BEWARE. DO NOT do business with this company. They have stolen money from my son's bank account. They agreed to a one time charge of $95 to use the facility temporarily, which was 2 months. They have charged my son's account randomly with different amounts and purchases to commit BANK FRAUD. After several attempts to contact them, they will not answer or respond to any form of communication. The bank's fraud dept is investigating. They are being reported to the FDACS . We will also file a civil lawsuit once the bank concludes their investigation. read more

Most the TVs are usually off and not playing anything. Trainers act like they own the place taking up multiple machines while their clients just sit around (on other equipment). The bathroom is a place you do not want to use, usually has a smell and just feels like it hasn't been touched in a while. Maybe if I was doing the boxing classes it would make sense why the monthly payment is so high. People leave bags and equipment everywhere and no one's says anything, no order or rules being enforced. I have also seen people walking around eating while speaking to others working out, more of a social feel than a gym feel. The gym overcharged me for several months after my final payment date. It took numerous back-and-forth emails to get the owners to close my account. Even after that, they tried to reopen it, falsely claiming I had been attending daily (despite not having set foot in the gym for months). More emails followed, revealing that the owners didn't even remember my name, despite promising to close the account a week earlier. Only after I threatened legal action did they finally stop charging me. Avoid this gym. read more

The gym was really a mess, the weights were always misplaced. The workers wouldn't do much to keep the gym clean, and the machines are always broken or shut down. They always move around where stuff is at, and they'd shut down the gym for days without saying anything in advance. The owners don't really have good business morals. Unfortunate to say that this gym is wayyy overpriced for the poor quality of the equipment and the gym. Also when you want to leave the gym you still get charged for 2 months. Definitely one of the most bad-ass gyms in Tampa! The Water's location offers boxing classes and cardio training and you can even sign up with a personal trainer, which is surprisingly very affordable. The gym offers weekly, monthly and yearly rates if you are like me and don't like to make commitments or long-term contracts. I love this gym! They have every piece of equipment you can think of : brand new boxing ring, bags , machines, smith machines , free weights, jump ropes literally everything. They're cardio section Is also amazing with tons of treadmills stair masters and spin bikes ! Everything is new and clean !! They keep this place sanitized so I wasn't as concerned coming back post COVID quarantine! Also it's 24/7 so I can go at any time of the day Christmas New Years and don't have to deal with crowds if I go early so that's a plus right now !! Overcrowded with rusty old machines in a desperate attempt to overcompensate for how poorly operated this gym is. The water fountain is broken and the one working one spits out warm water. When told about this repeatedly, they said the plumbing is old and that it would be a while before they can get around to fixing it. No foam rollers because "members keep stealing them" which is very hard for me to believe considering they are posted up front and their members are charged an average of $30+ a head. Despicably corrupt business. They tell you about "annual cleaning fees" last minute as you are signing up. Then they tell you you have to pay for the first and last month up front. Fine, but they fail to disclose that there is no way out of the contract unless you have someone take over your payments. Do yourself a favor and forget this place unless you are like me and have been burned in which case you probably never will. Lesson learned. read more

Hand down, the best gym I've found in Tampa. They have the most unique equipment and you won't that in the larger commercial gyms. The only other gym I've been to that has just as good equipment is at USF but you can't really compare a gym to a division 1 college gym. I will say this, the only advantage the USF gym has is that they have more equipment; and a tibia machine which I didn't know existed until I worked out there. Not to mention it's open 24/7 and also has a boxing ring with trainers. My only complaint is that they don't have sanitation stations. Other than that, it's perfect. read more

When I started working out here it was rough I must say. It's a 24/7 gym but had no locks so anyone would just come in. They recently put a lock on it and the crowds look like normal people now lol it's mostly weights here and all equipment are older. But you cannot beat $20/mo for 24/7 access! This particular Calta's business model is fraud. The "manager" appears to be a homeless guy who lives in the back. He is a complete liar. When canceling a membership, he refuses to give any documentation of cancellation. He lies that he canceled, when he did not. The charges keep coming. He claims that he cannot cancel on any day except Monday. He then claims that there is a 60 day cancellation period where the fees keep on coming even though he has collected his key. When he is confronted, he gets extremely hostile and threatening. I am in the process of dealing with the finance company that collects the fees. They are called NAC There is a sign on the front of the building that says no contracts. You may be happier someplace else. read more

The worst experience I have ever had with a gym. They advertise their 10$ a month, and then neglect to tell you about the other fees when you sign up. Typical gym shady ness. It cost me nearly 100$ to sign up and I had no idea until AFTER I paid. I ended up having to move two months after I made this purchase, and they were everything but helpful trying to cancel my membership. Although we talked to them on three separate occasions and they said they would terminate my membership, I kept getting charged month after month and had to dispute the charges with my credit card company to get my money back. The gym recently purchased a lot of brand new machines and equipment, replacing all older equipment. I was super excited for this because they did have older equipment before. Now they have high end machines and weights for people's use. Bathrooms are always well kept. The staff is very friendly and have helped me with anything I need so far. I have yet to try their tanning facility. Overall, the gym is nice, the bathrooms are clean, the 24/7 is really nice for super late or super early workout sessions. So I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a well kept gym with quality equipment. read more

The gym is certainly suitable for our needs. The best thing about the place is the personal trainer, Anthony Williams. He has brought me, at age 78, from a power wheelchair (the doctors warned me that I might never walk) to a walker to a cane and, now, usually unaided. This gym has NEW Management and has never been better!! The Gym is clean and a friendly atmosphere. Management and the personal trainers are so helpful. BEWARE this gym is ran by crooks. When I initially signed up I requested to be put under a monthly contract. When I decided to cancel I found out that the person who signed me up actually put me under a year around contract. This means no cancellation fee! In addition they are charging me 53 a month and it's not worth it! I only signed up because it was 24hrs and had punching cardio classes (THAT THEY DON"T HAVE ANYMORE). So you've been warned. Poorly operated and maintained gym. I was a member for about a year, when I switched gyms. Originally chose this gym because of its location but trust me, it's worth the extra few minute drive. It's fairly standard gym with some cardio equipment and mostly free weights. A good amount of the equipment is poorly maintained, broken, or rusted. But honestly it's the customer service and management that caused me to write this poor review. There's an annual $40 "maintenance fee" that they wait until the last part of signing up to tell you about. They also fail to mention that if you would like to cancel your membership, you have to pay for two more months before it goes through. EVEN THEN (as I did), they may continue to charge you because the employees don't really know what they're doing. If you ask the "manager" to try and fix something (such as an improperly canceled membership), he says he can't. All around, a skeevy way of running a business and you'd be much better off putting your trust and money in another establishment. read more

The ease of extended hours and an access key allows for me to workout without worrying about time. The monthly fee is great and I can even join Punch Boxing as they opened one right next door. If they would allow me to give them less than one start I would. Horrible experience at this location. I cancelled my membership (in person) about 6 months ago and they stated they never received the paperwork so they kept billing me. I realized this months later since it was such a small amount of money per month, but once I did realize it I called them and explained I moved out of the city, from Tampa to Miami, I also told them I could provide my lease as proof that I was not leaving at the city (sadly I lost my cancellation receipt during the move, as everyone knows this happens something during moves) and they stated this was not proof enough so they send me to collection without even contacting me. The manager would not understand my position at all, and kept saying I had to pay for this service even though I never went there again I am living miles away from them!!!. I ended up paying almost 100 dollars for a few months of membership that I never got to enjoy. So basically, they will lie to you, treat you like you are an idiot and rob you, because, there's no other way of calling what they do. I will not recommend Calta's 24/7 Fitness in Waters to anyone I know. They are thiefs, plain and simple.
