10/8/23 It's been ages since I stepped foot inside a Lane Bryant store. I check out their clearance areas sometimes & find great deals, today I found a summer top that was originally priced at $56.95, after a 75% off, got it for $8.39. Yes! The lady at the register was friendly & helpful, conversant. Their merchandise is of good quality, although a bit pricey, most of the clothing I've purchased in the past have lasted well. The employees are always amiable. This one os located in the Lakewood Center mall, near Target, close to the carousel. My only complaint is, they do have plus sizes but limited to plus sized TALL women. Like....Hello Lane Bryant, short/petite XL women are people, too . I would love to see their designers & visionaries come up with designs for clothes for short & stout women to look fabulous. read more

It's been several years since Ive shopped at Lane Bryant. I decided to buy myself some new clothes for the first time in years. The last Lane Bryant I shopped in was at Del Amo mall in Torrance. I was shocked to learn that they closed a while ago. I was told to try Lakewood Lane Bryant. What a fantastic experience. Kayla was fabulous and so was Lorna. They were extremely friendly, helpful and personable. Kayla helped me to find several really cute and very nice pieces of clothing. I had only intended to buy one sweater and a pair of black casual pants. However, they were having a 40% off of everything in store and there were so many cute things that I liked, I tried all of them on and really liked the way everything looked on me. I bought them all. It was so nice to do something for myself instead of just paying bills and buying Christmas gifts for others. I went in thinking I would spend $100 and ended up spending $400. All on sale! Upon my arrival I told them about the item on hold and they called me by name the entire time I was in the store trying to determine what size would work best for me. This was the worst Lane Bryant visit that I've ever experienced. My daughter and I visited this Lakewood, CA location on a lunch and shopping day. My daughter is going off to college soon, and we "were" having a great day. When we arrived in the store we were the ONLY customers there. We immediately began looking at bras as we worked our way towards the front/register area. There was an associate behind the area BEHIND the register counter. I told her that I was looking for a certain bra, and she came up to approach us. I raised my blouse to show her which one. I purchase them all of the time. I also apologized for lifting my blouse. We both laughed. She then pointed to the back of the store area to direct me in the area those particular bras were WITHOUT assisting! Mind you, we were the ONLY two people in the store. My daughter and I shopped around for a while looking for bras. The associate (Teresa), her name according to my receipt, NEVER asked if we needed assistance or a bra fitting. I have been a regular LB customer and card holder for over 20 years, maybe closer to 30! I know the routine. I wanted one of the bras I was purchasing in the color brown. I walked back to the front and asked Teresa if they had my size in that brown. She nonchalantly said we have only what's out there... I instantly became annoyed. I then asked her if she could see if they had it on the website. To my surprise, she said, "I doubt it because those were Fall colors, and we have Spring stuff out now." I then asked again, she appeared annoyed. I said, "Please don't make me beg you to look it up. She rudely asked, "What color again?" Now I'm FURIOUS, but I don't want to get my daughter upset if I cause a scene! She rudely began searching on the computer, and I had to walk away looking at other clothing items to keep calm! I continued shopping around until my daughter came to the register with her items to purchase. I had won a gift card in a raffle at the Lane Bryant Torrance location (by the way has OUTSTANDING customer service) almost a year ago and wanted to redeem it at checkout My daughter presented it to her, and she said slide it. My 17 year old daughter did, but there was an issue because we hadn't scratched the code from the back of the card. She watched my daughter struggle to scratch it off. I then handed my daughter my Lane Bryant credit card to scratch it off with. I was told by my sister last night that they have a scratch pad right there to remove it. The associate never mentioned it or assisted. A manager or another associate came from the back with papers in her hand and was leaning on the counter going over the paparwork next to us. It looked like she was doing the schedule or something. She appeared to be more friendly and professional and smiled and giggled at me talking to my daughter. I was burning up mad on the inside at Teresa's treatment. I wanted to complain right then and there, but it would not have been pretty, and I didn't want to ruin our mommy and daughter day. I held it in but thought about it all night. I did the store survey at 6 am. I am now doing this Yelp report! Teresa had a smirk on her face the entire time and spoke to me almost condescendingly! She was rude and unprofessional! I am an African American woman almost 60 years old, I took this treatment very personally. Rarely do I bite my tongue, but I did it to keep the peace. My daughter and I had shopped at Macy's, JC Penneys, and made purchases at all of those places and went to lunch in the mall prior to visiting Lane Bryant. There was no one to greet people walking into the store, and when I asked for help them looked at me as if I were lost. Here's the dealio on 'plus size' stores, people: I am 6 feet tall and wear size 14-16, which falls into the realm of plus sizes. I have a 35 inch inseam, so I also am faced with needing tall sizes for pants and jeans. Not until I started shopping at Lane Bryant could I find clothes that fit me properly. The Good: 1. Their 'Right Fit' jeans are amazing! I have never been able to find jeans that fit correctly or that didn't shrink up after one washing so that I couldn't wear them ever again. They make all different washes, styles, and the bonus is that they are less than $50!! They will even periodically have them on sale for $29.50. Because of this one product I went from never having any stylish jeans to owning 8 pair - all of them from Lane Bryant, and all of them Right Fit brand. 2. I can find everything from professional styled clothing to great casual clothes that are very suited to the California climate. They even carry styles that are trendy but not too trendy. 3. They carry cute accessories like jewelry, scarves, and a limited selection of shoes to compliment their collections. 4. If they don't have your size in stock, they will order it for you from their on line store and ship it to you for free. AWESOME! Then, once you get it, if you need to return it, you can return it to a brick-and-mortar store. DOUBLE AWESOME!! 5. They offer great on line coupons and other promotions that help you get more for your dollar. 6. They offer tall sizes in most of their pants - AMAZING! The Bad: 1. Some of their styles are made for someone without any waste line. I get it - it's plus size. But in general, if someone is a size 14/16, they need a top to be more tailored so that it doesn't look like a maternity shirt. There are ways of designing garments to be figure-flattering without it looking like a circus tent. 2. They don't carry their swimwear in their stores. Their swimwear is pretty pricey, so if I am spending $100 for a swimsuit, I'd at least like to try it on first. Overall, no matter which Lane Bryant I shop in (and I frequent about 3 different ones in So Cal) the associates are very friendly, helpful, and always help you find what you need. read more

A.C. has a shameful secret to share. Ok, here it goes : In spite of her affinity for everything that is hiphop culture, she is not of African-American descent. Sure, she has been able to fool everyone thus far due to her L.A. face with an Oakland booty, but she must come clean and hope her brothas and sistahs still accept her for who she is : a refried-bean-eating, hablando en español, rooster-owning Mejicana. Ok, ok, so she doesn't really own a cock ... unless she has a bit of whiskey in her. HEEEY-OOOH! Anyway, A.C. has been able to get away with this secret for so long due to having a 4-6 size differential from her top and bottom half. She recently had a physical at her doctor's office and when she breathed an exasperated sigh upon gazing at her weight, the medical assistant responded, "Don't worry about that number. You know where you carry it all, right? My men must LOOVE you, girl." Alas, she couldn't be more wrong. In spite of waiting outside of hotels, motels, and Holiday Inns when NBA All-Star weekend descends upon us, she has yet to nag herself a basketball player. If any of you ballers are reading this ... call me. *smooches* I digress. A.C. has always had trouble finding clothes that fit properly. She can find tops at regular-size-carrying retailers (a.k.a. no fat chicks allowed) with no problem, but finding bottoms that fit and don't need to be excessively cinched with a belt, or tailored at the waist, is a damn near impossibility. She has to venture into plus-size-carrying retailers for that task. This Lane Bryant is a little farther from AC's crib than the Stonewood mall location, but it is bigger and carries a wider selection, no pun intended. I can't speak for the tops they carry, as their smallest size is 14, which is way too big for me, but their jeans make a fat girl want to go back to the buffet for seconds. Most are in the $65-$70 range, but Lane Bryant usually has specials more often than not, which makes them a fucking steal. I went during one of their buy one, get the second item half-off sales (equal or lesser value, of course) and bought two pairs for $100. I have owned these jeans for almost a year and they are my most comfortable wardrobe staples. I wear them so often that I am constantly washing them and they have yet to show any significant wear and tear. If anything, I have settled into them quite nicely. Even my darker wash pair has shown no fading. Their underwear selection is also great, as they carry everything from butt floss to granny panties in a wide variety of colors and patterns at affordable prices. There's usually some kind of 5 for $20 special on those, too. They even have a beautiful selection of costume jewelry, which looks like real sterling silver. I bought a long necklace and some bracelets for $30 total and received a ton of compliments on them. L.B. tends to be a little pricier than what some people are accustomed to, along the lines of department store prices, but they more than make up for it in quality. I've lost 15 pounds in the last 2 months, so I probably won't be able to fit into their pants or underwear by the time summer rolls around but, until then, I'm in fat chick heaven. For once, "fat chick heaven" is not the #2 bacon cheeseburger special with chili cheese fries from Jim's Burgers. read more

Bras!! Bras!! Bras!! I searched and searched for a bra that would fit bra size humongous tits, and thought I had failed until I came here. They had so many bras, and they were pretty! That made me even happier. It isn't ever easy to find nice sexy full figured bras for gigantic breasts. They even had nice, feminine pajamas which I also liked. I don't wanna wear basketball shorts n stuff all the time. Service was also nice. Prices are high though. $40 for a bra and the pajama separates I looked at were between $22-24 a piece. I NOW TRULY LOVE this LaneBryant "Cacique" store........I have always loved their bras because they fit amazing, a little more pricey but worth the quality and comfort. I have always had such bad luck with service at this location, that I started to shop their inventory online. Today i needed to make a return and purchase some additional bras and I can say I am HAPPY they have changed the manager. The NEW manager let me just say he and his staff are amazing. They are helpful, friendly, down to earth and love what they do. I will definitely be back for more visits, and I truly love the new inventory of my size bras in great selections. My size is no longer very limited. I love to visit retail or business where the employee's have real personalities and love their jobs vs skill set employee's with no personality. Let me just start by saying that I hate, HATE shopping in malls, so for me to have loved my experience in a store it had to be amazing and let me tell you, it WAS. So I had bought some bras online and had accidentally gotten them the wrong size, so I went in to the store, dreading every second because usually for returns you have to wrestle a bear and hand over your first born son or something equally unbearable, but I was received by an amazing, welcoming staff who quickly set me up with my new bra size, and exchanged all my items. On 11/23 I visited the Lane Bryant store in Lakewood. Went in to return a couple items and to shop around. When I went in Ambar immediately assisted me while assisting she realized I was contemplating buying more items. Helped me find what I was looking for in my size and other things I was willing to try on. SHE WAS AMAZING!!!! Helped me out a lot and I found some great items. While checking out Kim helped me. She was just like Ambar very nice and helpful. I had a previous interaction with Kim and it just goes to show she's a nice person all the time I got the exact same service and I'm thoroughly impressed. On my way out it was brought to my attention that Ambar was actually a manager! Wow! Her enthusiasm and helpfulness really trickles down to the employees who look at her for guidance. I was really excited to go to Lane Bryant especially after a friend recommended it to me. I'm still getting use to my post baby body and needed some new clothes and under garments. Believe the the reviews, customer service is horrible here. I was ignored by 4 employees and I let myself into the dressing room the first time. I was asked to be sized and was told to wait. I waited 20 minutes before grabbing a bunch of different sizes and then went back to the dressing rooms it was locked this time. I asked an employee if I could get into a room. They were laughing and talking and told me to hold. After 20 more minutes they stated taking signs down and completely ignored me. I ended up walking out. The Bra's are a little pricey but I was so turned off my the service I received I don't think I'd even buy them online. I recommend going to Intimate Basics across the way the girls that work there are awesome and they have sizes from A-F. read more

I picked out a bunch of stuff, the girl scans everything (which also took forever because I had a coupon and she had to individually enter each item) she took FOREVER and then she tells me she can only take cash or LB card. The clothes here is ok. Not stuff I would wear but I am a huge fan of the CACIQUE INTIMATES. Their bras are the best! And do not be fooled ladies just because you have tiggo-bitties does not mean you have to wear the grandma bras....They have cute styles and often have the buy 2 bras get 2 free which is not bad. I have been going to Lane Bryant since I was in high school in the 70's. I usually go there for great fitting jeans and the boots. But Lane helps me look outside the box and has me try other styles of clothes. I just bought a pair of 5 pocket ponte pants in black that Lane introduced to me to. I purchased them with taupe block heel boots which Lane recommended and commented how nice they look on me. When I got home, I put my little outfit together with a white blouse and black leather jacket as suggested by Lane and my husband went nuts!! This is not the first time Lane has helped me. I look for him everytime I come in. He is always helpful and attentive and makes me feel great about my purchases. If there is a problem he is there to remedy it. He is the man!!! I've rated other Lane Bryant locations in So Cal but recently I shopped at the Lakewood Mall store and had such a wonderful experience that I felt they deserve the 5 Star award also! Such great customer service was given to me by numerous Associates: Rose, Michaela, Vanessa and Yessenya. On a couple different occasions I was in the store for exchanges on mistaken items that I ordered online and each of these very professional and nice Ladies couldn't have been kinder to me. They spent as much time with me as needed finding the exact items to exchange to make me happy and if the store didn't have my size they gladly ordered the item online quickly, having it shipped for free to my home. It doesn't get much easier than that! And the store they were working at in the Lakewood Mall is so well merchandised with a huge variety, along with it being very clean and tidy, especially the dressing room area, which makes a big difference to me when trying on lingerie items! Thank you to Lane Bryant Corporation for having these wonderful Associates working in your retail store, you are a lucky company to have these Ladies greeting and waiting on your customers, a very happy one like myself! read more

Went here yesterday to buy some summer clothes and undies. After walking into this store I felt like 2 of the workers were petty as hell and had their nose in the air. The first person I saw working was a black woman who looked directly at me and didn't say one word to me. I shopped for about 15 minutes in her area without a "hello" or a "if you need help let me know"! I found some items to try on and I went to the dressing room that had the door cracked since it's obvious I wasn't worthy of any assistance. After trying on my items I came out and walked past her to look at some bras and still NOTHING from her! She acted like I didn't exist. Finally another young lady that works there walked over to me and spoke and asked if I needed assistance. I guess she had been on break because that was the first time I saw her. Even after that the black woman walked over to where I was and straightened some panties out and STILL nothing from her! BUT when another woman walked in who happened to be white, she was all over her like stink on boo boo saying hello and asking if she needed help! They guy that works there who is obviously of the LGBT community treated me the same way the black woman did! They were both butt holes and it made me feel uneasy, so I paid the $162 for my undies and a pair of pants and left. I had planned to do more shopping but i had to get out of there! If they weren't so damn snobby I would have spent at least 900 bucks for some summer clothes! They treated me like I smelled! read more

First of a the store set up is beautifully with a full cacique section... Why one star? I went in with a specific objective to find swimwear clearance. A young guy was handling a call on the phone and he couldn't greet me which is okay-!makes sense. But I was literally standing inches away from two female coworkers- a white redhead was complaining about scheduling or personal issues to the the other coworker who is black. I am Latina and only mention race in case someone is written up which should. happen... Both ignored me. There was only one other patron in the store trying on boots, lNeither women acknowledged me, greeted me, asked me if I needed help though I was looking through racks inches away from them for like five minutes.
