Asli Mediterranean Grill is easily one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants in the Denver area. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything we've tried has been excellent, portions are generous, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is also a big part of why we like coming here. It feels warm, clean, modern, and comfortable, and it works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for a nice dinner with family or friends. What I really like about Asli is that it feels authentic and consistent. The grilled meats are full of flavor, the sides are fresh, and everything tastes like it was made with care. Went in thinking, by the name its an authentic Mideastern Eatery, only to find out it's not so, although the place seems clean, The Flafel was over fried in an old oil, Hummus tated came stright out of a can, chunky not smooth, bread microwaved but soft, it was neither flat, like Greek Pita, nore Pocket Pita like everywhere else in Mideast. Their dishes is what I would say is their interpretation of Mediterranian food NOT as authentic as one would expect a Greek, Turkish, Lebanese, Palestinian...etc. Hence why I was somewhat disappointed. read more

We usually get the felafel sandwiches which are quite authentic and good for Denver. I like being able to choose all the ingredients as they assemble it in front of you. And specify how spicy. Having squeeze bottles of amba and tehina for the table is also nice. But I especially appreciate how friendly and helpful the employees are! read more

This place is definitely overhyped. Here is how my takeaway experience today went. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by one of the young men upfront. The restaurant inside was quite clean and well-maintained. I liked the simplicity in the dining interior. This was a nice start. And yet.... The menu - Quite small and limited. The laminated menus were at the register so I glanced at it. As I didn't see much on one side, I flipped it to see if there was anything on the back. There was nothing. I first thought that I would order a few things from the appetizer section but it didn't seem like it would be the most economical way so I turned my attention to the "The Real Deal": entree section. And oh boy, everything is/was so expensive unless you would order as a pita. For instance, the Shawarma Chicken is $21 as a pita, $25 as a baguette and $32 as a plate; the Ribeye Skewers is $34 as a pita, $37 as a baguette and whopping $42 as a plate. What?? Seriously?? After seeing these insanely high prices, I had no choice but to go with one of the cheapest items: Sabich (plate). I had no clue what Sabich was so I asked the young guy what that came with. And he said it's eggplant and eggs. Okay, sounds good I thought. I am a plate person so I went with that and it is/was $26. I'm not trying to be stingy here and yet after tax and tip, the total was $35. This is like ordering a good-portioned plate with some meat in it. At that point, I sure was crossing my fingers for the quality to be excellent or at least good. Sabich wasn't bad. It's a vegetarians plate where well-seasoned carrots, purple cabbage, eggplant and (hard-boiled) eggs (2) were placed in a round container. It came with a deliciously dense pita bread and oh my lord, French fries!! I have seen it where one of the accompaniments in a Middle Eastern or Mediterranean plate were French fries at least a few times in the past and this is a big no no or turn off for me. Why French fries?? Can they not put tabbouleh or hummus or something more closely associated with the very cuisine?? Or am I being picky or snobby here? As soon as I got to my car, I immediately started digging into the food (I had a yoga class to attend so hence the late lunch in my car.) Sabich is/was "okay" at its best. As I have already stated, the pita bread was delicious. Also, the two sauces that came with the dish were quite decent (I especially liked the yellow one) but other than that, this wasn't a dish I could rave about it. And the portion size wasn't that generous either. And I paid $35 for all of this? I feel like I wasted my money on something that was simply and painfully overpriced. Ugh.... I don't think I will return to this establishment. The only reason why I am giving this place a 3-star review is because of the pleasant young man upfront. His warm smile and meaningful "thank you" when he handed me my food were the only memorable things I could think of. read more

This place is absolutely delicious!! My husband and I could not believe how fresh the hummus was and we literally said it was the softest pita bread we ever had! We got the shawarma and the kabobs and both were excellent! Extremely juicy and tender. You can't go wrong with either one. The plates were full of other fixings so that you get a ton of flavors in every bite!! Our server was great he answered all our questions with a smile. This place just opened and there are still some thing that can be improved but I'm ecstatic that there is finally a shawarma in Denver that is a true authentic Israeli shawarma, and it also tastes really good! I found out about Asli because an Israeli friend said that Asli had the best falafel in Denver, hands down, and that says a lot. I definitely agree with her. Asli is authentic and delicious, has great value and good service, and is casual and excellent. They sometimes have events for the community, which is really cool, such as live music, lchaims, etc. It's kosher and serves meat, so you won't find any dairy here. As a vegan/vegetarian, I am more than satisfied with their options. I have been there several times and will certainly be back! read more

Food was nothing special but the price is sure were. I ordered a gyros that came with a small bag of limp cold fries. That was $25 and a drink was extra. The Gyros was not bad, but definitely was not good. Couldn't eat the fries had to throw them out because they were cold and greasy and limp. read more

Came to visit in Denver and wanted a good middle eastern food, we stopped by there today and what a pleasant experience we had . The owner and staff are amazing people with great hospitality and great food. The meat was delicious and done right , the ribeye was such a surprise ( they dry aged it for 14 days in house - taste amazing) , the shawarma was tasty and even there French fries and side dishes were just phenomenal. Received the wrong sandwich - chicken instead of veal. While the did replace it, they just threw away the other, instead of offering it as another customer suggested. Veggies were sparse, even though I asked for extra, and I think they forgot the hot sauce on the remake. I feel like they just got busy and neglected attention to my order, which, for the price, was very disappointing. They no longer offer falafel as a side instead of fries, which I generally don't eat. And my fries were not fresh. This is a niche Kosher restaurant in a niche community. Your choice is a $20 pita or a $30 platter (with very limited sides). There is no option to add hummus to anything. You can only buy the (small) $14 hummus plate. So that's what we did -- got the hummus and added falafel to it. Again, the quality was outstanding, but I wouldn't go back to spend that sort of money on such a small portion size. read more
