Traveling from out of town, in for the World Cup. Yelp never lets me down! My two sons went golfing for the day at Chambers Bay. My wife Kathleen, and I spent the day at Pile Market Place. Had a great lunch at Lowell Fish Market Restaurant. HOWEVER, Picking the boys up from golfer 5:00 pm. Yelp reported 4.7 starts with over 477 reviews. Called Marzanos and the host said explained he could give us a table for only 1 hour 25 minutes. Took the table And SO GLAD WE DID. I have traveled all over this great country, and enjoyed many different cuisine's, including awesome seafood this week. But today's meal was beyond AWESOME. Our server gave us the specials We started with their home made ricotta that was so thick you needed a knife to spread it., along on the same plate their home made pesto and toasted bread which is slightly toasted My wife also ordered the Roasted stuffed figs with Goat cheese slightly warm Just WONDERFUL DINNERS Two of us The Bolognese Lasagne One A bolognese with extra meatball One had a seafood of mussels,, clams, scallops clams and shrimp Over a healthy sizeable order of linguine We all shared their home made Berry cake That one piece of cake was sweet and heavy on one end and light and airy with sweet light home made whip cream Blueberries, raspberries so so good and huge So big it had to lay flat on the plate I have eaten at Several NYC Italian restaurants This PNW RESTAURANT far outweighs them in FOOD, SERVICE and Atmosphere I live in Delaware, Wish it was closer I would visit this restaurant weekly!!!!

WOW we had such a wonderful time we are coming back next weekend! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a beautiful Italian restaurant with a small, intimate homey feeling (looks like it's in a house!)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is complimentary bread and a salad with our dinner which was so wonderful. The service was attentive. I got the cacio e pepe which I'm planning on getting again next weekend because it was so good. My partner had one of the specials, a trout, which he wished he had one of the pastas instead once trying mine. The pastas are all fresh & hand made and he can't wait to try some of them next weekend! We are excited to come back, this is my favorite Italian restaurant here in Tacoma. PS. Absolutely get the tiramisu & house red

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The cutest restaurant with amazing food and the perfect ambiance! Makes you feel like you're at Nonna's house.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was friendly and attentive. We had a perfect date night and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We started with the Polpo (Octopus) appetizer, grilled perfectly and SO tender, not chewy. We also ordered the special Lamb t-bone with artichokes and spaghetti carbonara. Our bellies were so happy and full but we couldn't help but order the Limencello bread pudding w/ Lavender honey ice cream dessert to go (only picture we did not take). Once we tried the dessert, we wished we had ordered two and not just one! It was SO yummy!! We will definitely be back to try more things and hopefully order more Limencello bread pudding to go!

Mariano's has a very welcoming and charming ambiance. The staff were all personal, friendly, and knowledgeable about every item on the menu. My daughter made the reservation and mentioned it was my birthday but I was surprised by the adorable birthday card presented on the table! The chef is amazing with flavors and textures and everything we ate was delicious- I can't say anything would be better than anything else so just try it all!! If I'm back in the area I know I'll be back at Marzano's!

Marzano's is a Tacoma staple located right outside PLU. Marzano's will never let you down. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is in an old home, so feels so intimate and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is always fantastic. The food is always impeccable. Our table shared the blue cheese, candied walnuts, persimmons with flat bread- delicious! I tried the parpadelle special with a side of meatballs. You can absolutely never go wrong with their lasagna, some of the best I've had! It is very rare now in restaurants where your meal comes with fresh baked bread and a salad! Marzano's- still one of the best.

Finally tried Marzano and how have I not been here sooner?! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love that it's in an old house, it's so charming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was a little slow at first, but to be fair, it was packed. The food was fantastic--no notes. I seriously can't wait to come back.

Made reservations for a birthday celebration, hadn't been here before; what an amazing restaurant! [[HIGHLIGHT]]First of all, it looks like this little house and it's like you're eating out of someone's kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience walking in seeing the little beautiful tables set up, fireplace and the decor is just so classic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything is authentic, and the service was amazing. We were served delicious bread and butter, and we decided on bruschetta for an appetizer, The bruschetta had pesto plus the usual bruschetta ingredients and topped with goat cheese and balsamic glaze. We could not stop eating it!. The meal came with a delicious salad with a vinaigrette and we ordered the spaghetti Bolognese with a added, meatball, and rigatoni with mushrooms. The food was authentic, and we were very pleased! When we got to our reserved table, there was a nice handwritten birthday card in a little stand. It was such a nice touch. The portions are pretty big. We each only ate half of our food and packed up the rest. We will definitely come again, it is our hidden gem!

Wonderful and cozy atmosphere, feels like you are being served delicious food in the comforts of home. Amazing staff, all very welcoming and attentive. You can't help but feel special as if they are there just to make your experience the best. Everything is absolutely delicious!! The flavors of their sauces, the fresh pasta, calamari and bread are like none other. Hands down the best Italian restaurant! Save room for dessert and treat yourself to the best tiramisu on this coast!

Very cute homey family run Italian place in south Tacoma. This place is super cute. It looks like it's in an old converted home. The pasta was fresh made and service was good. My co worker ordered the lasagne and I had unpronounceable brigioloti(?) haha! Maybe I ordered the wrong item or the flavor profile was not my cup of tea. The pasta was cooked perfectly but the sauce wasn't my favorite. If I'm going to eat this many carbs, I need the earth to move. My co worker kept adding chili flakes to her lasagne. I guess she felt it too bland. We thought the food was good but not earth shattering. If I come back to Tacoma I would try another place.

Location, eh... No bar... but who cares! The food was outrageously delicious, unique and top notch. Our server was helpful, sweet, knowledgeable and kind. It was quite homey with great outdoor dining spots as well. Prices are on the high end, but worth it. Homemade pasta, super fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. Freshly baked bread, too. Can you imagine melt in your mouth calamari? I didn't know there was even such a thing! Squid ink pasta? Just say, "Yes please!" No matter how full, try dessert even if you share one with the table, so rich and yummy. Perfect ending to a wonderful evening. PS thank you for not kicking us out as old friends laughed and enjoyed a perfect night long past closing, whoops...

It's been a while since I visited, but a 5-Star review is so deserved for Marzano's. I reserved a large table for my birthday and they did such a wonderful job to accommodate my large party. It's a bit tucked away and I loved that almost hidden feel to the restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with simple yet elegant touches to impress. The food was absolutely fantastic and I can't rave enough about the Diavola pizza, tomato bruschetta, and both the gluten free and chocolate cake! Truly divine food with amazing service. They also did a fantastic job at accommodating for food allergies in our group and were very careful with gluten cross-contamination. We were all super impressed and left with full bellies and wonderful memories! I will be back!

I can see why this place has so many great reviews. I celebrated my birthday here. The food is great, I've been searching for a good authentic Italian restaurant for a very long time. It's so hard to find good pasta carbonara in Seattle area, but I finally found the one! Top service, staff is personable and friendly. I loved the non-alcoholic choices. Definitely going to come back!

My boyfriend got their garden wrap with a garlic and herb tortilla while I got their Washington Apple wrap with a garlic and herb tortilla. The wraps had a great ratio of all the listed ingredients and you can yaste everything in each bite. The ingredients tasted and looked fresh! The interior is very cozy with plenty of seating that accommodates solo, couples or small groups. They have great lighting in there, both natural and inside. They had some old school RnB playing which was nostalgic for me as I heard a lot of these as a pre-teen. I can say that they have some of the freshest ingredients to build a salad and the options are numerous in your choices to build a salad. I decided to add tuna to my salad. I thought this would be a great touch to such a fresh salad. The Caesar dressing was good and went well with the salad. The most disturbing part of this salad was the tuna. As it turns out, the tuna is canned with a strong fishy smell and flavor. I had assumed that the tuna with be cubed or sliced. This is a great place for vegans and vegetarians as well. Now, the fishy taste of the tuna was so string that I immediately brushed my teeth to get the taste out of my mouth. Please keep in mind that these salads start at $12-15 dollars plus the add-ons you like. Since I love salads, I had many extras and the salad was $26. My only regret was that I could not give back the tuna. I will try this place again, but for god sake change the tuna or skip it all together.

I always encouraged people to patronize any of the three locations. I bragged on the quality, the quantity, and the deliciousness. After my experience yesterday never again! I have noticed that for the last couple of years the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have gone up. Granted, prices have gone up on everything, not just at this restaurant. So that part is understandable. I'm not mad about that. What I'm extremely frustrated about, i'm actually angry, is that they served me a salad with barely any meat on it. I got the ruben salad last night through the drive up. When she handed me the bag out the window, it literally felt like a feather. When I got home, it was basically all lettuce, a tiny bit of saurkraut, some croutons, my garlic deal dressing, and a very a thin slice of the corned beef or whatever the meat was supposed to be. Literally, they give me a salad with a piece of meat smaller than the length and width of my pinky finger. That bowl of lettuce cost me sixteen dollars plus my tip. Yeah I'm angry about it. It is very rare for me to get angry. Getting home in Kingston, expecting to have an awesome dinner, and having this after I paid that much. Infuriating. I will give them credit for having the nicest crew. They have awesome customer service at the drive up, thus the 2 stars this time. Also grilled cheese is one of my all-time favorite sandwiches no matter how plain! - Salami: had some peppers and jalapeños to balance the peppery salami throughout this sandwich.
