This is one of the worst Auto Repair shops in Montgomery County not only is it small and disorganized plus filthy dirty, also the owner Peter is arrogant pompous asshole that will laugh in your face when he knows your winning the argument. I called this shop on January 2nd of 2023 because I was having transmission problems on my 2018 Alpha Romeo Guilia I already had my car diagnosis in December from the Maserati/ Alpha Romeo dealership in Willow Grove and the service department already told me that I needed a new a replacement transmission. I called around to other to a few other transmission specialists in Montgomery County and H&A Complete Auto Repair told me to bring my car in to take a look at it, so I dropped my car off on Thursday 5th and by Monday Jan 9th I called the shop to pressure the owner to diagnosis my car and he said he will give me a diagnostic by the end of the day and of course yes I needed a transmission. I immediately purchase the transmission that same day and it arrived on the 13th of January by shipment I tried to drop the part off on Saturday, but the auto shop was closed, so I was not able to return back to the shop until Monday morning . Well to wrap this review up I just picked my car up on March 4th the owner Peter went on some sort of vacation or sick leave and did not inform his customer's that he would not be available for over a month he also charged me $3400 for poor fuckin customer service and bitch ass attitude $400 of the charge was for transmission oil he supplied me which I kept asking for two months what do you need from me while my car is sitting here collecting dust. This shop is always getting fined by the county because he allows cars to pile up on his property. My car is not an average foreign vehicle, so trying to find a mechanic to do this work was extremely difficult but a week ago I posted about my car on an app called next-door and a user told me about a shop in Blue Bell that is owned by an Italian owner that worked in Italy on cars for 10 years he was willing to do the work on my car but at this time it was too late. I am just blessed to have my car back and I will never return to this shop of horrors again. read more

Being a full time working mom with two toddlers and a husband, time isn't always the easiest thing to manage! So I decided to take advantage of my furlough and try and fix a few issues my truck has had for quite a while. I googled H&A Auto, which is the closest place to my home and saw that they had a 4.5 rating! I wasn't extremely shocked as the garage has ALWAYS been packed, as I've seen for the last three years. My husband also had a great experience a few years back with a light bulb change. They were honest with him regarding a serious electrical issue he had. So I took a leap of faith and was pleasantly surprised! As commented by so many others, Colleen is the perfect face for the frontline of this business! She is pleasant and patient and kind! And Peter the owner is amazing! Honest, personable and he fixed my major concern and said he'd keep in touch regarding my other issue which couldn't be addressed immediately due to availability of the product, which I can totally understand especially during these crazy times! I'm disappointed in myself for not writing a review earlier. I moved into the area 10 years ago and found Peter when I went searching for a locally owned mechanic. I consistently receive quality service and while there are no frills here the garage is nice and Peter is super friendly. He also only does repairs you need and because he oversees all the repairs you can leave knowing it was done correctly and you won't keep coming back. I'm not a fan of dealership garages because some, not all, don't put the time and care into dealing with your car and sometimes they make sloppy mistakes that cost you money. I haven't met Peter personally, nor have I ever stepped foot into his shop but the level of service and integrity I received over the phone speaks volumes. Hence, minus 1 star for not being physically able to see the shop and work first-hand. I was searching for a VW repair shop to do a pre-sale inspection of a Golf R and needed eyes and hands that I could trust to make an honest assessment. Shopping for a car online has its challenges but I was lucky to find Peter's shop after searching Yelp and Google. Before the car was brought in for inspection, Peter gave me a rundown of what would be inspected, the cost, and how long it would take to do the inspection. What gave me a strong feeling of confidence was not just his knowledge and thoroughness, but Peter's statement that he would be working for me, not the dealership bringing in the car. The cost of the pre-sale inspection was worth the money. An undisclosed accident that was NOT on the Carfax report and unknown to the dealership selling the Golf R was caught during the inspection. Any damage - even though it was repaired - is a red flag in my book. Thanks to Peter I was spared the misery of possibly fixing some costly repairs. read more

I don't understand all of the positive reviews for this place. I had a different experience. Let me explain: I had my windshield replaced a few months back and I needed new windshield stickers; because of PA state law. Easy, right? I tend to be pretty informed and try to keep up with maintenance on my car as well. So, I called the owner, Pete (or Peter, not sure), and explained I needed stickers for my windshield. I thought everything was good, and it went fairly smoothly. He was a genuinely friendly guy and we kept up a nice conversion. That is, until, he charged me $27 to replace two stickers. $27? Here is PA state law regarding replacement stickers (this was at the current time, it might have raised now): "A fee of no more than $2 plus the fee paid to the Department for the certificate may be charged for exchanging the certificate of inspection." $2 for a replacement safety inspection sticker and $3.47 for an emissions sticker. So, at the most, the cost should have been around $6. Of course, if you factor in some fees, it might of been slightly higher. It wasn't, it was $27. Fast forward to how I learned all of this in the first place - I had another windshield replaced. I didn't take it to H&A, because I was in a slightly different area and it was more convenient. I took it to Pep Boys. They charged me $7. In total. With taxes, fees, and the 2 stickers. TL;DR: This shop will up-charge you and make you think that with a smile and friendly gestures, you're getting a deal. And if you're a millennial like me, who they think doesn't know jack about their car, they'll really get ya. The feeling of being taken advantage of is not a great one. I don't know if H&A is no longer at its heyday, or if they've hit a rough patch, but the glowing reviews have glaring inaccuracies. read more

They didn't fix it for free. They took another $400 3. The car broke down within 5 months. They told me that the car useless. I had to sell my car for scrap. CHEATERS. From oil changes and maintenance to engine problems (oy!). I know alot about cars and I keep close tabs on my car fixers, he has never lied and has done what he said he would at a very reasonable price. I've now have had my old 1996 Jeep Cherokee serviced by Peter and his co-workers. They are professional and easy going. I appreciate that they keep the costs of repairs down as I am on a fixed income. My last visit was for the annual inspection and they found a minor problem with the rear brakes that once it was fixed, made a huge difference on the stopping power. The PA inspection & brake repair for about $115.00! I was really worried about the cost but Peter showed me the rusted and broken part and told me that it would be inexpensive. He had already ordered it and it was installed while I waited. This was a huge relief for me and I thank Peter and the staff at H&A for their honesty. I have to tell you, these guys are great! My daughter bought a 2004 Subaru Forester at a local used car lot and we immediately noticed the temp gauge moving into the red and the engine surged in park. We took the back to the dealer and to their credit, they checked it out twice and couldn't find the issue. A second set of eyes at H and A did the trick. They found out the radiator was clogged and the O2 sensor was bad. And get this, H and A called the dealer and the car dealer paid for all the repairs and diagnosis time. DO NOT GO HERE! After being in a car accident the last thing I needed was for someone to BELITTLE me and make excuses. They held onto my car for an entire MONTH and FINALLY when I got it back the check engine light comes on! Not ONCE did anyone call me back, I had to facilitate the conversation, even though they promised me that they would call me "as soon as the part comes in". They made excuses: "Oh you know how it snowed last week. Yea, we don't have the part yet". But RIDDLE ME THIS, I got into an accident when the weather was fine. Shouldn't you have ordered the parts then? Oh right and I am a female so I must not know the difference between a tire and an engine . . . because that is the answer I got on the phone when I told them that (within 20 minutes of driving my car off the lot) my check engine light was on. "Are you sure its an engine? It could be the tire light, is it a tire?" So after bribing it back, he just wiped it off manually without fixing a thing! As I drove away my car stalled instantly. They took it back and held onto it for another week. I have never used Yelp before in my life, but I made the mistake of going to the closest mechanic to me without researching it first (you know, cause I was just in an accident).
