This Ollie's has a reasonable selection of books, and I noticed some books here that I hadn't seen at the other Ollie's. All the prices are a great value. My only gripe is that one of the books that I wanted was on a super high shelf, and it wasn't clear how I was supposed to get it, so I had to be creative with how I retrieved the book. I browsed the other aisles but didn't see anything in particular. I was mainly looking for books and excess tea; neither Ollie's had much of a tea selection. The employee that rang us up was nice and friendly, and there was basically no wait, although it might have been because they were closing soon. I definitely think a good value can be had here as long as you're not looking for anything super specific. I enjoy going to Ollie's for puzzle books and coloring books, of which there are many.

While it's mostly general merchandise they sell, one can also find a pretty decent variety of cleaning supplies, personal care products, clothing, bedding, toys, pet needs and even non-perishable foods! Plenty of bagged and boxed candy too. The store seems a good bit cleaner than the Odd Lots that once occupied this space. It's also better organized and has (somewhat) friendlier employees, albeit not all of 'em seem on board with that. Anyway, it dampens the "holiday spirit" of the store. Lots of holiday and seasonal goods for sale too. They got nothing on Robert's Christmas Wonderland on Gulf to Bay, but one of THOSE is probably one too many except in small doses. Meanwhile, Christmas music was playing in the store. Between every one or two songs was another Ollie's ad. Each one of 'em ends with the same phrase as though barked by a group of military recruits... "Ollies: good stuff CHEAP!!" That pretty well sums it up: hook, line and sinker. I'm sure if you looked hard enough you can find THEM too. I myself won't be doing so, but my dear Queen Bee loves the place. To me, it beats the be-jiggers outta Dollar Parlor, Greenback General or Goodwill. That doesn't really say very much, but then again: enough to expect from a discounter for the Scratch & Dent Special Brigade.

The top where the wire comes out of the base was very wobbly and the shade could not sit square because the harp was on the wobbly bit. So, I looked online and it looked like I'd be able to fix it with parts from Home Depot or even Amazon. Maybe $15 or so. So I explained and asked if they take a little less for the lamp since I'd have to fix it for it to be usable. The woman on the desk called someone else. They went into the window and had a discussion. Came out, still no decision, had to make a call. Five minutes later the answer was "NO, if it's in the window we won't discount". Meanwhile, I was looking around as I waited. There was a single small martini glass priced at $6.50. It was a good quality glass but I've never seen a thrift store martini glass ( I collect them) priced so high unless it was etched crystal like Waterford. On the same table was an interesting looking vase from Germany with chips along the rim. $29! Idk. There was a polyester sleeveless top for $12 that couldn't have been more than $15 brand new. They must have someone who looks up stuff on EBay and other sites to see what people are asking for things in perfect condition or something. But, thrift stores run on donations. This one is way over priced. The staff are not friendly. The only I'd say has improved is the quality of the furniture. I really wanted to be able to upgrade my previous review because I don't like to give a bad review without checking back , but this place is just about the worst thrift store in the area. I was in the store the other day for the first time with my 4 year old. While shopping, I or my son…read moremisplaced my cell phone. When I realized I didn't have it, I retraced my steps with no luck. The awesome lady at the front, Kathy, offered to help. She flagged down the manager, Conrad who went above and beyond to help me. While a ran out to my truck to make sure I hadn't left it there, he went around the entire store with his personal cell phone calling me trying to help me find it, which he did! He even came outside to flag me down as he saw I was visibly upset. Both Kathy and Conrad could not have been kinder or more helpful. The store was organize, clean, and well kept. Its always nice to shop in a store like that. But when you have employees like Kathy and Conrad, it takes it to the next level. I will most definitely be back to this specific store with friends! I am so grateful to him.
