There was one instance where a woman was there who could not pay for all of the work done on her car. She was about $10 short. She was very upset and I was going to offer to pay for it, but when I pulled aside one of the guys, he said not to worry about it and that they were going to take care of it. That act of kindness was amazing. Sure we hate taking our car in for an oil change or inspection and find out there's more work needed, but they mean well and I've never felt they were trying to get me to spend more money. Found that I needed a repair for it to pass but they could not complete the work before my sticker expired (a week later) and their quote was higher than the dealer I took it to who was able to turn it around in 1 day. Asked Pep Boys when I was picking up the car if I brought the car back within 30 days repaired if they would re-inspect for free and they confirmed that most fees would be waived. I assumed I would just pay the sticker fee. I brought it back after repairs were done because of what they told me. They had my car from the night before when I dropped it off and took until 5:50 to get a text that it passed inspection. I called at 6:00 asking what was going on with my car to be told they were closed and I could either hurry up and get there quick or they would leave the key in my unlocked car. I suspect they would have made me wait until the next morning for my car if I hadn't happened to call at the right time. Rushed over, they charged me for the inspection again and told me the person misinformed me of the fees being waived, then arrogantly said that if I'd had the repairs done there they would have waived it. That was the store manager. I had to call corporate for them to provide a "one time courtesy" of the inspection fee. I will not be returning.

The woman I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and pulled a few tire options for me at different price points. I ended up needing 3 tires since my opposite tire was old anyway and I had another tire with a nail in it! I was happy they were willing to do 3 instead of 4 tires, since #4 was only a few months old. I appreciated they didn't try to force me into a 4th tire just to make a sale. The location is good for waiting there because you can walk to a few places while you wait (Primos, Marshalls, etc.). My wait wasn't super short, but I was really just happy they were able to squeeze me in without anything scheduled in advance on the Sunday of a holiday weekend.

We took in a vehicle for an estimate on some repairs based on a failed inspection elsewhere and they extorted a fee for an inspection, that they did not perform, refusing to return the title ; which they didn't need in the first place as they weren't asked to do an inspection. (They took advantage of someone who wasn't aware) They have a number of large dogs unleashed that jump up on the cars and, based on the interior condition of the car when picked up, were allowed to go into the vehicles. The police were called when they refused to relinquish the title. Terrible customer service, dilapidated facility, should have never left the car upon seeing this. Very unprofessional.
