Overall this place wasn't bad. The baba ghanoush was great with excellent texture and flavor. The baklava was some of the best I've ever had with very flaky pastry and perfect ratio of tender nuts and syrup. Plus the piece I received was nice and big. I will definitely be returning in the future just for more baklava. The salad dressing on my salad was also delicious. Unfortunately the rest of my meal was just fine, not the best or the worst I've ever had. The hummus could have used a touch more lemon juice and seasoning I think. The gyro meat was in smaller pieces than I am used to and was a bit dry. I was also disappointed in the tzatziki. The service was good and my food was prepared efficiently and tasted fresh. Great spot for CARRY OUT!!! Inside is the place is unattractive. When we stopped by only one person was working and he was SUPER BUSY!!!! So recently my mom brought up that we should do weekly pick up orders to some local eateries again to help support small businesses and honestly how could I say no, I love food. And with covid I've come to realize I miss having the freedom to go out weekly. But ordering takeout is the next best thing. My mom placed an order the other night we got a gyro with lamb, a shawarma with lamb, a falafel sandwich and two orders of the gyro zone fries which I have to say were my absolute favorite thing from here. I'd come back just for the zone fries. The Falafel was ok but kind of dry/ flavorless and then the shawarma meat was a bit different and I'm not sure I'd order that again. The highlight was definitely the gyro with lamb and the gyro zone fries. The meat they used with this had a bunch of flavor and the tzatziki sauce was amazing. If you're hungry id recommend ordering something with the gyro or sandwiches because on their own they are not that big. Ordering over the phone was easy and pickup was a breeze. Did not enjoy my gyro at all. Thick chunks of meat and hardly any sauce at all. The only good thing was the nice warm pita bread. The main reason for 2 stars is because a worker had black gloves on, took our cash, touched the register, money, then her hair. Never changed her gloves and touched some food. We've been looking for a gyro place in Tacoma and I came across Gyro Zone on Yelp with good reviews, so we gave it a try. My husband ordered a Classic Gyro and fries and I got a Greek Salad add Sharwarma and a small order of falafel (didn't get any pictures but definitely will next time!). The salad (large) was big enough to feed 3 people. The meat was tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly. The falafel were AMAZING, the dark brown color on the outside and the light green inside, bursting with flavor. My husband enjoyed his gyro as well. Gyro zone makes great gyros! We ordered a gyro salad, super gyro, baklava, and falafel. The gyro was exactly what you would expect which is a good thing (I wouldn't change it at all). The gyro meat was seasoned well! The baklava was delicious. The falafel wasn't my favorite but it wasn't bad. Omg!!! I had some super yummy pictures to share but apparently I'll have to go back and re snap some more. LOL!!!! I haven't been here in about 12 years. The new owners are excellent in customer service, quality food and far prices. I was excited and nervous to eat but I waited outside for about 20 minutes watching customers come and out before mustering up the courage to enter. I order the gyro plate, which consists of a mix lamb & beef, Hummus, salad, rice and warm pita bread. The other order was a traditional gyro w/ regular fries & 2 orders of different baklava. The meat was delicious, salad was fresh, rice was moist & sauce was on point! The fries nice & crispy! Overall it's a 5/5 for us, looking forward to returning and trying some of the other menu items. I ordered a falafel sandwich and a fried cauliflower sandwich. Also mistakenly ordered an extra side of fries, these particular meals come with fries already. My daughter had the cauliflower sandwich and I had the falafel. Both sandwiches looked much better than they tasted. They were fresh, well prepared and unfortunately bland in my opinion. The fries were simply there. They weren't the proper send off for the excursion. We were both hungry, but neither of us ate more than a few bites. The service followed a similar pattern. They said hello and not much more. Maybe that's just how it goes there. The people sitting in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their time there, so something is probably going right. All were made fresh, tasted amazing with not too much spice or overly salty, and just enough of everything to make an amazing dinner! I think the tzatziki is a tad bit minty (and I'm a mint fan).... Maybe if I had the Gyro instead of salad it would even it out a bit. Either way 5 STARS for taste, quality, quantity, and service!!!
