If I could give this driving school negative stars I would. I paid almost 500 dollars for my wife to learn how to drive here and pass a road test. They teach you to drive but not pass the road test. On the day of the test I paid 150 dollars so my wife could take the test and they refused to go over some of the material at least once. Stating they don't offer that service on the day of the test. 150 dollars for 10 minutes ! The least you could do take 20 minutes and make sure she'll pass ! Don't waste your money here. read more

This driving school screwed me up on the day of my road test. I scheduled an hour lesson with the car rental two weeks before my road test. I called and confirmed with the school again the day before as well. But on the day of my road test, nobody called or showed up after passing my pick up time. I called the school and I was told they had a crashed and they didn't know when they would showed up. 20 minutes passed my appointment, I was sent a student driver who apparently was having her lesson to pick me up and drove me to Leonia high school. I was in a tight time schedule and she was driving 15 miles/hr. At the end, from one hour lesson to a ten minutes lesson before I went on my road test. I was so frustrated with the school and complaint to the owner but he didn't care or apologized. Go to somewhere else realizable if you want to learn driving!!! read more

I had Mirza Rodrigues as my driving instructor for only 3, 2 hour lessons and by the second lesson I was already feeling extremely confident for my road test. Due to her excellent teaching tactics I passed the road test with flying colors and I am so glad I was lucky enough to have her. I can't say for the other instructors; however, Mirza alone makes H & H a 5 star establishment and I genuinely believe any one can pass if they have her as their instructor. read more

Mubashra is amazing!!! I did not practice at all and went to the driving test just because I was unable to reschedule it online and my permit was expiring. I took just one hour class with her before my test and I passed in my first try!!!! Her parallel parking tricks were perfect and I can't thank her enough. I decided I wanted more independence so I went for drivers permit in early March (before pandemic) and got in touch with H&H for driving classes once we entered Phase 3. This was my second time using H&H Driving School. The first time back in 2015 was uneventful and I had nothing but positive things to say about them. My second time in February/March 2020 was not as successful. During the first two-hour session, the female instructor took my daughter to the DMV for a vision test. My daughter wears glasses for reading and close work only. The instructor was informed of this but said she must take the vision test with her glasses on. My daughter now had a vision restriction on her permit for no reason. The day of her road test, the tester informed us that in order to remove this restriction, she would need to take a new vision test and we would have to cancel/reschedule the road test. Or she would need to wear the reading glasses unnecessarily while driving. On the last day of her 6 hours, the instructor told my daughter to drive on 287. She was talking on the cell phone the entire time. My daughter felt uncomfortable going on a busy highway during Friday evening rush hour traffic while her instructor was busy talking on her phone. As part of my driving package, I prepaid the school $14.00 for them to purchase the two red decals for the license plates. However, in early March 2020, right before everything shut down, I spoke to someone I believe was the owner who informed me he was unable to get them and I was told that I could go to the DMV myself. Once her 6 hours of instruction were completed, they issued her permit, but I did not receive my decals. My daughter's road test was scheduled for January 4, 2021. I called H&H several times inquiring about the decals and was first told they needed to contact the instructor and would get back to me. After several days of not getting a return phone call, I called again and left a message. Again, after a day or two of them ignoring my requests, I called and actually got the same person I originally spoke to on the phone. I asked him about the decals and he said to me "I don't know what to tell you" and left it at that. I was completely flabbergasted by his reaction or lack thereof. If they offer this as a service they should accommodate; but they already had my money so I guess it wasn't their problem any more. Needless to say, my sister took the decals off of her plates (which her driving school gave her for free) so we would have them for the road test. I would not recommend this school to anyone and if I could give zero stars I would. read more

Stay away. I witnesses one of these cars driving very slowly on a busy street in a 35mph zone. Obviously it was a non-confident driver. We were patient but a line of cars accumulated. The instructor should have used secondary roads or at least had the student pull over. But he didn't. At a traffic light, the driver did not move once it turned green. Cars naturally started beeping. When the student finally turned onto 9W, the instructor actually opened the window, started waving his fist while cursing and actually threw a bottle at one of the passing cars. I couldn't believe it. What a message to send to a student driver. Nothing like teaching road rage to teenagers. read more

Their drivers are completely unqualified, they never get their appointments right. We were told my son would get 3 2 hour lessons. He had 1 1/2 lessons and now they tell us he finished his lessons although he is nowhere ready. He was nervous the first lesson and the instructor was not able to make him relaxed so he only managed to drive 1/2 a lesson or less. Then they kept scheduling him and forgetting he was due a lesson so no instructor showed up two times. Somehow there is a serious lack of communication between the schedulers and the instructors. His next lesson was another mix up as we were told the lesson was at noon when the instructor thought it was at 12:30 pm. We had to keep calling. This instructor, Amare, was calmer so my son did better driving. James Lee from the school is very abrupt and rude when parents call the office and the calls are routed to him. He is always anxious and impolite. I think they should give my child a make up lesson for the first time since he did not learn much that time. I am sure he will need more lessons before he can do the road test. If a miracle happens and they finally provide better service and can teach my son so he can pass the test, we will see. read more

It was my second time using this service. The first time a few years ago I had a female instructor and it was a nice experience. But on the day of a road test a male instractor came unexpectedly. I think he was an owner of the company. He was rude and not patient. It was a nightmare, but I had to pass the test, so I handled this situation. Recently, I wanted to renew my knowledge of driving and I started to look for a driving school. All schools around my area were booked up, so I decided to try H&H driving school again. Thank God, I paid only for 2 hours. The driver James was fully focused on his phone and just sometimes paid attention on me. Instead of explaing the rules patiently before driving, he did it while I was driving and it was told to me in a very stressful manner. He actually laid a fear of driving in me by screaming some phrases like "You gonna be in a big trouble..". Plus, sometimes I hardly could understand, what he was saying, because he has a strong accent. Besides that, he was visiting his office during my paid lesson. It's like a joke to me. Customer is not first for sure! He also, thought me a wrong way of holding a steering wheel. Instead of 9/3 position, he asked me to hold the top of the steering wheel with my two hands, which is wierd. Luckily, I found a different driving school and now I can compare these two companies. The H&H driving school uses very old cars, while charging a lot of money $118 for two hours. You can find a much better deal. In the end, I want to say that I wrote this review to give this company a chance to improve and I hope that after they will make some changes people will have a pleasant experience with them. read more

This is the first driving school I ever had an experience with. First I have to say James the instructor is very pleasant and makes you feel comfortable when driving. Although the office isn't the best with getting appoints right. They kept calling and asking to change the times and then never twice never showed up and blamed it on someone new in the office. My son did complete his 6 hrs to receive his permit. Not a totally bad experience but would use them again if I had to. read more

I'm not sure if this school has two instructors named James but these glowing reviews are the complete opposite of my experience last week for my first lesson. First, I specifically told him that I had never driven before. He questioned how that was possible, how I got to work, why my husband didn't teach me. That should have been the first red flag. Why am I going to lie? I'm taking a class to learn something because I don't know how to do it. That's what classes are for. But, I hate confrontation, so I stayed quiet and white knuckled through the next two two hours of torture. He put me behind the wheel and just told me to go. Did not show me what to do. I told him I don't know what to press to go and he, annoyed, pulled out his phone flashlight, complained he couldn't see to show me the break and gas. Then the lessons started and he was either dead silent on his phone, or randomly yelling "Don't hit the curb! Flat tire!, do you understand?". He took calls during the lesson. He put me in a four way intersection on my first day ever behind the wheel. He kept asking if I was nervous, and I kept saying yes! He didn't seem to know how to calmly explain what I needed to do. Apart from telling me we would be doing figure 8's and if I understood, everything else was a yelled command. As for feedback, sometime hitting the gas was "that's ok", other times is was "SLOW DOWN!" No rhyme or reason. I left soaking wet from nervously sweating the entire time. I contemplated just cancelling the whole thing several times. It took me two days to get the courage to call and ask for another teacher. I just can't wrap my head around how this teacher has 5 start reviews. Also, he didn't wear his mark properly and had his nose sticking out. We're a year into this pandemic. Proper mask wearing isn't that difficult. I changed teachers for my next lesson since I already paid for a 6 hour package. We'll see how this next class goes. read more

Texted me the NIGHT BEFORE that they want me to sign up for a different plan ($150 more expensive than what I signed up for) because that would help me more. I trusted that would be my best interest but on the day of the road test the lady instructor was rude, unhelpful, and in general awful. She kept yelling at me and making rude comments like WTF I'm here to learn of course I'm gonna make mistakes! Her pointers were not helpful and she just kept yelling to the point that I thought I was gonna cry. I took so many lessons before and I wasn't as confident before but when I took it today, I felt 100% confident and I passed. I had my driving test today and I practiced with James for literally an hour and a half yesterday. In that one hour and a half, I learned everything I needed (Parallel parking, 3point turn, etc). The examination was a breeze for me today and I'm now licensed. I really recommend James cause he's straight to the point and makes complicated explanations simple. I haven't driven in 2 years, and my road test was coming up in just a week. I signed up for the 6 hour driving practice course, which spreads out into 3 day lessons. I had my last lesson on the day of the road test without any parallel parking experience. Immediately after the lesson, I found parallel parking easy because my instructor, Steve, gave me the best method. I passed the road test with a breeze. H&H is not a professional company. They made my first driving school experience a nightmare!!! When I first called them for information they mentioned a 6 hour package deal that would be very affordable and helpful and I trusted them. I should have never got that package. There first mess up started from day one when a male driver showed up in shorts and flip flops when I specifically asked for a female instructor. I should have never accepted that driver from day one. The guy had no clue about what he should teach me instead he took me to a parking lot and went to get a sandwich so he can eat! I called John the owner of the company and asked for another instructor and appointment he told me that next available date is 15 days later! I was in shock i asked him to refund me the payment that I made for 6 hours because I wanted to find another school. They did not refund my money back instead they rescheduled me for another day at 8am then he showed up at 8.30. At the third lesson they changed tbe instructor and she didnt knew it was my last class bcz nobody told from the company told her ,so i ended up without learning the parallel parking. I called the company and i complained about their service they promised me another lesson with 20$ off and he canceled on me as other people have mentioned. I cannot believe how this business have this many positive reviews with the way they do business. It was such a waste of time and money. My advice is find another professional school or take 1 class at a time and never buy the package because they will make you wait weeks to reschedule. read more

Had a horrible experience here. They changed my hours without even asking me. I had scheduled for 2:00 lessons, but come to find it's been changed to 5:00 PM. Had planned to do 2 hours lessons for 3 days (the 6 hour package) but had one instructor do only one hour for one day, another day for the instructor to be 30 minutes late only to call me to tell me he had to cancel. I also got the one hour lesson before my actual road test, but as the minutes ticked by I was getting more nervous as the instructor was not coming. I called the business but kept getting a voicemail. I finally called the boss/manager through his personal phone number and he told me I had cancelled, and then I told him I did no such thing and then he rudely told me he was busy as he was driving and then hung up on me. Angrily, I kept calling back only to keep receiving his voicemail. He finally called me back saying this turned out to be a positive thing as he thought I was going to fail anyways. He didn't even allow me to defend myself because everytime I tried to speak he said, "Hold on I am speaking." In frustrated and angry tears, I hung up on him. Overall, place seems disorganized and very rude. I DO NOT recommend going here. read more

I registered for driving school under the idea that in doing so I would improve my skills behind the wheel and relieve myself of the stress and fear associated with beginning drivers. However, H&H Driving did not deliver the experience I was hoping for. If anything I think H&H Driving only made me less confident in my driving abilities. If you decide to register for this program do yourself a favor and stay away from the instructor James at all costs, because, at least for me, James is not a great driving teacher. For starters James has a very short temper. When James is being nice, he is nice, but when he gets frustrated, be prepared for the verbal onslaught that is about to come. I understand that it is the teachers job to correct the student, but I feel that there also needs to be an understanding on the instructor's part that as a student you are going to make small mistakes every now and then. However, James has little to no patience. The slightest errors set off James, and it only seemed to worsen my driving as I became much more worried of screwing up. Sometimes you don't even have to mess up to anger James. Sometimes, just asking questions can set him off. For example, one time I was approaching an uncontrolled intersection, and, wanting to make sure I didn't mess up to avoid being yelled at, I asked him "I have the right of way, right?". James became furious with me, telling me that that if I don't follow directions I'm going to be in a lot of trouble. The worst memory I have of James' impatience is the time we tried Parallel Parking. Now, I have always heard that it's normal for people to have difficulty with this part of the exam, but the wayJames reacted made me feel as though I was the most incompetent driver on the planet. On my first attempt I made the mistake of being a couple inches off and James completely lost it with me. As we made more and more attempts James became more and more infuriated. As the lesson progressed I started caring less and less about getting my license and more about just getting out of the car. Now, some may argue that James acts this way because he cares for his students, and wants them to perform well during the exam. However, I find that idea hard to believe considering how often James is more concerned with whats going on his phone than his students' driving. Yes, you read that right, James has the tendency to pull out his phone during lessons. This wouldn't be a huge problem if it was just a quick text he sent, or a short conversation here and there, but that is not the case most of the time. James is often on his phone doing God knows what during the lessons, which I found to be pretty worrying given that I am trying to learn how to maneuver a vehicle. When James isn't yelling at me or someone on the phone he is teaching, and whether that's good or bad depends on your ability to understand James. I don't doubt that James knows the rules of the road, but what I do know is that there is a huge communication issue in play. He often gives mixed signals and can be very confusing at times. I was able to decipher what he was trying to get me to do sometimes, but at other times I couldn't comprehend his commands, and that sometimes resulted in me getting yelled at. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but I registered for his program in hopes of improving my driving skills. While behind the wheel, I should spend more time worrying about whether I'm driving correctly, and less time trying to understand what my instructor is saying. My motivation should be my desire to attain my license, not fear of my driving teacher completely losing it over the smallest mishaps. I'm not going to pretend like I'm the perfect driver, because I'm not, but unnecessarily high levels of frustration alongside incomprehensible teaching are not going to do anything to get me closer to my license. read more
