Ton of fresh vegetables and herbs. Great cucumber salad for a side. Reasonable prices as well, a large plate was 14.99. The gyros and wraps are 9.99. Fries were crispy and hot too. I have had this as take out for lunch which was amazing. But went to dine in last week, the gentlemen working there are so nice and friendly. I have been going to this place for, no idea how many years honestly but, maybe 10+ years. There appeared to be a couple managerial/owner changes over the years just by observing staff changes. However, as things changed, I noticed there always seemed to be some staff changes that included previous employees. Sometimes they seemed to takeover completely and the product mostly stayed the same. Today was the first time I'd guess there was an obvious complete change in staff, owners, and the food product. There were no recognizable staff working. The tables are arranged differently so you can't walk to the soda machine without putting your rear into those seated next to it. Used to be able to get a lid to your soda, ketchup, napkins, and straws as you got your soda. Now that area next to the machine is gone and I couldn't even find a lid to the soda which was a big problem because it was a to go order. I seemed to rudely stand in the personal space of customers sitting at the table moved, just trying to get my drink and stuff I needed that were not provided in the to-go order. They always wanted you to get your own drink...no problem. As I stood there, another customer was trying to get to where I was, but I was in her way also. This place used to have the best falafel in town. That's no longer true. They are much larger but dry and not super moist and melt in your mouth tasty like they used to be. Beyond the dry falafel, the garlic sauce tastes different and not in a good way. Gyro sandwich also doesn't live up to what I'm used to. Plenty of meat but just not as good somehow. FYI, they put pickles on the sandwich now. Not a bad thing and something that previously cost more but, because it used to be an add on, something to be aware of. Drinks with the combo are now much smaller too. You might not get the drink on a pickup order unless you ask for it. The guy joked that have to ask for it now...even though I paid for it. I paid for an extra taziki and an extra garlic sauce. Either the meal with falafel doesn't come with garlic sauce (like the old place did) or they forgot the 1$ add on garlic sauce. I wish restaurants would keep things the same when changing hands. Or, if you're going to change the food and how everything works, just change the name and website of the place. Then there's no complaints through reasonably expectations. You're a new place...grace. To be fair, if you've never eaten here before, you'll likely think it's fine. It's just that, for many years, this place was really great and I'm sad it's gone...even though the name is still on the sign. I don't expect anyone on the planet is coming here to look for my review of this little tiny place. The only usefulness of this is letting people who have relied upon this place for many years to possibly see what happened in the changes. I wish the new owners great success. I would just say don't piggyback upon the success of a business that has been there for over a decade and then change everything moving forward with the same name. It's not fair to us loyal patrons and it's not fair to what your future vision is for the restaurant. Good luck! This area of Lexington needs quality eats. read more

GYROZ isn't the most attractive place, but the Gyroz is D-lish. Clearly popular, as there was a stream of pickups for lunch. It's huge and stuffed with meat. I selected the lamb shawarma. Needing a lunch special place, I walked in. It's a pretty straightforward place from my perspective: falafel and hummus and fries are my options. The sandwich I ordered had a garlicky flavor, and the freshly fried falafel clashed pleasantly with the cool sauce and fixins. A combo was offered for a fountain drink and a side of reasonably satisfying fries. Palestinian art was hanging on the wall, brightening up what was otherwise a small strip mall joint. I find at many Mediterranean places you get the generic Greek salad and pita- not here. I got the chicken shawarma plate with salad and grape leaves but some other options I had a hard time deciding on was the falafel and hummus. I also got baklava for dessert. It was not terribly busy so there was plenty of seating and the food came out in a timely manner. Seems like the chicken shawarma is the most popular item here as there was nonstop orders coming in for it. The chicken shawarma comes with plenty of meat and is flavorful. I tried the garlic sauce and taziki with it. I really enjoyed the taste of the garlic sauce and how thin it was. The salad and the grape leaves were good. The baklava was skippable. It was very easy to do and fast pick up time so I headed on over and they hadn't started on it until I arrived so I knew it was fresh! The grape leaves were perfect with the dressing they put on them and a good size but I'm still yet to find some as stuffed as I got them at Huntington, WV! I ate them from my trip home home after picking it up because they do not deliver to my area, sad face. My falafel was great and hummus had great flavor! I ordered extra pita for $.50 and had 2 to sop up that extra hummus along with my 4 or 5 falafel. I also got an extra taziki for dipping! I happened to see this place and I'm so glad I tired it! I had a gyro and a chicken roll with baklava to finish it off. SO YUMMY!!!!! These guys make some really great food!
