Gyro Zone is a small eatery in a strip mall. There are about 5 booths and 2 tables for dine in customers. They have an extensive menu of Greek favorites. We all got the gyros in a pita. You can also get it in a wrap for $1 more. It was loaded with meat, Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onion and the tzatziki sauce. We also got the Greek fries. It is topped with tzatziki sauce and I think feta cheese crumbles. Both of them were delicious! There is a large lot so parking shouldn't be a problem at all. The gentlemen taking orders was friendly and service was quick. Would love to try other menu items but I am partial to gyros. read more

We have been here a few times now and the food has been consistently good. We have had the chicken shawarma on a salad and as a wrap. Hubby has also tried the lamb & beef shawarma and said it was very good. The loaded fries are also very good. Servings are generous and I usually end up bringing home leftovers. Service is at the counter and the staff are friendly. Place your order and they call when it's ready. Nothing special about the ambiance. It seems a lot - if not most - of their customers are carry out of by a delivery service. There are a few tables to dine in. Damn, Gyro Zone, you have no good reason to be so awesome but you always are. It's in a sketchy side street in UP (if anything in UP can be called sketchy) but this is seriously one of the only genuine mom-and-pop type places in our whole homogeneous, Applebee's loving town. The owners and cooks are so casual and friendly -- it's just not typical. And they must be churning out those gyros and fries with love because the food is just SPECIAL. If you follow my reviews, you know that I take my teenage son out for lunch/dinner every week which means we're gradually working out way through practically every casual burger, pizza, and gyro joint in Tacoma. And this -- smack dab in our hood - is one of the best. BTW Seoul Chicken around the corner is also good, though more pricey. But I digress -- I just have two more words - GREEK FRIES. It was just okay? The flavor of the fries was good, but they were undercooked. The cauliflower was the most disappointing being meh in flavor, super small portion, overpriced. My wife and I recently visited Gyro Zone and we really liked it. We were from out of town watching a game and stopped in. The staff is very kind and very attentive to customer service. The bring your food to the table for you, and you clean up your own table. The food was delicious. I had the falafel sandwich as a wrap and so did my wife. The food portions were larger portions. We shared an order of Greek style fries with tzatziki sauce and feta cheese that were also delicious. The food was warm fresh and tasty! This restaurant is definitely superior to some of the other quick Greek type of places I have tried in the greater Seattle and Tacoma area. The vibe is very relaxed and very casual. Very good restaurant located in University Place that specializes in Greek and Mediterranean dishes. I had to go with my favorite on this type of food and it's a good old fashioned gyro in a pita. The meat was very good in my gyro and the ingredients were very fresh tasting which is very important to me. I also ordered some French Fries dusted with some seasoning which was very good also. Gyro Zone is absolutely amazing. My husband and I come here all of the time, and somehow, it tastes better every single visit! I always order the chicken shawarma pita sandwich & my husband orders the lamb & beef platter. We also usually get a Greek fry to split and sometimes the baklava as well. Everything is always seasoned perfectly and has so much flavor. We feel it is well priced and the service is amazing every time. The staff is always extremely friendly and they work so hard--it is always the same people every time we visit. Finding delicious Greek food can be a challenge (especially when you've just moved to a new state), but I am so grateful we found Gyro Zone! I love Gyro Zone! It's the perfect place to pick up a delicious and healthy meal when I'm too tired to cook on a weeknight or when I'm busy hosting guests on a weekend. Holy cow, I have had gyro platters in so many different states such as New York, but this spot has got to have the best seasoned gyro meat that I have ever had. My boyfriend loved the lamb here, which is huge as he prefers chicken as his main protein but he even was trying to steal bites from my platter. His chicken gyro was absolutely divine though, and stuffed with delicious vegetables, sauce and tasty chicken. We also shared the falafel and it was you guessed it, absolutely yummy!
