The application process for signing up to take one class is almost impossible. I have a degree and thought it would be good to go back to a university to take a class. First of all, their website does not work with smart phones. Then, the website setup is impossible to follow. I've made multiple trips to the campus for help. While the people have been pleasant, the hoops they have potential students jumping through to take a class is ridiculous. I am so disappointed in this institution. read more

Currently a student at GPC. Pros: The college has multiple locations trough out Atlanta. There are many classes to pick from. If you can't find one class at one campus you might be able at another one. Most classes have online options but pick them up quick and pay as soon as you can because they will be gone quickly and if you don't pay by the assigned date, you will get your classes dropped. I have been mostly to the Dunwoody campus and it is basically the better one of all campuses. Cons at the Dunwoody campus: -Horrible customer service. Most of the advising, admission, financial aid and testing associates are very disrespectful. They treat you with honey, hon, sugar, sweet heart, boo etc. There is no mam, miss, mrs or by first name or last name if given or provided before hand. -vending machines are expensive! $2.00 for a tiny bag of chips, $2.00 for a small bottle of coke. Seriously, we are students and most of us are basically in a budget or what's considered a "starving student" budget. Yes, it is our responsibility to bring our food but $2.00 for a tiny bag of chips should be a crime! Its almost as expensive as the movies and I am not even enjoying my self. -.- -The work-attire is not professional. Flip flops, messy hair, no make up or at least lip gloss. Crappy attitude to match the their unprofessional attire. At least one could balance the other. But no its from bad to worst. -Online classes are way more expensive that just a regular lecture class, even though you are not occupying classrooms space, using their technology or supplies, yes its more expensive. -There is only a one way road around the campus, if an emergency happens we are all doomed. - If you call the campus... let me know when someone picks your call up, and if they do pick up let me know how long it took before your "call dropped". Calling is a joke. -.- -the testing center to the take the clep, compass or placement test is very incompetent. The ppl There will brag about how they have been there for over 10 yrs. Great, but how is it that things keep falling trough the cracks. The phones are never answered, the voice mails takes ages to reply, yes, they are short staffed, I get it. But, as an employee don't complain or refuse to help a student because they didn't make an apt or where not able to be guided properly when no one answers the phone or return voicemails on a timely manner. Its not always the student fault. Something needs to change, either the staff, the staff's attitude or just the entire protocol of how things are done in order to make the process and communication to work smoothly. -The back parking lot, that is half gravel, half dirt and if you don't leave a piece of under your car or a couple if tires behind you are definitely not enjoying the college experience. This parking/ drive path lot has NOT been paved in years, maybe decades. Its has holes everywhere. If you try to miss one pothole you will fall in three other more. It makes me wonder where all that tuition money is going towards? Tips: -If you are transferring make sure you look over your credits. Sometimes they might make you take classes you don't need or that you took but didn't transfer correctly. -Find a good counselor and use your resources. Not all counselors are good and not all will put the student first. Don't feel bad if you choose a specific counselor. You can request them and wait a bit more. -Talk to other students. Someone might tell you something that you might not know. -Take the CLEP test is you can. Its way cheaper and easier is you already know something very well but don't need/ want to take the entire semester course. Note: if you speak a second language and your are fluent make sure that you look in the Clep website if it is available. You might not have to take a full course. And do not anyone tell you that you cant take it!! Look into it first. ;) read more

One of the nicer campuses of gpc. I think like most perimeter students (I imagine professors too), we bounce around from campus to campus to get the classes we need. If you're just starting out, it's a 2 year university, much cheaper than other state universities, but the credits earned aren't inferior. This campus is a bit weird to get out of, since you have to circle the university to get to an exit (well, I do anyway), and after 5pm, traffic can be a beast, but I like this campus, it's cleaner labs, and the geese that are always grazing at the entrance read more

I like to study here. They have a good support for students, the price is reasonable, the campus is clean and well maintained. The location is good also, since is out of major Atlanta traffic . Sometimes parking can be bad but you can always find a spot. I had good professors so far, Mr. Kendrick for ESL is great, Mrs. Cunningham for PHED, Mrs. Younkins for PSYCH and Mrs. Jacobs for ENGL are the best ones , Mr. Siler for CRJU is also a great teacher, doesn't have much organization regarding class but he does make class interesting. read more

Pros- Awesome online classes which are very flexible and educational. I have had some of the most caring, professional professors. I wouldn't have an online degree experience any other way. Cons- the admissions and registration process in the beginning were a pain, very disorganized and unprofessional in terms of updating records and responding to concerns in a timely manner. Overall good school for busy professionals and parents needing to pursue higher education to better themselves. I also like the TAG program. read more

Horrible!! I was never sent an acceptance letter, the only way I found out I was accepted was a letter reminding me to hurry up and register for classes 6 days before the first day of classes. I had 6 days to get registered, books etc. Then all of my records were in my maiden name not a huge deal til two of my teachers failed me at the end of the semester because they thought the student with my maiden name and married name were 2 different people yet it's the same student Id. I college is always messed up. I ended up having to taken exam THREE times and that's only because I had to call the department chair b/c the teacher didn't believe that icollege logged me out halfway thru. Financial aid changed my fafsa and made it so I was I not eligible to receive pell grant yet when I spoke to fafsa and the dept of education they both said that I filled it out correctly and that the school was wrong to change it. I called back to resolve this issue and no answer. I went to campus and the girl playing with her nails at the desk said that no one there could help me, "just check the status online or send an email, have a nice day bye". I will not ever go to this school nor will I recommend it to ANYONE. The only nice thing I can say about this school is that I had two really good teachers my last semester. I took a pre calculus class at the Dunwoody campus & thought it was really good. Due to their current financial problems, Friday classes are no more Since Friday class was my only real world option, I had to go the online route for Calculus. GPC online is absolute garbage. its a jumble of links to streaming wmv ( who knew it still existed) videos. There are actual lectures that relate to the text, done by Sandi Hitchcock (not my instructor), which are quite good. If only they were in a standard format that non-Windows (windows folks might have trouble too) users could pause & rewind, like every other video in the world online. Then there's the jumble of lectures or whatever that are from other texts...and other lectures by a few other random ppl. Lots of dead links and incomplete materials. One is probably better off going to Khan Academy for instruction & using the text for homework. I waste most of my time attempting to watch the lectures. It can take all day to.watch a one hour wmv video without it crapping out & having to.start all over again. It happens on all my devices. The wimba thing would be really cool at the end of the 90s as would Webassign, where one has access to a ridiculous "multimedia" online version of the text, which is weird at best and really should be modified and sold as the ebook version. I've been printing out each section of the book (another crap ebook text by James Stewart's publisher). Homework is done as, sometimes goofy, fill-in the blank in webassign & is easiest done, printed out, done by hand & entered all at once. Webassign homework does not cover all topics that need to be known....yeah, so why are they bothering? For a four credit class, two straight forward lectures per week, in a standard online streaming format, and homework practice problems to be turned in at the end of each chapter would suffice. Don't bother with gpc online if you can avoid it. read more

It looks great on the inside, more modern and contemporary. I cant comment on the classes yet, since its been too long since I was last here, but as soon as I get an idea I will definitely post an update to mention them as well. I love and appreciate GPC since I have been a student here for the past two years, but it never fails every semester that I have to go to the financial aid office for one thing or another. And the staff in there is always SUPER RUDE. I don't understand why they feel they have a right to have attitudes with prospect student trying to pay the school thousands of dollars each semester to better themselves and the society that we live in. Anyways, the ladies in the financial aid office must really dislike their job because they have consistently talked down to me and been unhelpful and aloof with every visit. read more

Well this Dunwoody Campus is the nicest out of all of them. I have never been to the others but Dunwoody is always clean and pretty. The security guards are always doing their job to make the traffic go by quicker in the busy times. I really do like how the campus is set up. Everything is grouped together in certain buildings. You can ask teacher or staff for help on something and they are always more than happy to help you. The people here are always smiling and the college students seem to be happy, unlike other colleges I have been too. Im glad I chose Georgia Perimeter! read more

It's okay, but it's common that they test you over everything that is hardly/not taught in class- so tell me, what's the point of showing up to class again?! Some professors are good, but you have to do your research. I've heard great things about the Dunwoody campus. After two years of sticking with GPC, I moved to a 4+ year University and I get WAY BETTER treatment and experience at the university than at any school or college I have ever been to. Run from this college while you can! It doesn't matter if you're smart or dumb- you're still going to get screwed over by GPC. read more

I start my first classes in the fall! I can't wait, so far they have been very helpful, caring, and willing to help me get started and apart of the GPC community! My mother went to this campus in the 90's and joined their dental program. She went on to being a very great and skilled dental hygienist! Can't wait to start and hopefully I have the same great experience. I cannot even begin to explain how frustrating this school is to communicate with. They NEVER answer their phones or emails and they always have some random hold to put on my account that ends up being a "misunderstanding" and "not meant to have been put on my account". Every time I have a question or need something fixed or clarified, I need to physically go to the school to have it taken care of and even then they sometimes require me to come back. I cannot stand this school. Unbelievable. The amount of gas and time I have spent going here to just ask a simple question is ridiculous. Somehow they can never answer the damn phone but whenever I take time off of work to go there, no one is on the phone - they are all just chatting with one another. I have sent emails as well and have never gotten any replies. Then, when I finally drive there, they acknowledge they received my email but give no reason as to why they never responded. There were times when I drove there to ask something because they didn't answer their phones and then gotten the response "Call this number to get an answer". I shouldn't have to drive someplace to get told another phone number to call - they could have easily saved me time and gas if they answered their phones and emails. They shouldn't have phones or an email if they aren't going to use them. It's ridiculous here. No one is professional. No one ever seems to know what's going on, no one ever communicates properly, I am always required to take time off of work to have a simple conversation because they don't pick up their phones, I have received plenty of attitude from the staff there, and they always have some random hold being put on my account for no reason. I am trying to register right now and ONCE AGAIN there is a random hold on my account and there is no information as to what the hold is or why it is there. It just tells me that there is one. I tried to call but of course, no one answered. I now will have to drive there tomorrow to ask why the hold is there and have it taken off because NO ONE EVER COMMUNICATES THROUGH PHONE OR EMAIL. This is the worst college when it comes to professionalism, communication, and basic polite behavior. read more

This school takes very long time to enroll and the administers only care about getting associate degree program. They will not help you throughout the registration. They make you go back and fort because that's just how well they're organized. Rather than letting you know what's needed at once. The financial aid takes at least 2months because they ask you to bring required forms one by one as they face problems. The traffic is the worst here because of securities directing traffic when policemen are doing their job. Securities are the most rudest people here when driving your car. They always block one of the exit, which creates traffic within the school. When this is bad, it takes around 20 minutes to just get out of the campus. One of the worst school I have ever had. I will not recommend this school for anyone. It get worst as you take some of the classes. Some professors can't help you despite it's his or her class. They tell you not to plagiarize, but some instructors are plagiarizing off someone else's work from the Internet. I feel bad for the teachers who really are good at teaching. read more

First of all, i live all the way out in Loganville. I tried to call for an hour to just get simple questions answered, but the phone lines were "over capacity" and i could not be assisted. I'm starting school at the end of May for the summer semester and i am i new freshman so i am very clueless as to what i need to do before i start. Since i couldn't get through on the phone, i had to drive an hour all the way up there just to ask a few questions which definitely could have been answered over the phone. When i arrived on campus, the parking lot was almost completely empty. There must have been no more that 20 cars in the parking lot leading me to question how "over capacity" the phone lines really were in the first place... When i was finished asking my questions, i went back to my car and noticed that i had a flat tire. I went into the admissions office and they said that the campus security should be able to help me out then they pointed him out to me as he stood in the lobby. I went up to him and asked if he could help me and he laughed and said "i can help you with anything else except changing a tire, sorry ma'am". Let me just make it clear that i am 5'2" and 120lbs and it is very hard for me to change a tire by myself. I was just extremely perturbed as to why there is a security officer to "serve and protect" in the first place if he won't even take the time out of his day (which was extremely slow) to SERVE or protect and help a small girl change a tire. Awesome two year university. I am currently enrolled there and I liked it so far ;)

Here is a copy of the email that I sent to: GPC Advising, Counseling, & Retention Services. It says it all! In February 2013, my son and I visited your Clarkston location to inquire about enrolling. During our brief visit we were told to complete the admissions online. At this time my son and I both asked the gentleman if BROWN MACKIE college courses would transfer to GPC and we were told yes as long as it was offered by GPC it would transfer. Over the course of the next few months from February 2013 through June 5, 2013 we did everything that was asked of us providing documents, college and high school transcripts, filling out FAFSA all while getting reassurance from EVERY person spoken too or emailed that his BROWN MACKIE credits would transfer. My son even sat across from a gentleman a few weeks ago with his high school and BROWN MACKIE transcripts and the gentleman looked at them and said yes both his English and Math classes would transfer and they will go through the rest of the transcripts to see what else can be transferred. Every document was submitted and today my son went in to complete his registration and get his summer classes and was told that GPC will not accept ANY BROWN MACKIE credits. The lady informed my son that she will not even open the transcripts because it said BROWN MACKIE. Now I spoke with and questioned at least 4 people myself about the BROWN MACKIE credits and was told that they would transfer, my son spoke with several people and at times right in front of me and was told the same thing. We went through all these hoops to get into GPC only to be told on the day of his class registration that NONE of his credits would transfer. He had gone as far as to speak with his supervisors and work to assure that he would be able to attend classes without interfering with his work schedule. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT EVERYONE GOES THROUGH NEW TRAINING OR GET ON THE SAME PAGE ABOUT WHAT COLLEGE CREDITS ARE ACCEPTED AND WHICH WILL NOT BE! We could have put the time, effort and FASFA towards another school that will accept the credits. read more
