Here we are a couple years later and Shannon is STILL the only person in town I trust to do my shellac. Not only that, but I trust her with my toes, dying my eyelashes and eyebrows, waxing, and quarterly facials. She's knowledgable and helpful and never pushy. Shannon's not about selling you a product or an upgrade, just doing what is best for your skin/hair/nails. I even text her when I have completely non-related skin issues. (Help! I got sunburnt! Or My chin is breaking out what do I do!) She's always right there to help. She even does eyelash extensions! Y'ALL these are LIFE-CHANGING. They took wonderful care of us, made us feel super comfortable and proceeded to take their time with our hands and feet with a gorgeous end result. I've visited Shannon, who is Gypsy Apple Beauty, twice now, and have been so satisfied with her work both times. I'm seriously thinking of having her manicures and become a semi-regular event in my schedule. She is very thorough, and my nails look beautiful. She gave me an "American" manicure, and was open to various color combinations. I have been discouraged before by nail technicians who told me that what I wanted is not common and would not look good! I'm paying for it.. so I'd like it! I've been against paying spa prices for manicures, because the stereotypically Vietnamese owned and operated nail joints are SO much cheaper and have the potential to still look awesome. But sometimes you don't know what you're going to get at the cheaper salons - the kid who looks barely old enough to have a nail tech license may end up doing your manicure, and he or she sends you out of the store so soon that your polish chips off before you even leave. Or maybe the nail filing job is messy. Or the nail tech says what you want is going to look bad, so you need to pick something else... I feel okay about paying for quality at Gypsy Apple! read more

Try texting her for an appointment if you are having trouble reaching Shannon. She does not like taking phone calls when she is working- very professional. I come see her every other week, and always feel 50x after after, my nails are perfect every time and she is just a very delightful to be around. Best of all, she does not charge that much more than the Vietnamese nail salons that rush through your mani pedis, doing a sloppy job with questionable products. The promised update for my shellac manicure! I didn't show any signs of peeling until 12 days! This is a huge improvement for my nails, as I said before I've had shellac manicures last literally one day and only one ever lasted over a week. Also, Shannon was nice enough to offer me an "express manicure" every other visit when I don't necessarily need all the cuticle work. This saves me money and time...in addition, her express manicure was better than the whole deluxe service at other salons. She's not getting rid of me any time soon. read more

LOVE Shannon! Purchased a Sharing Spree coupon for two shellac services. I had never tried shellac before, but let me just say - I am now a shellac convert. I was hesitant at first becuase I had heard some people have negative experiences with it (chipping after a few days, or weakening their nails) but they must not have gone to Shannon. My nails look great, and the first one lasted just about two weeks. I got my second one just the other day, and my nails are strong and gorgeous. The other nice thing is that when you need it removed, she will do it for free - I'd heard of some places charging up to 10 bucks just to get the shellac taken off?? Goofy. Shannon is super sweet and you can tell she loves what she does. She's also expanding into additional space in their building soon, and will offer facials and other spa services as well as nails, so I'm excited to go back again. Today was my first appointment with Shannon and there's not a review high enough for her service and personality. Shannon is one of the most kind, gentle people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She made me feel so welcomed and relaxed from the moment I walked in. My nails were a horrible mess when I got there, but when I left they looked amazing! She was so patient when I was picking out the colors, taking time to put a little sample of each on so that I got just the right color. I really enjoy going to see Shannon to have my nails done. She does a great job and my nails always look great. I also love that she puts descriptions and pricing for each option right on the scheduling site, so that you can sign up for exactly what you want and know ahead of time how much it will cost. Not only that, she tells you exactly how long what you signed up for is going to take (which I appreciated so I could plan my day around the appointment!). Not only is she a fantastic nail technician, she is also the SWEETEST person to spend time with. We chatted throughout my whole session like we were old friends. I appreciated that she is incredibly meticulous with her work, and if she doesn't 100% love something, she'll redo it. She also gave me options the whole time I was there, which really personalized my experience. You choose a drink when you get there, she asks about the temperature, and she asks about specific nail colors (I thought there was only one way to do a French manicure, but she knows many!). I left feeling like I got exactly what I wanted and more. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my nails now that I know about Shannon. WARNING! DO NOT GET YOUR EYELASHES TINTED WITH SHANNON!!! Almost 7 weeks ago, I got mine tinted with her and I am STILL dealing with discoloration under my eyes. I had to go to the dermatologist because after 1 month because it was still no better. She was unable to provide an adequate barrier protecting the entire area under my eye. There was a chemical reaction between the dye and the unprotected areas. To make matters worse, she completely denied all responsibility and tried to put blame back on me. It was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a salon in my life. It was so bad that I had to file complaints with the Cosmetology Board as well as the Better Business Bureau. read more

Visiting Nashville with 6 other girls for a bachelorette party and we came here on our first afternoon. This cute little place has such a great atmosphere and you definitely feel like you're getting taken care of. They were very friendly and offered us mimosas which were amazing. Shannon did a fantastic job on my nails and had plenty of suggestions for places to go around Nashville. I told her that I bite my cuticles and they're always dry and she recommended a product that they have (very cheap $6) but wasn't pushy to buy their product and offered other remedies as well. I bought their product though bc she used it on me while I got my manicure and polish. And bc she was such an amazing and friendly woman. All the positive reviews about Shannon are correct and then some! She was wonderful, both with me and my daughter. My silly little girls likes to wear several colors on her toes and Shannon was the first to ask her if that is what she wanted! She let her try on many colors and was sweet and thoughtful the whole time. She does little things like opening up your bottle of water for you and making sure the water temperature is just right. She is a kind and gentle person and truly creates a relaxing environment. The music was perfect and at the right volume and I never felt rushed. She greeted us at the door and got my daughters name right, another first for us. So many more positive things I could say. No wonder she is booked up solid all the time.
