As a 16-year-old high schooler, I am 1 of several siblings who have gone through the 6-hour…read moreprogram provided by Shift Above 2. The training was more knowledgeable than I anticipated. I initially felt anxious, but my instructor Mike presented the material in a way that it was more comfortable and engaging that the time flew by. The training was structured to address when I had some anxiety. I learned strategies to recognize my anxiety kicking in and prevent it from interfering with necessary maneuvers. This was genuinely helpful, preparing me significantly better than I anticipated. Highly recommend it.

To start, Mike was excellent as an instructor, and was able to provide additional training and…read moreanother voice in terms of instruction--which can prove quite helpful. On this basis, I would give a 5 star review. But, the contact/communication has been very bad. Emails flow through someone named "Jessie" who is quite slow to respond, sets short arbitrary deadlines, and since Mike unexpectedly cancelled a lesson on Dec 16, has not responded to numerous emails, a phone message, and even an question that I posted here two days ago about anyone having any recent contact with Shiftabove2. We offered to reschedule or take a refund and have not heard anything back in a month. This side, I would rate a 1 star. Again, Mike was excellent and if they would straighten out the communication issue it would be 5 star rating.

I would not recommend Compas driving school to anyone. we…read morepaid for the 8 hour training as well as the pre-driving test refresher and use of their car for the test, thinking we covered all the bases for a smooth experience. The owner showed up 20 minutes late for the refresher and as we arrived at mvc at the time they scheduled for us, we found our 17 year old daughter alone crying . The owner had left her there after advising her that his office scheduled her 2 hours late and she could not take the test. Did not wait to explain his error to us, and was incredibly condescending and argumentative on the phone. He lied and said he was "just an instructor" and could not give us the same refresher on the rescheduled date, only to later yell about being the owner and saying it was "not going to happen". I can see why they insist on a check or other non contestable form of payment, because I was blamed for not checking the time on the permit when it was his office that scheduled all of our times as they were paid well to do. This "professional" school turned our child's big day into a stressful nightmare. She was able to take the test the following day, causing me to take another day off, and fortunately did pass, coming home to lie in bed and de stress after this unnecessary experience. what a shame, please do yourself a favor and pick any other place to make your student's experience a good one.

I wasn't a big fan of "cramming" the practice lessons but in hindsight it really helped with getting a feel and comfortable behind the wheel. Compas' fleet of cars are all brand new so it was a lot of fun to drive. Passed my road test on the first time!

They said "yes" but intentionally omitted that they are NOT CODA-accredited (and haven't been for 5 years). We were led to believe I'd be a CDA upon graduation. Instead, I found out mid-program that I have to work 3,200 hours first--a possible 2-year delay (unless you're doctor feels you're really talented and signs off early)that was never mentioned upfront. The school suggests working during the program to get those hours, but as a day student, most employers won't hire you due to the schedule. It's an impossible cycle. When I reached out for help, the Dean simply piggybacked off my conversation with the head of the department instead of offering a real solution, and the President has yet to respond at all. They try to sweep it under the rug by claiming New Jersey employers "only care about Radiology licenses," which ignores my long-term career growth. Beyond the accreditation, the education is suffering: * Overcrowded Classes: Classes are being merged, leaving teachers overwhelmed. * Lack of Hands-on Training: Labs are rushed and rare. You're expected to learn something once and then not touch it again until your internship. It's all lectures and quizzes. * The "Referral" Insult: They have the audacity to ask for referrals in exchange for two slices of pizza every few weeks while ignoring serious grievances from students paying full tuition. For the price they charge, Fortis needs to do much better. Do your research and ask for specific accreditation names before signing anything here. After the President commented on my review, I reached out as of yet I still have not received a phone call.
