I'm not surprised to see that this location has terrible reviews . I shop at h&m very often for my husband and kids. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience while shopping at this location ! I was baffled when I found out the girl helping me was the manager. The manager Diana needs to go work at McDonald's with the type of attitude and service she gives. I use to work retail and from my experiences it just seemed like she hated her job , I hope she gets a secret shopper so her attitude towards customers changes. I bought a shirt yesterday that was too big on my daughter I went in today to exchange it and according to their manager Uriel they could not exchange my shirt because the tags were not on and that was "their new store policy " Nowhere on the receipt or H&M's policy does it state that. I then call customer service and they get on the phone with Uriel he then proceeds to LIE and tell the representative that the reason he wouldn't exchange my shirt was because there was visible wear and tear but not once did he mention that to me. If you dial the number provided just know it is not to the store. The wait time is more than 5 minutes, according to the recording (thanks for the dose of vagueness). I currently am on hold now and the Brit voice just said "Currently there are a lot of people calling us." (Ya think?) This voice js amazingly more unprofessional that the first recording. It selivers the feeling of being spoken down to. You have to call it to believe it. At this point, I could have driven to the store to get the answer but, I am pretty sure I would shower, get dressed and (just got another "Currently there are a lot of people calling us" recording) drive there to be met with a slew of 20-somethings who will ask me, after a lengthy detailed explanation, "What? Let me ask my co-worker" that employee will lead to a manager who says ... "I don't know." Thia is what I have come to expect (Saving this to my drafts). FAST FORWARD: I showered and drove to the store. The question I couldn't not find an answer to on-line caused me to call their phone number. In turn, the 25 minutes on hold caused me to finally hang up, shower and drive there. Once there I found two employees near to one another. I then, surprisingly, only had to ask my question once. What was the answer, which came in less than 15 seconds? "No we dont have that." So, out the door I went. WHAT I LEARNED: Don't trust websites. Don't call this company. If you don't heed to my warning and call anyway, charge your phone battery first. Be prepared to drive store to store to possibky not find that which you seek. I think this is the worst H&M I've been to. The workers got attitude and they have no idea how to do simple math or input things correctly. They were too lazy to input the item number in manually. The manager was so lazy he didn't even want to try another way to fix the pricing issue as well. But then comes I believe Dominick the tall gentleman with curly hair. The only kind enough employee to actually help and try to listen to what I was saying. Literally the kindest one that was so patient with me while the rest just got so annoyed for me telling them what they were doing could be fixed. The store has many clothing selections and accessories. I went to the store to look for men's vests for my brother. Fortunately, this H&M had some vests and in different styles. The best part was it was affordable and the material is good quality. The store is well lit and clean. The clothes are not disorganized and you can easily find where things are located. They have the store divided into two sections. The left side is for men's clothing and the right side is for women and children. The store is located inside the Stonewood Center Mall. I was greeted by one staff member who said "Hello" which was nice to be acknowledged. read more

This H&M is a recent addition to the Stonewood Mall in Downey. Kudos to the staff for being surprisingly pleasant and helpful. Our 3-year-old daughter, my mini fashionista, pointed out that this store was not messy "like that other store." From the mouths of babes. The dressing rooms while on the small side and equipped with curtains for doors were brightly lit and mostly clean. I just wish there were more hooks. One for my purse. One for all of my selections. One for the "um, nos." And one for the "I love its." More hooks. More more more! Like any other H&M, this store is a fairly large. TIP Mothers-to-be: I didn't actually check it out, but there is a maternity section in the children's area towards the back. Worst H&M ever!! Sucks that there is no option for 0 stars. Went in to try on some clothing and the African American Female manager had the worst attitude. Went into fitting rooms and she gave me a very straight look on the way out and asked to take my 1 piece of clothing. Then at checkout there was this male employee who was hesitant to call her because he wanted to avoid getting her "mad" at him for making her come over to help him again and mentioned he was going to be "out of h&m soon". She is a manager in the end of the day and employees should have no reason to hold back of asking a manager for help.Furthermore, she came and gave me an attitude for not knowing how to properly use an employee discount at checkout. She had to void my transaction and literally pushed my hand out of the way so she can reach for the pin pad and cancel the payment. On top of that, at the end when everything was paid for she pulled us aside to give us a lecture on how to properly use a discount and said that my sisters manager didn't teach her correctly while still holding her attitude. I gave it one star because they humiliated me. I went to the store around 5pm yesterday. I had gone on Sunday before and I asked some girl who was walking around about the 15% discount if you donate some clothes. She said it could be anything. I said cool, thanks and took a pamphlet. Now when I went back to the store I forgot my bag. But I've seen people just leave the clothing items and ask for a bag (at a different location). I wait in line before getting what I wanted to obtain the coupon first. There's one cashier and a girl who clearly seems to be organizing HANGERS(like why when you have people waiting) and does not acknowledge any of us. So, I go up to her and ask "oh excuse me I brought some clothes, how can I get the coupon?". She looks at me with the dirtiest look and then my clothes and says" it needs to be 5 items and in a bag". So then I proceed to tell her" well there's no sign that says that and I came yesterday and they told me I could bring whatever." The she repeats it and talks to me like I'm stupid and says "yeah... you can... buuuuuut it has to be 5 i teams or more and in a bag." Then people start looking and then I say "yeah I get that, you just told me that but one of your co workers told me I could bring whatever as long as I bring a bag." Then she looks at me like I'm stupid and says "ok, fine let me ask a manager." She calls the manager on the walkie and says "it'll be a few minuets, she'll get here though." So I waited about 15 and she comes back and says "my manager said we can do this only one time but next time it has to be 5+ iteams and in a bag... ". Then I got what I wanted purchase it and called costumer service. At this point I just wanted to get the hell out of there. So I spoke to a manager at the costumer service phone number (sweet girl btw never had a problem with phone service), she heard the situation and said "no, that's not right. It's 3 i teams and in a bag. If they do that again call us and we will let them know the correct procedures."I also made sure to ask if Every H&M had a different policy and she said no. It's a coupon not a voucher. (I called around 5:18pm) First of all, the manager never came. She could have told her they where doing me the favor this one time on the walkie talkie thing. Secondly, why is the managers miss informing the staff. Thirdly, it was the most embarrassing situation. THEYRE not doing me a god damn favor for a 15% coupon. I walked up to the cash register to pay, I made my payment, I took two steps away and noticed my receipt is blank! I informed the cashier and she asked if I could wait until she finished with the customer. I asked if there is a manager, she said quite frankly "I am the manager"! So I then continued to wait. She tried to print out the receipt again, which kept printing out blank!!!! She then said I'll have to go to the back. The customer she was ringing up while I waited also noticed her receipt was blank. After 20 minutes of waiting she came out with printed receipts in hand and handed out my "receipt" unfortunately for me, she gave me the wrong receipt!!!!! I informed her it is incorrect and she handed another with a look as if I was wrong and that too was incorrect! I was a little dissapointed with the customer service here. I've been to this location numerous times and usually encounter friendly staff. I would've loved to give this store at least four stars but from my previous encounter I'm going to give them 3. I would've gave them two if it wasn't for the staff member at the front of the store. He greeted with a huge smile and I wish I would've gotten some names because there are some great staff at this location, I hadn't ran into anyone that wasn't helpful, until yesterday. I went into the store with an exchange and suprisingly was not treated like a valuable customer. H&M is the primary store where I shop for majority of my clothes. I recently ordered items online and found that two items I had order did not fit. I don't know if they recently changed their sizes but I ordered this tank top in a S, but it fit me as if I had ordered a large? I have the exact same shirt, brand and size already. The only difference was in color, and I bought two of these tops. When I went in to exchange them for an XS I was quickly dismissed by the cashier. She didn't bother to look up any information on her register, nor did she go to the back to check if the item was in the store. She straight out told me, "We don't carry this, you can either get a refund or pick another item". The cashier even said, "We just started accepting on-line returns" in a very rude manner. As if my attempt to exchange my items was a burden to her. I was very dissapointed because she didn't do anything except for take the clothes out of the packages, fold them up and put them back inside. Now I went home and luckily spoke with someone through the H&M website. Come to find out the items that I brought into exchange were not only AVAILABLE at the store, but they were NOT an online exclusive (Which is what I orginally had told the cashier). So now I have to return my items with the Parcel sticker that was given & I have to repurchase my items, and wait another two weeks. All because one cashier was providing horrible customer service. I hope that someone in charge reads this review. I will not let this experience keep me from shopping at H&M but it might discourage me from shopping at this location. The cashier was a little heavy set and wore glasses with medium to short red wavy/curl hair. I don't want to get anyone in trouble but when you're not doing your job, and instead are making the customer feel like a burden. Someone needs to hear about it even if that someone is a customer reading this review. And this saddens me because I work in retail. If or when a customer is asking me for help whether they're exchanging, returning, or simply looking for something thats not on the shelf. I will go out of my way to get them whatever it is they need. Regardless if that means I have to go to the warehouse and search for the product they're looking for or even call another store, THATS MY JOB!! read more

This location is the nearest to my home, but definitely not my favorite. Time and time again I continue to be disappointed at the lack of customer service offered at this store. It has only been once where I was helped by a friendly girl. The chain goes up to management, which today happens to be the person that helped me. The lady never once acknowledged me but made sure to chew the gum she was chewing thoroughly. Decent store, but crappy service along with employees with the attitude to match. read more
