I've been shopping at Hemline since '11 when I first discovered their location in Madison, Ms. Moved back home to New Orleans and actually started working at Hemline for a short period of time during Covid. There is always a great selection of clothes + shoes. The girls are always helpful when trying on clothes and that's what I love. I love all the other hemline locations but this place was ridiculous yesterday. I had 2-3 workers on my case the entire time I was there. They wouldn't let me out of my dressing room and kept bringing me more things that I didn't like or want to try. I told them multiple times no and they kept saying things to combat me. I only came to this location to try a skirt in a size that the magazine location didn't have and when it OBVIOUSLY didn't fit, they didn't care and kept insisting I get it even though I said multiple times I don't like it. I left very ticked off and will never go to that location again. Go to the magazine location. Save yourself. Update: I need to exchange one piece and return a pair of shoes that were ordered on approval and all the workers that wouldn't leave me alone in the store can't seem to find the time to help me now.... not surprised. I've been to the other locations in NOLA, but this is the original store and they have really cute clothes (some at OMG prices) and the staff is really nice. The space is gorgeous with lots of exposed brick and really attractive displays of accessories. The selection was good with a number of different styles and brands to appeal to a variety of customers and sizes. I also think the girls who work here are wonderful. However, this boutique is also very pricey and mostly everything there is out of my budget. I managed to arrive in New Orleans with only the clothes on my back (long story) and they made shopping for a weekend's worth of clothes both entertaining and memorable. I'm just slightly obsessed with this adorable boutique. And if you didn't catch that, I really meant the opposite of slightly. I remember Hemline from when I lived in New Orleans years ago, so it was definitely on my must-visit list for my trip to Nola last weekend. On our very first day we stumbled upon it by accident and I fell completely back in love, as I knew I would. With the latest fashions from lines like Gypsy05, Nanette Lepore, Tracy Reese, Amanda Uprichard, Dolce vita, and so many more, you'd be hard pressed not to find something that catches your eye. They have tons of accessories, too, from shoes and bags to jewelry and even parasols. The women who work there are so friendly and helpful, too, which is key to a good boutique for me. I never once felt pressured to purchase anything, which always makes me more inclined to spend my money at a store, I ended up snagging a pair of sandals on that first day that saved me throughout the weekend! Then, I returned on Monday after exploring other shops and bought an awesome dress. I've only been to this location and the one on Magazine Street, and they do carry different inventory, as other yelpers have mentioned. This French Quarter location is apparently the flagship store, so it makes sense that they have more product than other stores. If I lived in Nola, I'd definitely be in trouble with this boutique. We found the most beautiful gold and silver sequin gown (yes sequin). It was so glamorous! When I visited New Orleans my main objectives were to: party like a local, eat like a local, and shop any and everywhere. Misson complete when I stepped into this place. On Sunday, Oct. 22nd I was attending a family wedding from out of town in the French Quarter. Unfortunately, as I'm about to walk out of the door to the wedding- the zipper on my dress completely broke and was un-fixable. I was frantic and having a major meltdown! Honestly a girls worse nightmare. I ended up buying a new dress as fast as I possibly could at Hemline. The staff were absolute lifesavers and the best people I have ever met! These girls asked me price limit and were throwing me multiple different dresses to try on while I was in the dressing room. They were absolute life savers and I do not know what I would have done without them. I ended up leaving the store in a dress that I loved and some jewelry for a finishing touch. And to top it off they gave me an awesome discount! Love this store and the staff are literally amazing. read more
