We stopped in by chance as my girlfriend has been interested recently in snakes, and we've gone to several other reptile establishments in the Elk Grove and Sacramento area. The staff here were very friendly and extremely helpful, throughout the two times that we've been here. They let us look at and hold a couple snakes out in the main area. While also letting looking and hold the samkes in the breeding area, and the other back area with the larger snakes and reptiles. On both occasion we were able able to see, hold and learn about at least a half dozen different ball Pythons and Boas; many of which I had never heard or or seen before. I went to Gx3 reptiles to learn to handle snakes because Im a new snake owner and I was able to learn a lot and hold two ball pythons that were so sweet and easy to handle. The worker I spoke with was very helpful and knowledgeable and gave me a lot of advice. I heavily recommend going here to handle the snakes if you're into that sorta thing. They also have multiple different sizes of hides and wood pieces for reptile enclosures, and more things for terrariums. I was really nervous at first to handle my snake but after going to gx3 reptiles I went home and picked up my snake for the first time and it was so awesome, Im very grateful I can connect better with my snake. read more

I bought my sister a Sulcata from here (first time tortoise owners and we're still learning). The cashier was super nice, helpful and knowledgeable. He was patient with my questions and helped me pick out the baby tortoise. My sister got the tortoise sick so I called this place because the cashier says we're welcomed to call anytime if we need advice or help. Hands down, they care about their reptiles and recommended us two different pet clinics for exotic animals. We were able to take it to the vet and give it antibiotics. This is important for any past or present buyers! I had made a few purchases from them and am very happy however with on there was an understandable human error unintentional mixup. I am a fairly angry person but working to find better civil understanding ways so I decided to think about it and write a kindly worded email about my experience the majority good and slight twist too. They quickly replied and were very kind and apologetic and immediately offered to give me exactly what I wanted in exchange no problem. I had another idea and they liked it too. So I went in and looked around and with their help found one of my dream creatures as a baby (sling), a pink toed versicolor. I have an image I look at every day just hoping to get one. Well they had one and we worked something out to where it was attainable as they had one! We finished the deal and I left in heaven happy as hell. FIVE STARS ABSOLUTELY but we tend to look at the one stars first. This being a 180 as well led me to put this review here. Purchased a frog within 24 hours noticed a deformation in its back legs, it wouldn't climb anything in its enclosure and contacted establishment to be told it was our enclosure which was 24x18x18 and they had it in a 12x12 so the immediately blamed us for THERE poor practices! Great place to answer all your questions. We were looking to get our son (6 yo) a "starter" snake since reptiles are something that he's quite interested in. Therefore, we decided to stop by and check this place out. We were a bit intimidated walking inside because of our limited knowledge in regard to snakes and didn't want to look like total morons. The staff here was nice, helpful and understanding. All in all, we ended up leaving with a new family member and felt ready for this new experience. I have read some negative reviews online about this place and it seems that some people got butt hurt by the knowledge that these people have. If you told me a couple months ago that I would be actively searching for local stores to buy live Superworms and Dubia roaches to keep in my house, I would have laughed in your face! But here we are, I love our bearded dragon much...having a local reptile store, a few blocks away from me, that sells live feeders is so insanely convenient. I thought I would have to drive all the way to Elk Grove for these beauties. Another huge plus about the live feeders is variety. They also have hornworms, wax worms...and many others. This store has some of the coolest live reptiles for sale, so it's always interesting to look at all the animals there. It's impressive that they fit so many animals in such a small store. I like that is it also very clean, staff seems pretty awesome too. I'll be here a lot. Lol read more

I emailed before I went as I was looking for a Pacman frog. They got back to me right when they opened. Really cool place, lots of different lizards, snakes, amphibians and invertebrates. The salesperson pointed me to the frogs I was looking for. Would have loved 1 or 2 more color varieties but the frogs they had looked really good. Plenty of supplies for terrariums as well as live plants. Everything was well taken care of especially the creatures! Will definitely be back for supplies and food. This place is ok. They have a cool selection of reptiles but I don't like buying my pet food here. Bought some super worms 2 days ago and the majority of them are already dead. I primarily went in for some hornworms but those were ALL dead in their container. Same has happened when I went to buy Dubia roaches in the past where they would all die shortly after purchase. I keep coming back when I need to cause they're down the street from my house and I can't make the drive to my preferred reptile store before they close. There has been a few rare occasions when I have bought some worms that were in good condition and lasted til they were all eaten, but that doesn't happen often. I have posted a picture of my recent purchase... there was still more dead ones I wasn't able to pick out of the container since they were decayed to bits. read more

DO NOT GO HERE I bought a breaded dragon they lied and said it was hand tamed. That fucker bit me and my son is afraid of him nor will they take him back! I also bought Giant meal worms and they all died in 2 days $20 for dead and unhealthy meal worms. Today I called for a questions about a Red Foot tortoise I got from a friend I had questions about the tortoise, I was very friendly and welcoming. Whoever answer the phone was a straight jerk and acted like he was a smart ass! Making me feel stupid for asking a question about an animal I barely know about. I been a customer here for 2 years and always noticed the inconsistency of customer service. If I'm spending $200 or more I want to feel like I buying and walking away with something feel secure about, instead of and insecure dummy. I will not be spending my money here. I came here last summer and it was super cool. It had awesome reptiles , the girl who worked was helpful and knowledgeable. They had a full selection of bearded dragon food. This time the reptiles were gone. I drove a long distance to see the dragons . The guy working informed me they don't allow public to see them anymore . He was not very friendly. This place was pretty good at first. I started going there to buy feeders for my beardie about a year and a half ago. I spent a lot on feeders, especially dubias, as my beardie was still growing. I picked up a batch of super worms a few days ago and as soon as I put them into the critter box with oatmeal and a carrot I knew something was wrong with them. They usually really chow down when I get them home. I always use oatmeal and a carrot (which I dry off so it doesn't cause too much moisture). These guys just laid there and a few hours later a bunch were dead. I returned to the store when they reopened a couple of days later. By then about half were dead, the rest dying. The guy behind the counter was the same guy I bought them from. He told me they probably died because I put a carrot in with them. I explained (what I wrote above) and he said they hadn't gotten in any new supers because the supplier had problems with the heat. There were two cups of supers left, many already dead. I asked for a refund since the replacements were in bad shape. He basically said when you sell live animals you can't guarantee them. He said I could take one of the cups of dying supers...I did, and salvaged about ten. I did tell him I've been a loyal customer, having spent quite a lot on feeders and that I'd like to keep coming back. He pretty much shrugged. It's $15 for the supers, a refund wouldn't have broken the bank and it would have brought me back as a customer. I guess they don't care. I'll be driving to Elk Grove to buy my feeders from Pets to Go. read more

I love this place. They have provided me with great information as well as products! I have a bearded dragon and they, for the most part, have had everything I've ever needed to care for my beardie. All the workers are super helpful and friendly. There is this one guy (black hair) that is not as warm. In fact he can be a little cold. I brought my daughter here to buy a hamster. We were immediately greeted by a Grant the owner and his staff. To be fair my daughter knows him as "uncle grant". He set us up with the whole set up and even threw in a few things. I was in a rush so I literally had 15 minutes to make this whole transaction happen, without telling them my time limit they got my out of there within the time I allocated myself. The store itself is a filled with the cutest turtles, which I want. But it also has other reptiles I'm terrified of. Grant showed us a lizard that was cute from a distant because I was too afraid. Lol I appreciated him giving us other options for a pet as well. During our short time there a customer walked back in because she forgot to purchase something previously. After going to a few other local reptile shops looking for a ball python I was so happy to walk into this place and see dozens of ball python morphs. I was really impressed with the selection; not only of ball pythons but a huge variety of reptiles, amphibians and spiders. I chose a beautiful female juvenile ball python. When I got home and took a closer look at her I noticed she had a slight kink in her neck. I plan to keep her but I am disappointed no one said anything and she was priced at market value despite having this defect. read more

Could not be happier to have this place within 30 minutes of my house! I just got into reptile keeping about a year ago and I am SO glad this shop opened up. Short story: This is a really neat little shop just to wander around for anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour depending on how long you want to goggle at their reptiles. And the best part? They absolutely don't mind people who are just visiting! If it's not busy, the employees will happily chat with you about the reptiles and let you take them out to see them. Limited supplies due to the size of the shop, but great prices and good brands of what they do sell. They have reptiles, mammals, fish, and invertebrates and sell supplies for all of those species! Longer story: I've been to this shop twice now. The first time we just stopped by to visit and were amazed by some of the awesome little critters they have for sale, and some just on display for visitors to enjoy. I was surprised that with their size they were able to offer a nice variety of tanks and supplies too and really great prices on the tanks. We didn't stop to ask any questions during our first visit, and the employee was polite and did not pester us to make a purchase or interact with him. Very appreciated! On a second visit today, I actually was looking to purchase a few supplies for a new tank I'm setting up. Was able to find exactly what I was looking for quickly, and of course while we were there we wanted to see all their critters! One of the employees overheard us talking about how we're attending an upcoming Reptile Show and he struck up a conversation about how they will vend at the Sacramento Reptile Expo in a few months, and then as we chatted and admired some of the reptiles, he offered to take them out and let us interact with them as he told us about them...even knowing we weren't looking to purchase. It was so appreciated and I wish I could give them more stars for GREAT customer service! This will be a regular place for us FOR SURE! read more

Don't plan on coming back, unless they make some changes. Overall the store looked like it'd have everything I'd ever need to take care of my various critters. While the reptiles looked fairly happy and in suitable temporary enclosures until they find their forever home, the same cannot be said for their arthropod (tarantulas, centipedes, etc.) section. I'm guessing they buy their stock at the Sac Reptile Expo, because a lot of the arthropods were still in the tiny containers the various sellers transport them in. There was one juvenile/sub-adult goliath bird eater tarantula who was more than 1/2 the size of the shallow container she was in, hardly any room to move, let alone molt. Now arthropods really don't need a whole lot of space, specially when compared to reptiles, so I feel Gx3 should be able to revamp their arthropod section without taking up much space they already have in the store. If they do make these changes, then I'd be more than happy to give them my business again. read more

I give them 5 starts because the guy who works here with the piercings and the beard he's our favorite my husband and I, but the blonde short haired lady with the piercings now she makes me want to give you guys one star because her customer service is pretty bad, now put aside she doesn't let anyone pet her dog that's understandable but her attitude her acknowledgement of customers and all she needs some help, she rolls her eyes and she just talks emotionless as if she's annoyed with being there or something but I'm just stating my what I see and how I feel In place I've been coming to and the energy that I was not greeted with until 15 mins later lol it's sucks.
