparently have during registration time & make more orientation days, because you're just left waiting, not sure if you'll be able to go college this semester or what. I find their excuses to be unprofessional - hire more temp help then! If what they told me in the office is right, that they've processed 15,000 applications these past couple months (true or not who knows), well then lets do some simple math; 15,000 x $20 application fee = $300,000. Think you could use any of that money to hire some temp help? Hmmmm.... I don't even know about the financial aid yet, and I've heard that they're a nightmare too, so that should be interesting! Put in your application and transcripts early, or you'll be left doing the same thing. And don't let up on them at all - always check to make sure everything is looking smooth, your tuition status, all your paperwork, any holds, ANYTHING. So you can nip it in the bud. I'm always told one thing on the phone, and then another when I go to campus. And the people on campus aren't always the most friendly people (probably because now they're sick of people complaining about the admissions process and how much it sucks!!). Maybe I'll like the school, once I'm able to attend. I'll review again once I've experienced the classes and campus (if I can - hah!). But so far just a long stressful nightmare. I can't believe a school runs it's administration like this. No company would stay in business like they run their admissions process, EXCEPT the business of college.

First of all, their website does not work with smart phones. Then, the website setup is impossible to follow. I've made multiple trips to the campus for help. While the people have been pleasant, the hoops they have potential students jumping through to take a class is ridiculous. I am so disappointed in this institution.

You can completely complete check off for all paramedic Clinic skills, this program requires by its program, Director Eron sunshine, you can complete this program without failing any final and the person who runs this program, Eron Sunshine, will still legally be able and will dismiss you from his program if he believes that you cannot pass the paramedic national registry on your very first attempt. It does not matter your performance throughout this program. It does not matter your level of dedication and it does not matter how much it means to you if ERON SUNSHINE does not think you will pass the first time you take registry he will kick you out of his program. no, not because you actually deserve it but because he thinks it'll just take you one more time and he's comfortable with passing national registry and he does not want you to ruin Lanier Technical College's percentages of passing on the NREMT paramedic national registry on the first attempt. Because of this, I would literally choose any other program besides this program.

After looking for an OPEN AND CLOSE sign in the Massage Therapy suite, and finding the front doors…read moreto the college open with NO ONE attending the front desk at 11:30 on a Saturday afternoon, I reluctantly open the front door to Suite 1200, and notice CASES of files immediately upon walking into the lobby (a personally identfiable information violation, as customer files should be protected), a gentleman (seated), and two women: one attendant speaking to the gentleman (a client, I assume), and the one I had to deal with. Her: "What do you need?" Me: "Hi, I'd like some info about your massages." Her: "Well, what information, because most of it is right outside the door... (proceeds talking)" I read the prices! I specifically wanted to know 1) If they were open, because there's no SIGN, 2) What KINDS of massages were available, and 3)What I needed to do to schedule an appointment. But the lack of professionalism and rude tone the woman took with me (and I let her know that, btw) was enough for me to turn around and walk right out. Now is that any way to treat a potential client? I don't think so. I wouldn't recommend anyone else come here.

They send out deals every now and then for $25 one hour massages. Can't beat that!! Every now and then I get a massage that is just ok but that happens anywhere you go really. Overall, it's the only place in Atlanta I've stayed loyal to for massages for the past 4 or 5 years.
