I have been to Gypsy Treasure several times in the past, but this was my first visit since they have moved to the Grossmont Center location (apparently about five years ago). I came in about 5 days before Halloween, primarily in search of makeup and a crown for my Day of the Dead festival look. When I walked in, the place was pretty hopping. However, I was quickly greeted at the makeup counter and walked through the white face paint options, and given information about some of the various color palettes. After some conversation and deliberation, I chose a white water-based face paint and a couple of color palettes. One was glow-in-the-dark. I then asked about flower crowns, and was surprised to find that they only had one. It was one of those cheesy costume kits that came with skeleton hand gloves and skull earrings, neither of which I wanted. However, the price was pretty inexpensive, so I purchased it just for the crown. I looked around for a hat for my husband's costume, but couldn't find exactly what he wanted, though they had some pretty unique hats. Gypsy Treasure has a large selection of costumes for rent, which appeared to be of much higher quality than the costumes for sale. I saw several cute vintage dresses and hats for women, as well as some pretty elaborate costumes. I did feel that several of the costume items in the front of the store were the same quality you would get from any Halloween store. However, I would definitely return for makeup, or if I had costume needs outside of the Halloween season.

The quality is amazing & prices are cheaper than similar (high quality) festival clothing online. I got a beautiful black lace skirt and beautiful matching top with long arms, and flowers on the black lace. Gorgeous and I can't wait to wear it! The items are one of a kind because they are made on site so you can really show off some beautiful statement, artistic pieces of clothing if you like that kind of thing, which I do! Their jewelry is beautiful... Looks exactly like items I saw on Etsy for five times the price! I can't wait to come here next year while before Coachella so I can get all my outfits here. Our Elsa (Mikayla) checked in the evening before, and from the moment she got to the party she was on. They sang and danced and got their faces/arms painted, took pictures, she even read stories and lead the Happy Birthday song. She kept all of the kids engaged the whole time, it's such a great party because the parents can be safely hands off. Everyone had great things to say to her after the party, the magic my daughter felt through the whole thing was incredible. 10/10 I would do it again in a heartbeat.

There whole set up is nice add your name to the list you get 30 minutes. Up to 8 dresses we of course got more than 8 and needed an additional 30 min. So back on the list we went with our second round. Which was successful and we found the dress. Staff is so friendly and happy to help. Not one bad attitude from anyone.
