I loved my experience at Helicoptere so much that I was really looking forward to cafe Hélico! I didn't realize they had a terrasse on the summer, which was a nice surprise. You order inside at the café and they bring your order to your table. You can take a container of utensils, napkins and a jug of water with you. We ordered the blueberry turnover and blueberry chocolate croissant with coffees to start. Coffee was great and the pastries were excellent. The blueberry turnover was flaky and the croissant had a generous portion of filling! As main dishes we ordered the melon soup, the zucchini salad, the porchetta sandwich, the BLT toast off the lunch menu. The highlight dish for me was the zucchini salad. It was dressed in this aioli type of vinagrette and the dollops of ricotta make the Zucchini so silky and delicious. It was just the perfect dish for lunch on the terrasse un the sun! The porchetta sandwich was my second favorite, it was buttery, herby and the chunks of porchetta were well seasoned. Desserts were awesome! The ice cream sandwich is a must order! The chocolate chiffon cake was very good but it's simple. All the dishes have many layers to them and I thought the chiffon cake would too. Fantastic lunch at cafe Hélico! just like Helicoptère, it is absolutely worth the trip to Hochelega!

Great place for a date brunch! It has everything: sunny terrace, peaceful and bright atmosphere. On the inside, the staff is very nice, fast and the menu is great. The dishes were delicious. Will come back.

The reviews looked great, so we made our way over for some bakes. I assume La Cave gets its name from the fact that you are kinda entering a cave. The bakery is located in a basement surrounded in stone both on the exterior and interior. The bakery isn't large, but it's arranged in a way that foot traffic flows well. They have a good variety of bakes, though we were there relatively late in the day so some had already run out. Despite that, we had several to choose from. We decided to go with the ham and cheese croissant and one of their stuffed croissants. The former was pretty standard - there's wasn't a lot of ham but the flavor was there. The latter was one of those viral circular croissants that have been popular on social media; they had three flavors and I went with the lemon meringue. It was pretty good - it had a good ratio of stuffing to pastry and the lemon curd had a bright flavor. Service as good, the team was eager to help and super efficient. Overall, I had a good experience at La Cave a Manger - there are definitely some good bakes here and I wouldn't hesitate to return to try more of their menu.

The Bakery/tea room is located near the Marché de Maisonneuve in a lively sector, the decor is very cute and if unlike me you're a fan of pink then you'll enjoy it even more. They have a huge variety of pastries, I hesitated a good three minutes as they all looked so delicious, I finally opted for a grapefruit pastry, the texture was so soft and tasty! My kids opted for a cream puff pastry filled with chocolate as well as croissants. The staff was very friendly and even engaged in conversations with my kids (I do have to admit that they're the talkative kind lol). If you're in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve go and have one of their desserts you won't regret it!
