Came in to grab a jacket for my daughter. A little upset because they aren't stocked very well when it comes to sizing. Out of the wild array of styles and choices, they only had two 2T jackets. A random zip up sweatshirt covered in hearts for girls and a tan corduroy shirt jacket for boys. Went with the tan shirt jacket. The woman checking me out was kind. And the shirt jacket was under $14! read more

I didn't have high hopes coming in here, but I was definitely surprised when it came to getting what I was looking for. I had been searching for items all week to complete an outfit I needed for a planned, themed party. I had searched high and low and was about to admit defeat. H&M came in and saved the day. It was a throwback themed party. You could pick whichever decade you wanted and wear clothes that represented. I, being of the 80s/90s, decided since 90s clothing is coming back in would just stick with what I knew. When I got to the men's section, I was not disappointed. I mean they had items that I wasn't even thinking about. I ended up snatching a few items in here and was pleasantly surprised when a majority of what matched the theme was on sale. I have to comment on the building itself. It is beautiful on the inside. That staircase leading up to the second level is kind of breathtaking and a spot where you could definitely snag a great selfie. The staff here were amazing as well. They were helpful when my colleagues were looking for items and took them right where they were. They even knew the sizing of the items they did have on stock. The only thing I can dock them on was that they did not properly deactivate a security tag on one of the items I bought. When I went to go out the front door I had to be stopped and my bag searched. They decided it had to be the shoes I had bought, they wouldn't deactivate them either, which was embarrassing when I went into the next store I had to stop at. read more

I lived that this H&M had a "home section" with various home products like decorations, bedding, and bath accessories. As with all H&Ms, they have a very large selection of items to choose from. I absolutely love the variety. This store was very clean and organized. It didn't look like even a hair was out of place. The stairs to the top floor were very cool, as well. Think "Titanic" staircase. The employees were nice, as well. I loved this H&M! read more

I actually enjoy shopping at H&M. I dislike that most of their stores are attached to malls. This location in New Orleans is closer to a stand alone, with nice displays, and friendly floor staff. They had an amazing sale going on, and was part of our daily walkabout. Their clothes traditionally run smaller than other department stores sizes, so trying on your selections is a must. You will find some great bargains, you just need to be patient while looking. H&M's selection, generally quality, and the fact that shopping for everyone in the family is easy to do here, and makes H&M an easy go to! read more

Oh how I loved H&M, well at least until they came to NOLA. Yeaaaaa yeaaaaa yeaaaa, it should be that way, but it is. The clothes here in the NOLA store are just blah!!! I mean just drab. Now the clothes in the NYC-Soho Store, I could take one of everything. So I say its the fault of the NOLA buyer. So, I haven't given up hope on H&M-NOLA; but for now, I'm glad they've finally embraced technology & I can shop online. I would be remiss at mentioning a few noteworthy things in particular about this store: -children's department is rather small; limited selection -2nd story houses said children's depart & a home decor section -the lines oh the lines... ALWAYS LONG -security is posted up at one or both doors; ehhhhh I don't know the reason for that, but whatever -register upstairs for convenience Like I said I have hope for the store & the clothing line selected; hope the buyer is listening. read more

I usually come back for their disposable jeans. They're already cheap, and I don't have a problem repurchasing them particularly considering H&M accepts your scrap clothing (aka your disposable H&M jeans) as a 15% discount- Or at least they did. Since that discount is no longer, I don't really see any reason to pay for these jeans. Lately the colors are all way off- Black looks like space gray, one pair of the same color & style is completely different... Cheap, inconsistent quality, now more expensive. read more

Great to have some reasonably priced clothes in the tourist area. We were able to stop and grab some great vacation tops for under $5! Wow!! Also, we loved to heat about the clothing and textile recycling program. It is really cool they give a discount for a bag of donated textiles. Like 15%! They then take it apart and repurpose it! read more

Visited this location to grab a jacket while visiting NOLA and Xavi was 100% helpful and demonstrated great customer service. The store is nestled comfortably in the French Quarter and spacious. It's 2 floors and extremely well maintained. Nothing was out of place which was shocking to me since they are in the heart of a tourist town and had people coming in in groups. They had all updated clothing, colors, sizes and trends!! My counter wait time was less then a minute! If I need any clothing needs while visiting Nawlins again, this is where I'm going!! read more

All I heard was ooooh H&M is opening. This is so exciting. OOOHH. I'm going to wait in line for hours....and I finally get there and, yawn. Maybe there was just too much hype. Maybe it's because I hit up a mega-H&M in Germany in the 90s. (The US stores, that I've been to, are pretty much tiny in comparison.) But I don't get it. I'm glad that the retail space isn't idle. I'm glad a major international retailer has come to our fair city. I'm glad that this location has housewares as well as clothing. And I'll probably stop back by when I'm downtown for other reasons but I don't see it becoming a destination shopping venue for me. read more

This H&M saved my freezing rear end Halloween weekend without having to spend massive chunks of money on things that I won't get a ton of use from in Tampa. Yet, I was very stylish, warm, comfy, and knew that H&M could provide what I needed and wanted. I really loved the setup of this store with the two levels and multiple sections (including home! such cute stuff!). Aside from the hideously long checkout line downstairs, this H&M kills it :) PS- I cheated the checkout when I discovered the checkout section in the men's dept upstairs. Go me. read more

I am an H&M lover, and when I saw that red sign in the French Quarter I couldn't stay away! This was honestly the biggest H&M I have ever been in. It has two glorious floors. Ther second floor carries home decor!! Mind Blown! My friend, who has never been to an H&M went CRAZY! She bought over $300 worth of clothes... all in under an hour of shopping!! I never ever write reviews, nor do I feel compelled to, however I was extremely unhappy with the service I dealt with today. I've worked in customer service for years, and I know firsthand how much of a pain customers can be. I know that many complaints are customers just being "Karens" but this is not the case. I was way nicer and forgiving in. this situation than I probably should have been. First off, I was attempting to purchase a pair of jeans that had originally been priced at $60 but had been placed in an area with a sign above that said they were on sale for $14.99. I thought this was a great deal and tried to buy them. I also was going to buy a pair of gold hoop earrings. When I finally got to the counter, the woman behind the counter made me put in my account information on her phone (which was...weird) but I did it nonetheless. Then, I paid my total and was walking away when I happened to check my receipt and thank God I did. My total paid was $5. I was...confused and realized that I had only been charged with the earrings so I returned to the counter, knowing that I would be stopped by the sensors on the way out. I wanted to save myself as well as the girl behind the counter embarrassment. When I returned, the girl was...gruff...and when she rung up the jeans it was showing $60 as my total. Confused, I told her I believed that they were on sale. This girl rudely explained to me as if I was three years old that someone had mistakenly put them in the sale section. When I tried to tell her that there was a whole rack of jeans there, she cut me off and told me I was paying full price. I said never mind and left. I haven't been home in hours and finally opened my bag just now to find that my earrings aren't even in the bag!! She must have taken them out when I returned to the counter. This has been such a waste of time and I would be so much more forgiving and definitely not writing a review if they would have had just an ounce of customer service. H&M is one of my favorite places to shop. Literally. The location near the French Quarter is perfect for attracting tourists and passers by. Within walking dustance of everything including the iconic Cafe Du Monde. This store is huge but the selection of clothing can improve. Other than that it is a great store for those looking for home furnishings. You will feel like a kid in a candy store shopping here. Whatever you do do not shop here during Mardi Gras because this place closes early during that day and folks will be too busy partying all night. read more

It's so odd to come up to H&M as you are trying to make your way to Cafe du Monde on an evening when 1) I have had waaaaay too much beer in a fish bowl, 2) it's hard to think that the store is STILL open even when it felt like (to me at least) it was past 9pm, and 3) to find a retail store you can shop at while you are trying to get past the amount of beer you drank in early said fishbowl. First off, let me tell you - being in here and being kinda tipsy made for hard times to go upstairs to visit the Home and Plus Size sections of H&M. Good thing for rails! (I didn't notice the Elevator until I came back down and went up to pay for the $5 bath towels I found). The Home section was surprisingly big and had a lot of great stuff on sale! The Plus Size section was small but mighty. Employees were kind and seemingly ready to get out of there as the time got closer to closing time. No one bothered me nor asked me if I needed help, which I liked considering I had some beers beforehand. :) It's worth a stroll to check out H&M in the French Quarter (who ever thought this was a good idea?!) just to say you went in and got to walk off your tipsiness. read more

My husband and I come to Nola @ the beginning of every year. We like to get away and unwind after the holidays have wrapped up. Being in walking distance and needing to grab something to layer with a few outfits (as it's been chilly a few days) I walked down to H&M yesterday.... I am sitting in our hotel @ the Monteleone writing this review now. I would of given this store 5 stars easily, if it weren't for the customer service, or the lack there of. That being said, the store had a huge selection of clothing and even home goods to choose from. The store is large and roomy. I simply took the two stars away as they are extremely understaffed! Very nice, new and clean store. Everything seemed to be well stocked with a variety of sizes and colors available. I'm sure that you already know about the great prices offered at H&M. This is one of the reason why we stopped in. The three star rating comes from the service. The service was slow, un energetic, unhelpful and unpleasant. I asked one employee about the price of an item because the sticker on the tag said $15 but the ginormous sign above these shirts said $10. I asked if he would check the price for me. The employee played dumb and apparently didn't understand or care what I was asking. The checkout process was unbelievably slow and inefficient. There was only 2 guys in front of me and we each had 2 items.... Now think about how long that should take...I waited 20 minutes to get checked out. Not the best trip to an H&M. read more

This place is Big - really big and really good. I had to pick up a pair of shorts during my visit to NOLA. My plan was to just pop in for 10 minutes tops and grab something. I saw so many things I didn't need for my visit . . . but I wanted them! Needless to say, I stayed for over an hour and I left H&M with a bunch of clothes I wasn't expecting to get. I have never packed properly for a trip in my life. As a child, my parents had a *very* strict carry on only rule, and I've been abiding by it for 31 years. This means, when traveling I always need something. A coat, more socks, sunglasses, etc. I manage to keep it tight, but that doesn't mean I'm not scatterbrained... Enter this H&M. Recently in NOLA I needed tights and dress shoes for a work event. This Hennes location did me well. The only reason I'm giving it three stars instead of four is the music is sooo loud. Maybe I'm too old for H&M now? Or maybe, like, turn down the beats... I beg of you. read more

It's suppose to be a flagship store although it doesnt feel like it. Housewares is way too small. So is their curvey girl section. It's teeny. If you're curvey don't expect too much. 1. It was pretty exciting to see them open a H&M! Apparently Im not the only one. It's always crowded and everything I need is always out, which makes me sad! I love the good finds but if you don't get it soon as they put it out you may be out of luck. 2. Parking is hell. It's French Quarters, you will be lucky if you find street parking, if not most likely you need to catch the bus down here are pay to park. There are near lots, mainly expensive but my preferred lot for lots of things in French Quarters is Canal Place. 3. Plus Size section is non-existent. It's a few things upstairs for plus size but definitely nothing they cater to and don't expect too many options. read more

H&M is really nothing special. It's cheap clothing at a cheap price. I don't know why so many locals got so excited about this place. I guess it's just because it's new. Meanwhile, if you wanted to, you could just go shopping on the H&M website. But uh...I guess people didn't realize that. H&M is located in a prime spot in downtown New Orleans, and to me, it just seems out of place. If I was a tourist, I wouldn't want to waste my time shopping at a huge national chain store, but I guess that's me. The clothing style is basically modern casual tops, bottoms and dresses for girls. They have stuff for men and kids, but I honestly didn't check that stuff out when I went. Honestly, you can find clothing that is just as nice or nicer at one of the little shops on Magazine St., and by shopping there you are supporting local business. read more

If you are looking for cheap, trendy clothes, this is a great place to go! The racks are crammed full of fun and cutesy designs mostly in sizes which cater to the under 30 set, possibly more focused on 14-24 year old females. The racks are so full that is it hard to find some items buried under other styles and the racks are so close together that some parts of the store are rather maze-like...enjoy. read more

I went to the store at 418 N Peters St in New Orleans this afternoon to return an online purchase. The bar code on the packing slip did not bringing up the item I purchased, so the manager with whom I spoke said that he could not process a refund. He could only call Customer Service for assistance, and because of the time of year, their hold time was 45 minutes. Evidently, there's no way to punch in Refund (purchase price) and just do it, independent of the order record in the system. Nor would he give take the item, give me the cash, and figure out how to process it in the system later. So, the H&M computer system - or perhaps this employee's lack of knowledge of it - is now my problem. Not only would he not assist at all, but he was rude in the process. I was not loud or abusive, nor did I swear at him. I did suggest that he must have a way of making the computer issue not my problem. This employee's attitude is not helpful or appropriate, and it is certainly not appreciated. He should know how to handle such a situation quickly so that no other customers are subjected to this inconvenience. Also - the item I attempted to return was of extremely poor quality. read more

I went to Mardi Gras and the entire time I was checking the forecast for New Orleans the temperature was in the 60s. They were hit by a storm and it was in the 30s and 40s and raining. Desperately needing another layer, I was very happy to find H&M. Clothes are well priced and fashionable. Much larger than the H&M back home. I spent some time looking through the home collection because my store doesn't have one. Now I wish it did. There is a good selection, but they were lacking in gloves and scarves. read more

During the French Quarter Jazz festival I stopped by this H&M store to buy some shorts. It's a big 2 story store. The lines do get long pretty fast but I didn't spend more than 10 minutes before another cashier showed up. I did notice that the employee in the fitting room didn't even look at me when I was returning items and just told me to hang them. I was having a good day so I ignored her attitude and went about my day. Even with all the chaos going on with the jazz festival the store still looked very well organized and neat. read more

H&M is such a great store. I had to pick up a coat while in New Orleans. A cold front came through while we were there and I needed a nice coat to wear to a wedding with my dress. Hey had plenty of options. I didn't know they also had kids clothing before this visit so we picked out a few kids items for Christmas gifts as well. They had some fantastic sale items . The over all prices of the clothes are great. Can't beat it . Wish we had more H&M in our area. read more

When I saw that they have the H&M plus size line I got very excited. I usually shop at H&M in Germany and their BB line is amazing. The plus size department is on the second floor. Once I got up there, I didn't see any plus sizes so I asked the clerk where they were located. I was then told that they sold out. I thought he was joking because there is not one specified location upstairs for the plus size department. I said to him "oh, you haven't started carrying the line yet?" Then his colleague came up and said that they sold out and their stock will not be replenished until the end of April/May. He also said that they did not think this would happen but Management thought the line wouldn't sell. Hello! You're in the south where the majority of the women are overweight/have big booties! I love H&M clothing and whenever I was in a city that had an H&M, I would spend over an hour there and leave with at least $200 in merchandise. That said, you can understand my excitement when an H&M opened not only in my city, but in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, this excitement was met with palpable disappointment when the store opened and I saw the selection of clothing available. It may not be true for the selection of women's clothing (which is much larger), but the clothing that the buyer for this particular store has chosen to stock in the men's section is all on the low end of the H&M spectrum. You won't find any of the "premium quality" selections here that you can find on the online store (i.e, no 100% cotton dress shirts and not a single wool suit--everything is either polyester or a poly blend, which a very odd choice for such a hot climate) and for some strange reason, every pair of jeans that I have ever looked at has had a minimum length of 32in, despite the availability of other sizes online. All in all, if you like H&M clothing, you'd be better off shopping in another city cosmopolitan enough for H&M to stock their more high-end fashions or go through the inconvenience and extra expense of ordering from the online store. read more

Not a bad location... It's a huge store! I've never seen it particularly messy either, which is common in H&M stores I've been to. Staff isn't particularly helpful, or friendly, but then again I never see them walking around to help, so they've never bothered me. 4/5 stars because I think the general quality of the clothes is hit and miss. H&M has the worst customer service when it comes to trying to get information on a particular item over the phone. They screen your call as though you're trying to reach someone at the White House. It's the worst ever! The person I spoke to finally gave in and said that he would make an exception and transferred me to the store. It didn't get any better. They are idiots! read more
