I was left feeling H & M after my previous trip to this store (Hurt & Miserable), (just kidding), but this made it better. This is definitely a sexy underwear store, by any stretch of the imagination. They have some good female clothing items as well, and in general we really like it. If I had to complain about something (which I don't like to do honestly) then it would be that the store is too expensive, especially considering that it has a great opportunity to be a cheaper version of VS, since it's not quite as sexy and elaborate and infamous. Having said all of that, it is a good store, and it's wonderful for people watching and seems pretty high-end compared to most of these stores that I have been in, so I appreciate that. read more

Typical two level h&m store. I just don't have the patience to wait for things to get delivered from SHEIN or Temu so H&M fits the bill when you want quick fashion. It's not as cheap as getting it from the apps but if you look at the sales racks you can find some items in the single digits - can't beat that with this crazy inflation. There's a cashier both up and downstairs but the upstairs one is almost never open so you'll have to wait in a long line downstairs since it takes everyone time to open the H&M app and look for coupons and promos. There aren't too many affordable shops in the domain so if your looking for value this and Zara are your best bets. read more

What a great place for back to school shopping for my boys! Prices are cheap and right now spend over $60 and get 20% off entire purchase. Yeah you have to dig a bit... it isn't well kept up. Yeah you might have to hunt down a cashier. However you just can't beat the prices! My boys grow out of stuff so fast it pays to find style that is inexpensive and that is H&M! 6 pairs of jeans, and 9 shirts only $150 today! You can't beat that with a stick!! This H&M has got to be the smallest one I've ever been to.... There's such a small selection of clothes, don't even bother coming here if you are a size ten or higher. There's a mens and kids section that take up all of the second floor which might explain the severe lack of women's clothing. Not worth a drive here if it's the main store you are seeking. I was trying to return a canvas bag I had ordered online. I didn't realize that the bag was considered part of their home goods and this location is unable to return those types of items. That's ok, I get it. The cashier then told me that the Lakeline H&M had a home goods section and I could return the bag there. Great! I drove all the way to the Lakeline location only to find out that's not true. They do not have home goods and I could not return the bag there either. What a complete waste of time and gas money! This is a fantastic store for basic items that are super on trend. Not only are the clothes affordable, but they're definitely not lacking in style! Perfect for any age.. business clothes, casual clothes, super trendy? They have that too! They also make really nice and affordable costume jewelry. Its not too pricey and u can always catch a sale! I have bought formal dresses for like $7 and great blouses and tops as low as $3. They even allow u to turn in old clothes and get 15%off of your next entire purchase! Don't forget to signup for offers ! Though the sizing is always off that makes me crazy and puts a limitation on ordering online. It is sometimes really hard to find some good things given the fact that the stores is most of the times unorganized. Super long queues for trials and definitely I do not understand WHY don't they turn on all the check out counters when the lines are big. It has happened couple of times that after waiting for a while in the queue which doesn't seem to move.. just left the things and walked out ! When I looked at the review of this store, I was shock that it was low and I can understand why now. Waited in long line with only 1 cashier open. I wanted to return my shoes and the manager had to be called. She took her time walking while the line was long. The managers always do that. So the manager said these shoes looked worn and I cannot get a refund. I bought the shoes 1 day ago. I never worn it out. I worn it for max 5 minutes just to see if it matches my pants. But I didn't like it so I wanted to return it. When I bought the shoe, it looked already worn. I only bought the shoe because I needed something cheap for work. And the manager told me I can't get a refund. Does anyone even buy men H&M shoes that looks like a rip off of Balenciaga? I don't think so. Also THE MOST IMPORTANT PART ABOUT THIS STORE. The return policy for clothing is decent. I always return stuff to this H&M without a receipt. I always get credit or money back. I returned my jeans I bought 4 years ago and they still accepted it. I returned a shirt I wore many times from 2 months ago. And lots more. They accept clothing that has been worn. That means when they resell the returned items, it is not in good condition. Another person had the same experience with a item with bad condition. Some items in this store are not in good condition because of the return policy. This has got to be the worst H&M ever. I bought a sweater for $20, it had a small hole on the top left sleeve that I didn't notice until I put it on. So the following week I went to go return it with receipt and everything. The gay blonde manager or whatever had some serious complex towards girls returning things or something, because as reasonable as my case was, I didn't get a refund because I told him I wore it when I found the hole. While the North Austin location may be hoity-toity, the affordable price point that experienced H&M shoppers would expect has not been sacrificed for the sake of the address in the same shopping mall as stores like Tiffany and Louis Vuitton. Having been on the Fader magazine distribution list for years as part of my SXSW hookup to fun free parties and music showcases, I was thrilled to get the invitation to attend their preview party for the eve of the official H&M grand opening on November 17th, 2012. Previous shopping trips at H&M in Germany, New York, and Las Vegas gave me high expectations about the quality of the merchandise, and the bargain hunter in me just could not be more excited. Not only did I get to shop early while enjoying sponsored cocktails and food, I got an extra 25% off my already low purchase prices (even the sale items)! So what did I find? How about great holiday/date-night dresses priced from $10-$100, with most around $25. Sparkly tops and lacey skirts around $10-15 each. Designs and cuts flattering to all body types. Accessories from $4-$20. Beautiful coats and jackets for less than $100. Lots of tailored office-appropriate looks. Great seasonal kids' clothing, including full snow suits (parka and ski bibs) for about $50 - that's better than Wal-Mart's online price-point, and with much more adorable designs to choose from. Pro tip 2: If the lines are long downstairs, go upstairs to the children's or men's areas for faster fitting room access and checkout. Paying less for trendy pieces is always great, but H&M also has an upscale designer area (2nd floor in the Austin store) where you can find exclusive higher end pieces still at much less than you'd pay for something similar at department stores. H&M is a place where you can get some cheap basic clothing items. It's the less trendy, more adult version of Forever 21. They also have a larger selection of clothing for men and children. The clothing quality reflects the prices but it's made well enough. If you want to buy some colorful prints or seasonal items that you probably won't wear again next year, this is a great place to get those things. HOWEVER, if you are going to shop here be prepared for some seriously screwed up sizing. I usually wear a size 4 pant so I picked up a pair in that size and immediately knew there was no way in HELL that size was going to fit me. They were so small that I thought I was in the children's section. I shop in a variety of stores in person and online and those pants would have been a size 0 or maybe 00 anywhere else. I ended up fitting between an 8 and a 10 and the sizes only go up to 12...so I don't think the pants here will fit anyone who normally wears any size larger than a 6. The weird thing is they also carry clothing that comes sized XS, S, M, L and in any of those pieces I was wearing a small as I normally do everywhere else! Very confusing. read more

Let me ask... so and so, is this the largest size we have?." says the sales person when my 165 lb body asks for a size 14. So, I get several things from this experience. One, obviously I must seem enormously out of place in stick figure land and secondly, H&M doesn't want "largest" customers in the store- they should safely be kept out of sight by shopping online only. It becomes even more apparent that they don't care if I feel good about myself as I walk in the door and like a fat cow as I walk out the door as the word "largest" echoes through my mind. I did find the jeans that flatter me, but not without a blow to my being. Online shopping is a joke for full figured women. It only increases the sense of shaming. Skinny ladies don't need to try things on- everything fits because it's all designed for them. Why in God's name, should I be forced to go online to look at thin people and guess a size, pay my money, anticipate arrival, and then still be disappointed in the fit? H&M Domain. keeping it classy. So, this just happened. At the H&M in the Domain, my son tripped and fell flat on his face. on to the beautiful stained concrete floor. Blood everywhere. Crying child. Busted and bleeding lip. Frazzled staff found us some paper towels and looked for the manager ( who they reported was missing in action) to give us access to the closest bathrooms. After ten minutes of waiting, manager Greg shows up and tells us that there are public bathrooms across the street. To go use them and because of safety reasons, we cannot use the store bathroom. By the way, my child is still bleeding. We are outraged and my wife throws the cup of water on the floor. Manager is now insulted, demands we leave the store. So, bleeding child needing first aid. We start walking out and he shadows us to make sure we leave. My wife in act of civil disobedience announces to the store what thr manager has done. Manager calls the police on us. Or tells us he has called the police. Last words to us, as we walk out the store, "You are embarassing yourself." Who is the real embarassment here? At no point did he ask if the child was ok, or offer to help. Cold. You can tell his staff is afraid of him. Prior to the accident, we had a basket full of clothes and a happy child. We would have bought the clothes, had we been able to attend to him at the store. Now we will never shop at H&M. Shop here at the H&M but know that the manager Greg despises crying, bleeding children. read more

Went there today at 11:45. 1st time. Nice store. But...LONG line with one cashier, who looked miserable. Finally...someone else opened a register. She looked miserable too. Both cashiers said, "next"!? Felt like I was at the Post Office. One guy ignored the line and stood behind the one person being assisted from the late arriving cashier...instead of getting in the long line. Cashiers were not paying any attention...heads down. So someone in line had to speak up...caused a situation. Easily avoided if the cashiers lifted their heads...and actually cared about their jobs. My cashier had zero personality. Wow, all I can say is this place was still crowded even a day after the grand opening on 11/17. The store has women's clothing on the first floor with men's clothes on the second. It would be nice if they had more open space (like in Chicago/New York) so it wouldn't be hard to get from one place of the store to another, but this probably will be less of a problem after the "newness" of H&M's first Austin store wears out. There is nothing too special that makes it stand out from the other H&M stores. The prices are reasonable for the quality (e.g. 75 dollars including tax for a men's blazer, 10-20 dollars for shirts, 30-100 dollars for pants, etc.) so don't expect anything too upscale. read more

I'm a middle child. I promise that has something to do with this review. So I'm 11 years old, and my 13 year old sister gets to go on a class trip to New York City. Do I get to go when my 7th grade class gets to go? NO. So she goes off to New York, and I'm in KERRVILLE, Texas, which is as exciting as it sounds. She gets to buy knockoff designer clothes, shop at the biggest Forever21 ever, and above all, she gets to go to El Dorado...H&M. At 11 years old, I knew H&M was important, because that's where all the pretty clothes in magazines came from. She comes home with the coolest, most beautiful vintage shirts and dresses. Does she share? No. Life goes on, and as I get older, it becomes more frustrating because I finally had money to go shopping, but H&M was only located in major cities, and you couldn't even browse an online store, let alone purchase anything from one. I just figured it wasn't meant to be. In 2011, I take a trip to Chicago and the very first place I went shopping - H&M. It was great. I found pieces that are still my favorite to this day. Upon checking out, the girl checked my ID, saw that I was from Texas, and said they were opening a store in Austin "in a few months." I was stoked because it meant I could finally have easy access to my forever admired store. In case anyone didn't know, H&M did NOT open in a couple of months. It didn't open until right before 2013. I finally make my way over to the Domain, excited only for H&M. I get there, and....blah. The work clothes were equivalent to that of New York and Company. The party dresses were on par with Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters clothing. Basic clothing items reminded me of Agaci or Melrose or something really cheap and ghetto. I LOVE cheap, I don't love terrible quality. I did find a lacy shirt I can match with a pencil skirt for work, but could also be dressed up to go out. I did find a cheap day dress I can wear in the summer, but none of this felt like... like I had made an amazing, find of a lifetime purchase on a piece of clothing. My friends have gone, and despite having the ability to find great clothes anywhere, only purchased tights, stockings, and a basic skirt. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 is because despite being entirely UNDERWHELMED, they had great costume jewelry. I bought a whole bunch of fake pearl earrings and big, statement necklaces. I WANTED to love this H&M. I really did. I'm going to DC and NYC next week (FINALLY, take THAT, older sister), and I'm hoping that this trip to H&M was an isolated Austin incident, and not a lessening of quality in H&M overall. OH, and guess what... my little sister is spoiled as hell and dresses better than I could ever afford to. That's why my being a middle child is pertinent to this. read more

H&M has finally made its debut in the music capitol! All of the reviews cover the great reasons why everyone loves this cool trendy affordable store. What has not been mentioned is the return policy. The customer has 30 days from the day of purchase to return any items for a full cash/ credit card refund. The date is printed nicely on the receipt with the return date in case you forget. After the 30 day date has been exceeded then you will be given store credit. Something to keep in mind in case you needed the money returned to your bank account. The customer service is very friendly as the store is highly populated with energetic 20 something year olds. Also, H&M always has a temporarily featured designer like other department stores to attract fashionistas. The designers rotate so if you see something you like just buy it and return it later before 30 days after you've had time to think about it. So from basic clothing to fun fashion trends, H&M is sure to meet your needs and your wallet's limits. read more

When you have a kick-ass dress on hold for your daughter, it's the only one like it in the entire store but it's on a mannequin, so they take down your info. They call you a week later to confirm you still want the dress but they tell you it's still on the mannequin and someone will call you once it's finally switched out. You call the following week only to be told it was taken off the day before and apparently sold. WTH? Thanks. Two weeks of my life I'll never get back. read more

Can't really be compared to other H&Ms in other cities... it's crowded b/c it's so popular. Not friendly for moms with kids. Expect to wait in line to try anything on. They also run out of sizes. But despite all this, their clothes still fit well once you know your size & they fit the hubby too. Just glad we have one in this city....hoping they'll open up another. H&M has delish clothes for a fair price. Not cheap, but their sales RULE. Like, the front of the store is pretty much reserved for $5, $10, $15, $20 sale items. How awesome is that? They have a really good selection of sizes. I'm a bit of a fatty and end up in either a 12, 14 or Large (the latter two are largest they carry) and I've been able to find my size in everything I fancied. The line to the dressing room, more often than not, is ridonc. I've waited for the better part of 20 minutes. NOW, I will admit I went into the fitting room with like 13 garments and probably contributed to the line times, but... yeah. It just seems odd to have such a substantial line for the fitting room. The employees in the fitting room are sososososooooo nice. The employees that take your money are typical H&M/American Apparel snobbish hipsters or whatever, but I'll allow it. read more

Ever since I paid my first visit to an H&M in California, I dreamed of having one in Austin. And that dream has come true! This is a giant 2-story store, in the heart of the Domain. The best thing about H&M is that they actually have a good-sized men's section. Sure, it's only half the size of the ginormous acres of woman's clothing on the first floor, but at least there is more than just a tiny corner of the store set aside for men! Nothing drives me battier than seeing 2-3 racks of clothes total for guys, when girls get the entire store. But I digress. I may not be hip enough to wear most of the clothes here, but you can't beat a nice-fitting v-neck for $7.50. In multiple colors! Even their dress clothes are inexpensive - nice pants for $20-$30. Being a shorter guy (5'6") it's hard to find clothes that fit. Most men's "small" sized shirts fit me like a dress. Thanks to H&M, I don't have to worry about that! My only beef, though, is that their pant sizes are a little strange - I had to go up a few sizes to get a comfortable fit (which scared me a little). I blame it on the US/European size differences. I went with my friend to return some items she ordered online. The worker said she was unable to return one of the items because it was not on the receipt we provided. We looked at the receipt and realized that H&M accidentally sent the right shirt but in the wrong size, which is why she was unable to return it. We were not upset in anyway we just wanted to figure out what to do from here. She called over a male manager who came over and was mad before he even started talking. We were hardly able to explain the situation before he started yelling at us...it was so shocking that tears welled up in my eyes. Again, we weren't even mad we just wanted to figure out what to do. He said he can't help it and there's nothing he can do about it and he said there's another company who is responsible for the mistake not them so we have to take it up with them? He continued to raise his voice and at one point leaned over the register and was pointing in my face. I've never had a confrontation with a worker before - as I am a service worker myself and I understand how hard the industry can be. I asked him why he was being so hostile...that's when he threw his hands up in the air walked away and said "I f******* quit, f*** this, you raise your voice at me that's a f***** threat!!!!!" Me and my friend were genuinely so shocked I felt like it was an out of body experience. The worker apologized to us on behalf of her manager and then said she would get another manager. Instead of waiting to potentially experience another horrible manager we just left. This was an extremely upsetting experience and I can safely say I will not be shopping at H&M ever again. read more

The prices were amazing.. the store was busy, but i made my way just fine. The customer service was great and the sizes though do run kind of different. Some stuff made me feel fat, saying I was a size 14, and others made me feel good, being a size 10.. so just depends on the cut. Prices go from $10 to $100.. Nothing like a clothing store to remind you that you ate way too much after Thanksgiving and Christmas like H&M. I have always been a H&M fan from their stores in NY and VA. Somehow when I walked into this location, I was disappointed. I was able to find some of the clothes that I was looking for (black heels and jeans). However, it took me a very frustrated hour to get the right size. Many of the sales staff stood around and never offered to help. Even when i showed my frustration with sizing in the dressing room, the dressing room rep just laughed it off. Of course I could have JUST asked for help, but nooooooo, Im too darn stubborn. I also thought it was pretty obvious after I had been to the dressing room twice already with 2-3 pairs of the same black skinny jeans each time. For those who dont know, the sizes are European sizes so it tends to run very small. Me generally wearing size 2 and 26 in jeans, My shirt sizes were 4-6 and my jean that I ended buying was 29"x32". Prices are great, the quality is decent. Let me end on a good note though, the way how the dressing rooms ran, it was like a well oiled machine. There were so many girls in line for the dressing room each time and I've only had to wait about 0-2 minutes. The guy working there was so friendly and made sure that the traffic flow in the room was in and out. The clerk checking me out in the men's dept was also very friendly and offered me gift boxes with my purchase. I am still a H&M fan but I may only make sure I come when I have plenty of time on my hands. read more

Well like most people in Austin, couldn't have been more pleased that this store came to town. I went the second week they've been opened. Let's say they play the music way to loud to even shop, let alone talk or think. I asked the sales person if they could turn it down, apparently I wasn't the first person to ask this. By the way, it was never done, very reason I just left everything I was holding to leave. My head was pounding so badly due to the music volume. Since I tend to shop in the domain a lot, I hear the same complaint from others. I love shopping at H&M for my toddlers clothes but I will say I will never go back to the store at the Domain. They have the absolute worst customer service imaginable. I went in to return a couple of pieces of clothes for my daughter and the associate was so put off by my return- mainly because she was so confused as to how to process the return. She kept saying she could not do it and I asked her to call the manager to help. He eventually came and showed her whAt to do- but by that point she was angry and throwing my new clothes in a bag and pushing the bag to me and walking away. As I was walking away I told her she needed to learn to be kind- and she went off behind the checkout line yelling at me and being extremely confrontational saying she's pissed bc I asked her to call the manager over.
