Always amazing food. Best gyros I've ever had and unique! The fries always hit the spot.

Obviously I'm missing something based on the other reviews. I thought the food was sub par at best. I just got the regular gyros and fries. There were a bunch of soggy french fries in my sandwich and hanging out the bottom. WTF??? The meat really didn't have much flavor and the french fries were soggy. I am new to the Colorado area and was craving some good Greek food. I drove 27 minutes to this particular place because of the ratings here. I ordered the number one value meal with the classic lamb gyro, and fries and a drink. I must say I wasn't terribly impressed. The fries were better than the Gyro because there was barely any (if at all), tzatziki sauce on it and that's what I look for in the gyros. I'm not sure if I'll ever go back, unless I'm really wanting their fries. I would've given it 2 stars, but the food was hot and they're not stingy with the portions, either. read more

I RAN to make this review. Barely just ate. I got a chicken combo and it was to die for. The lemon and seasoning on the chicken made for one of the best I have ever had. I think the flatbread was homemade to, it was fluffy and fresh feeling and tasted so good. The fries were crispy and not overly seasoned. The staff was so nice as well. Would come back! Can I just say not only was this the best food but also service I've ever received!i was all over the place with what I should order because I am gluten free, the person taking my order was so patient and accommodating to my rare requests. One of my late night go-tos! Centrally located on lower East Colfax, Gyroz is a good spot to grab a bite after catching a show/drinking/whatever you do with your free time (I'm not judging!). I've always gone through the drive through window and I've always ordered the same thing: Greek salad with chicken. Definitely not the healthiest of salads (it comes with pita and a healthy serving of feta cheese), but also not the *worst* option after a night of drinking (I'm looking at you, entire Cosmo's pizza). My partner always orders the #2 combo with a chicken gyro, fries, and a drink. The food is surprisingly tasty for this slightly shabby looking spot. Prices are really decent here (we can get two big meals for about $18). There's a parking lot if you'd like to dine in, although my introvert-self suggests getting it to go and eating it in the comfort of your own home. Gyroz is really close to some popular bars and music venues and there can definitely be some characters in the area. Keep your wits about you, get yourself some hangover prevention (a big ol' gyro), and rock on, Denver. read more

I used to really like this place till I kept seeing the cooks eat while they work. With everything going on how is that sanitary. Plus they have an issue closing prior to the posted close time. They should really work on these two main problems I've noticed!! read more

I live around the corner from Gyroz. Literally, I can see it from the house everyday. My wife is anti hype and I'm just brain dead anymore from taking care of our baby everyday. After months of snow and resistance, we finally succumbed to the Gyroz sign illuminating across the street. We busted out into the crowd of hippest kids all dressed up and waiting to see the next YouTube famous artist. The guy that is generally at the counter is genuinely a sweetheart and seems to be often entangled in some unfortunate messes concocted by the universe. (We've been back several times since). He's incredibly personable. There's a nice human element at this location. The food is reasonably priced and tasty! The Chicken Gyro is great! And, of course I'll go back! read more

I've had a few recent opportunities to check out this eatery that is in the old Pizza Hut space...and been pleasantly surprised each time. Nothing fancy, just a gyro both times and also baklava. Extremely tasty, and for the gyro especially, plentiful portion. Moreso, staff was always super friendly and genuinely nice - asking if I needed sauce for my food or a cup of water while I waited. read more

Great experience! First time I ordered online thru Yelp. I was at a conference in Denver, where I don't know my way around. Ordered the basic gyro, paid easily by phone, then followed driving directions to get to the store. Gyroz was ready for me, all I had to do was pick my order at the drive thru. Cmon you guys claim to be a authentic gyro spot but use Cholula hot sauce for your gyros and then when I went to pay the associate at the window took my money and I was hoping for quarters but he gave me back all dimes and I asked if he had any quarters and he goes "is that a serious question" and i go yeah man I need them for laundry and he just goes nope and closes the window on me super rudely. There food is literally awful, super dry mean, no veggies, sauce was barely on there. I get you work on colfax and deal with terrible people but don't take that out on me for asking a simple question....I will never be going back here and seriously save yourself the 10 bucks and go to cheba hut or good times. read more

This is not an impressive looking restaurant on the outside, but the food is fantastic. I get their falafel wrap and it is SO good and so reasonably priced for a meal! I didn't even realize they had dessert until I just saw another review. Well now I need to go back. read more

OMG.... I love eating at this place! It's in a convenient location on Colfax Ave (The 'Fax) and the food is always really yummy! The staff has always been super cool with me each time I go in and they engage in conversations with their customers... If you call your reataruaunt Gyroz, you better deliver some solid gyros. This place does! And that's all they have, so if you don't want some variation of a gyro, don't go to a place called Gyroz. They do what they do and they do it well! Not the cheapest gyro in denver, but totally worth it. They also have little packets of hot sauce that add the perfect amount of heat and compliment the flavors without covering them up. Holy Gyro, Batman! I've been to all the key places in Denver to scoop up a good gyro, and while a couple come close, none compare to this place. Whether its the Gyro or Chicken Sandwich, its sure not to disappoint! The meat is cooked to perfection (never dry or overcooked), the fries are crisp and delicious and the tzaziki is made to the T. They load up your sandwich with meat - no skimping here! I won't even lie, I ate a gyro from here 4x one week...And loved every second of every bite. When the driver arrived, I noticed he didn't have my drink, just one bag of food. I asked him if he had my drink and he said he didn't receive one when he picked up my food. So I take it inside and inspect further. I ordered several extra cups of tzatziki sauce and did not receive those along with the 2 cups that are supposed to come with 2 of my dishes. We were also missing the side of hummus but we had the pita bread it came with. I have ordered before from this place and the occasional extra tzatziki never made it in the bag and usually, I can overlook that, I am service industry myself. So, my roommate and I walked to the restaurant to resolve this as this was clearly deliberate mistake on the restaurant's end. When we get there, some kid receives us at the counter. I try to start to explain that we were missing food that I paid for, but he quickly tries to shut me down saying he won't do anything- That I have to contact GrubHub. I tried to stop and tell it wasn't GH fault, it's the store's. He wouldn't budge on the issue. I was extremely angry by this point but was trying to keep it civil. I was starting to slip, so before I did or said something I regret, I walked out. My roommate tried to one more time tell him we just wanted our food, the guy then 86th us. I would have reported this last night, but the GH website was not letting me proceed to this page, so now I'm typing this from a work computer. I am angry, I was robbed and there seems to be no justice. I don't get to eat out often this one really stings. I work hard for my money and to have some punk ass teenager rob me of that money is not right. He should be fired because he is a filthy thief. read more

I was on a driving job and saw GYROZ as I drove off the 225 at Iliff. On my way back I drove through and got a #1 and a side of Falafel since I'd never had them. I just had to try the Falafel because of the smell alone. They were disks of pure spicy delight. I think I've found another favorite food at 71 years old. I couldn't try anything else until I got home hours later so I microwaved the Gyro and it was delicious. The best I've had in a very long time. May I ad that the young man that took my order and delivered it at the window was friendly, well groomed and seemed to enjoy what he was doing. A real breath of fresh air. Thank you. This place has an attached hookah shop which is... interesting! The prices are very fair, i got a falafel wrap for around $7 very late at night because I was STARVING after a night out. The food was ready decently fast, and I wish I would've gotten the falafel combo!! For just an extra dollar or so you can get onion rings mix fresh fries, or a soup with your wrap. It's not the best falafel I've ever had, but it was also slightly cheaper than the best. I would recommend coming here for quick bites, the atmosphere isn't ideal if you plan to stay any longer. The falafel was decently crunchy, but there was some kind of mysterious burnt potato in it as well. read more
