Pet Food Express is one of our go-to spots. They have really good quality stuff and the self-service wash is clutch. My dog Lobo somehow always knows when it's bath time lol... but he takes it like a champ and of course gets treats on the way out, so he's not too mad about it. We also did training there with Heidi from Canefida and she's great. Super patient, easy to talk to, and really knows what she's doing. She explains things in a way that actually makes sense and you can tell she cares about the dogs and the owners. Lobo loved her and was always excited to go to class. Lobo's take: "bath was questionable... treats made up for it. training was solid, I'm basically a professional now." Overall just a really good spot. Pet Food Express is my go to store for my pet needs. I get my cat's favorite treats, litter, cat grass, cat nip, and scratchers here. I don't get their food because they eat prescription food and they do not carry it here, but I used to buy their food here too. The store is super organized and clean. They have tons of stuff for your pets, they have a pet wash station, and a vet comes on a schedule too. The staff are friendly and I haven't had issues here. I wish they had the cat grass available more often! Sometimes I come and they have none or the grass is already wilting and drying out. read more

A disappointing visit to Pet food Express. I won't be back. They have had a buy-3-get-4 program for 20+ years. And, although their prices are higher than most other companies, this has brought the prices down to being nearly the same. They just introduced a "customer reward" program that requires the customer's name and phone number, and their b-3-g-4 requires this information now. It's a shame that while our privacy is getting harder to protect, here is another way it's being taken. It was difficult to decide on a rating, because their products and service are consistently so good. But, since this new policy prevents my ever going back, I guess a one star is warranted. read more

I came to this location for the dog showers. Although I think the cost for tokens has gotten expensive, I like the convenience of not giving my dog a bath at my house. Each token is 30 minutes. They provide towels, shampoo and conditioner, and a couple doggy treats. They also provide aprons and dog collars. I also like that they have a dryer setting with each shower. The showers are clean. The last time I went there it was busy and I was stationed at a shower were the water pressure wasn't great. The store itself has a lot of treats and supplies as well. After a shower, I usually pick up a small treat for my dog. There are a lot of great options. read more

They can't seem to keep their dog wash in working order. A few months ago and it was the hot water. A month later the oxygen feature. Today it was the soaps and the oxygen. The towels are raggedy. They recently upgraded the hoses and despite being equipped with the right equipment, they're forever in the way. It was an incredibly frustrating experience overall. read more

My mom and I have been frequenting this store as regulars since it opened. Not only are the staff here in the land park location always helpful and friendly (and of course loving to my doggy who always comes shopping with me)- they are just the right level of helpful when we have questions. Not trying to oversell ;) However this weekend they went next level. I was out shopping this saturday and ended my day stopping into this location to buy food for my dog. when I got home I realized my bracelet (handed down from my mom) was gone. I had no idea where I had lost it as I had been many places during the day. So I got on the phone and called every where I visited and searched everywhere I could think of, in tears. The last call I made was to this location. Immediately, the responded with Yes! we found a bracelet- can you describe it? I did and they said they had it. I zoomed over and not only did they find it, they had realized it was not costume jewelry and had secured it in the safe, hoping someone would show up. And in this day and age, finding a piece of jewelry could have gone a few different ways. I am just so grateful that your team is filled with such considerate and thoughtful people. It's $18 for 25 mins. You make your purchase at the register and then you receive a token to insert into the machine. You get to select your shampoo, then rinse, then blow dry. I have two small dogs with one being a long hair dachshund, and 25 mins was actually pretty long! It got him to dry enough where he wasn't dripping or anything. I loved that they provide collars, leashes, towels, and puppy treats. What's nice is that they even clean up after you! I just didn't like the smell because of course it smelled like wet dog in there, but go figure! I would definitely come back to bathe them again. This review is long overdue. Briefly, the selection for both dogs and cats are 50/50, Meaning the store is literally cut down the middle with a cat side and a dog side. I like this because I have cats and not many pet stores cater to cats. But the reason I want to write this review is to boast about the employees. The people who are hired here are very knowledgeable about any questions you may have! If they don't have the answer they will find it out! I can't stress enough how smart and kind these people are. Called about their vet clinic for shots and was told until 5, work until 4, ran home got my kittens for shots and guess what Oh they changed their hours that week and was not informed I will not be going back to them, the person up front was really rude about it, she told me to look up their website for new hours. Occasionally, they run promotions like this weekend's 25% off friends and family promotion. Their pricing is very competitive and fair. It's a great pet store with an array of food and treats. They also have stations where you can give your dog a bath for very reasonable prices. Awesome sale and as always great customer service. Roxy is finicky but she had two full dinners tonight . Isaac- I think is his name- checked me out and the, I believe manager, was super helpful. She told me about the great sales and the benefits of different foods. My first time here and let me start of by saying how clean this store is. Everything is well organized and easy to find. I came here to give my golden doodle a bath. The staff is so accommodating! So nice and friendly! $18 to use their self serve shower and it's def worth it. There are 2-3 choices of shampoo fragrances you can choose from. You have a total of 25 mins which is plenty to bathe and dry your pet (at least for me). They provide you with towels and treats as well to make the process even easier. My dog Bella usually hates the noise a blow dryer makes, so the treats definitely help! I highly recommend this place and will be bringing my husky in the near future. read more

Wow, this store is amazing! Other Yelpers who have commented on how kind and helpful the staff is are absolutely spot on. They're helpful and attentive. I've gone for both the self-service pet wash and for various purchases. The wash stations are clean and very well kept. Every station is dry and ready to go with several towels. They also have disposable plastic aprons, which in my opinion aren't the most effective because they're so thin that they shift around to the sides of my body. If there were ties around the waist as well, I think that would work better. There are a variety of shampoos to choose from, and the drier is awesome! I do wish they gave you 30 full minutes instead of 25 because my doodle could use an extra 5 minutes of dry time. Other than that, I love it! read more

I LOVE this location!!! This is the only store I get dog food, treats, toys etc. from. I also utilize the dog wash when needed in between my dogs grooming appointments. When I got my puppy 2 years ago, it was a pet food express staff who educated me on the different brands and the benefits. My dog has been on tucker raw and tucker freeze dried raw and has had zero issues!!! More recently Isaac educated my partner and I in the different treats. His suggestion was SPOT ON!!!! I have a French bulldog and we all know they are stubborn BUT when I go near the cabinet where the grain free beef jerky strips are located, he immediately runs to his place mat and sits lol. I can get my boy to immediately stop what he is doing and follow my command when near those treats!!!! Every single recommendation has been spot on!!! This location has the friendliest and most helpful employees! The pet wash here is the best one I've been to in the area. The buttons and timer make it so easy. Other store locations have a different set up for their wash area that isn't as easy to use as this one. This is the best pet food express in Sacramento! I absolutely love coming here. the staff is always so friendly and my dog is always extra spoiled when I come here. The self dog baths are unbeatable and very needed for my large dog. Every time I come here the staff is always eager to help me and has some great advice to give and very knowledgeable. I always seem to interact with Evan, Carla, and Sierra! There's another gentleman and literally I know his name but idk why I'm blanking on it in this particular moment ugh (he just adopted a new dog with his partner and loves cats). But always such a pleasure to speak with these staff members in particular. Mia (my dog) loves coming here and her baths are a breeze!
