No matter what city you're in, you go into a Buffalo Exchange, and you feel like you've been in it before. This is because all of the locations are designed and laid out very much the same. Like all Buffalo Exchange locations, this shop offers the best of the best of vintage clothing, footwear, accessories, and jewelry. Everything they have for sale is chosen from all of the clothing and other items that sellers bring into the shop. From there, only the best of the best is purchased. Meaning, whatever it is that they offer to their customers has been well examined. The people that work in this shop, are all super nice. So, if you need any help, I'm sure that they are more than happy to give it to you. Located on Magazine Street, this business is super easy to find. In terms of parking, they have parking all over the place. You can find parking spots on Magazine Street, or the streets that surround the business. So, that should never be a problem. Buffalo Exchange has been a staple in my thrift store rotation forever. You have to sift through a lot of clothes but you will find a few nice pieces ever so often. My heart was broken when I found the most beautiful beaded, silk skirt that simply didn't fit. Humbling experience but that's the way it goes sometimes. I am so confused by this Buffalo Exchange. This is a consignment store, that seems more geared towards young, college aged people. Immediately upon walking inside it smelled like young people after working out. I'm not sure about you, but I'd rather inhale the odor of old people moth, then this. On another note, why is everything so overpriced? Why is a basic white tee shirt $30? There are some nicer shoes and purses, that are in pretty good shape, but their prices aren't any better than at Nordstrom Rack. My destination for my day out of downtown from the conference. This was planned far in advance, I am addicted to thrifting and whenever I travel, I love going to thrift shops. It's a way to get a taste of what the locals are into. I downloaded the Le Passe bus pass and took the local bus from my hotel to Magazine street. Found the shop and started looking around. It's large and full of great items. Most of the staff were easy to talk to. One lady was more stand offish, because I asked her if there are any public bathrooms? Answer was, no and there aren't any in the area unless you eat at a restaurant. Note to others, be ready if this happens to you, go hungry so you can use a bathroom at a restaurant. Back to the shop. I tried on some items, not that many, because I had to #1. Paid for a jean jumpsuit and necklace pendant. I'm sure that there was more I could've found, but nature was calling. read more

we gave them so many things they are extremely picky. We gave them hundreds of dollars worth of items and got 50$ out of a select few of them. An employee yelled at us for blocking the door as soon as we walked in. She was wearing pink glasses and a dress and poncho with brown hair if that helps. The wait time was insane and the employees barely looked at the items before putting them back. They took name brands like lululemon worth hundreds and barely gave us anything towards store credit. Hmmm, I feel like the last time I was there, the service was bad, not from everyone, but from the person I was dealing with. I didn't love that. I've worked in retail, so whenever someone doesn't have good, or at least decent, customer service, it really annoys me. I understand that not everyone is familiar with the process; I've worked in consignment as well, so I get the frustration of sorting clothes, pricing, sales, etc. However, the attitudes in here can sometimes be a little too much. Like, we're all in Buffalo Exchange. Besides that, it's your average Buffalo, good selection, nice part of town. read more

Cute shop, much larger than I thought it would've been. Visiting from out of state and I could've spent much longer here than I did, plus didn't want to buy too much. We were greeted and asked if we were selling or buying, a bit confused on that part. Only downside that the prices feel high considering most items are secondhand (Shein products are sold here, which I didn't like, they should've been sold more cheaper). Got a long sleeve, shorts and sandals for $51, and nothing was name brand. But if you do some digging around you can find some good items. They do have fitting rooms so that's a plus. Just wish the prices were lower considering some items are from Target and other similar stores. read more

They open at 11! Came here on a week day pretty early at opening time and like 5 other people were waiting with me. Everything is organized by size and item of clothing. I like the organization and you can try on clothes! The only parking available is parallel, but you can park in the neighborhoods nearby. I found some Aritzia/UO things that I liked that weren't too expensive. Be careful though, I did find some dresses where the straps were about to break off. read more

If you love quality second hand shops, you will love it here. The goods move quickly so as a shopping experience it's seldom redundant. Because the fashions are quality, things are priced well; but not cheap. Parking isn't bad in the neighborhood but Magazine Street is very busy. You could miss it if you're enjoying the view but it's the same block with the big SW paint store, which most folks know. I like Buffalo Exchange more than Atlanta's--where I used to shop years ago when I lived there. Both charge for bags and that price continues to go up. There's something with tokens that I've never understood but it helps shoppers and the community somehow. read more

I am heartbroken and distraught right now. I woke up this morning and decided to sell some clothes. I have always trusted and shopped ag buffalo exchange but today marks the day I no longer go. I brought in a bag of clothes and after they went through all of them they offered me $50 in store credit. I decided that wasn't a fair offer so I asked for my clothes back and I would try my luck elsewhere. To my surprise I was told they will not give me my clothes back and I would have had to stay up at the table with them as they sorted my clothes. This is a fair warning to all sellers do not waste your time walking around the store while they pick through your clothes and low ball you on an offer. They also did not have golden tee which made the wait feel much longer. read more

Denise reminds me of a corrupt Louisiana politician. I took my elderly relative with me and he knows nothing about this process but notice strange behavior. Buffalo Exchange is so awesome! I love coming here to buy some hip, NAME BRAND clothing. I found a VINTAGE dress for my girlfriend from Forever 21 for only $47.99! Everyone here is so nice and stylish, not fake or stuck up or grotesque at all. Oh, and sell your old clothes here, you WILL get rich. Why would you go to some yucky thrift store and donate your clothes when you can sell them to Buffalo Exchange for literally hundreds of dollars? Don't forget to put one of the 5 cent tokens they give out in the Trans Youth Fund. And make sure you tip your cashier, too. They have an extremely hard and stressful job, on par with a first responder, but probably even worse to be honest. read more

Ric and I have a MOTHERLODE of vintage denim in storage, gently worn and in good condition. Going back twenty years at least. These are from the 1980s/90s/2000s....made in the USA. LEE/LEVI/WRANGLER. The selection here can be hit and miss (like, I'm not paying $17 for used Old Navy jeans) but I do like this location because they tend to buy a lot of stuff that I bring in. Consignment is 25% in cash or 50% in trade which is not as good as some other spots in town but, like I said, they do tend to buy more of my stuff than other spots in town. The staff here is friendly and I like the donations to charity in lieu of giving bags (that said, bring your own bag to carry your treasures home in!). They also have $1 days that are worth checking out. read more

So many amazing finds!! And some high quality items to be discovered. Staff is nice, efficient, and you can try stuff on in their fitting rooms. My only gripe is that products seem a wee overpriced considering they're up cycled. I love a good resale shop and this place has something for everyone, except kids. It's strictly for the grown and sexy! The clothing is organized well so you can fin the style and size you need. There were surprisingly quite a few employees on the floor offering assistance and being super friendly. A+ on customer service. One thing that stood out were the men who worked there which i thought was cool since there were quite a few men in the store who had already browsed the racks and/or were sitting waiting on their female counterparts. It just felt very comfortable and welcoming to both sexes-not overly "feminine" as many resale shops can be. In fact the mens clothing is easily located at the front of the store which was cool to see cuz their 1-2 racks are usually in the back, lol. So kudos for making the men feel represented. My hubbie actually browsed and he's not a resale kinda guy...or is he?...now. I found some super cute shirts and honestly if we weren't passing thru I would still be there trying stuff on, lol. Just a fun, trendy place to shop. Prices aren't cheap, but not overpriced considering the brands they carry. If you like thrift stores and resale shops you have got to check this place out. This place is always dangerous for my wallet when I visit Nola. Although some of the items are priced a little high compared to other Buffalo Exchanges I've visited, they have a wonderful selection and I've never left empty-handed. As an avid thrifter I rarely will spend more than $20 on an item and frankly get faint thinking of it, however everything I bought on my last trip was in that range but were some pretty awesome finds. One find was a vintage 30's dress in beautiful condition...another was a lovely tropical frock that got me compliments non-stop. I'd give it 5 stars if the prices weren't so high. Fun fun place to hit up randomly because the stock is always changing. I come here often with my two daughters. They like the unique selection of clothing. Its kinda eclectic and hipster so naturally its a beacon to teens. Though its a used clothing store, I have seen many items that still have the new tags on them but the pricing was great. I found a pair of size 13 Vans for $17!! I'm telling you they had to be new!! Its things like that that keep me coming back and not minding so much when the girls are trying on everything. Another Yelper described this store as a high end thrift shop... BINGO! I couldn't of said it better. The staff is nice but one thing that cost them a star... no public restrooms. No bueno when Daddy is taking meds that make him go like a racehorse. So a quick walk to a nearby restaurant is needed. That is the only improvement I wish they could make. read more

Then we came back and found some things and waited in line for ten minutes while the cashier was on the phone. no explanation, nothing. We love thrifting but this experience was a disappointment. Absolutely my new favorite place on the planet. So far I've been there twice, once in search of Mardi Gras costume options, and more recently because I needed a dress to wear to the NOLA Fashion Week wrap party at Eiffel Society, where I knew everyone would (as usual) look infinitely more fabulous than me, times a million. These were tremendously successful shopping trips, on both counts. And I loathe shopping. Mostly because I suck at it. But I'm starting to get the hang of it here. Next time I visit, I'm bringing every article of clothing I don't wear, and then some. Hell, maybe I'll just bring it all. They take clothes whenever they're open for business (as opposed to on certain days of the week like some used book stores I know). While you wait, they'll sort through your unwanted stuff, determine what they can sell and for how much, then give you a store credit for 50% of that total amount and tell you to have fun. Alternatively, if you want cash, I believe the percentage is 30%. Added bonus: they'll go ahead and donate anything they don't want, so with one trip you can offload all your "what-on-earth-was-I-thinking" slash "admit it, you'll never be that size again, or age for that matter" slash "fat clothes" slash otherwise out of style/out of favor articles of clothing. So I love this place. I used to buy, sell and trade at Buffalo Exchange in California, so happy to find one here. This place is perfect for anyone who is into trendy, edgy, or vintage clothing. It's also pretty legit for costumes! The thing I LOVE about Buffalo Exchange is that not only is it totally a place where you kind did hidden treasures, buts also where you can possibly turn your old threads, jewelry, or shoes into STORE CREDIT, or CASH!!! Seriously. Those outdated things you have crowding your closet collecting dust, could be a jewel for someone else. Anyway, I found (the beau actually found the shoes and has required of me to include that in my review) some AMAZING leopard print shoes that I LOVE today for under TWENTY bucks! STEAL! And even got a couple bucks to spare after donating(selling) some old threads. Also, don't take it PERSONAL if they don't want your stuff, it's all about what will sell or what's in season! I also appreciated that they were informative about places you can donate the items they don't want to purchase from you. If you've never been, keep an open mind and check them out. I had to give this buffalo a review. Because even though I like the concept of a funky resale shop(so that's a ) but like 90% of the time I am here the staff is rude. Not to poo poo on the employees because this definitely comes straight from the management on duty. Also sometimes their stuff if priced high for what you are getting.
