I haven't been inside the store in years, and just happened to have extra time to kill so I walked in. I always forget how affordable the story! They have such a great selection of very basic options, and although I didn't plan on purchasing anything, I walked out with a jacket. It is probably my new favorite casual zip up! It did take me a minute to find items here, as they had a model, dressed in clothing that was nowhere near the mannequin. Overall, the store is very open and organized, so not usually an issue to find anything. There were plenty of fitting rooms available, I did not have to wait in line at all. I don't always go to the mall, but when I do I make sure to stop into H&M. While my first thought is it's like everyones fashion, I almost always find myself with unique and quirky pieces and usually on sale. No matter what time of year, there is a lot of stuff on trend that is on sale. This is defiitely a store to go to for your basics. Sweaters, coats, even some staple basics. It's a big store but a sales clerk is always around. They also have a really easy loyalty program that you simply sign up and just log in at check out and it saves you 10% and your receipts for if you return something, just pull up your account and they can bring up your purchases. We have our first H&M in town, folks. Omaha is getting so fancy! I'd chock this place up to be a combination of the Gap and Forever 21 -- fast fashion at moderate prices. While the quality of goods is a tad better than F21, they all most likely originated in a sweat shop nonetheless. And while F21 aims for that teen to 20-something demographic, H&M shares that 20s-40s demo right alongside the Gap. Since I vowed to never shop at either the Gap or F21 again (shabby products that leave me with the sense I'm drinking the same Kool-Aid as everyone else who wants to be young, beautiful and trendy) -- and the fact that JC Penny has awful clothes and everything at Yonkers tends to be geared towards fat old people -- that leaves me with Von Maur (too pricey!), the Flying Worm (too hippy-dippy) and H&M. Well, maybe I need to avoid the mall in the first place. I'm more of a thrift store kind of guy. Anyway, I got a pair of gray pants at H&M for about $30. They're fine. read more

I like clothes at H&M. It's one of many brand stores I buy my husband's and my clothes at. H&M in Tokyo, Japan where I come from, people who work are polite and cheerful especially if they work at retails, restaurants, bars,etc., where they give their service to customers face-to-face. I was very happy that the store finally opened at Westroads in Omaha when I found out about it but their service is below average. But the clerks at the store are unfriendly and unhappy. I asked a clerk (lady) if we can buy a cloth I was holding that's one size bigger. Her response was "I don't know." This is what I said in my mind, "Good bye!" They're supposed to serve customers but clearly she failed. I was sad for how low standards the store is because of one person who decided to care about herself more than she should at work. In a lot of major cities and developed work places, unhappiness or tiredness of employees is kept within them and maybe co-s but not customers/consumers. Other workers look tired. In Tokyo, my hometown, every worker greets, smiles, speaks politely, asks customers who are walking around in the store if they find something they are looking for instead of asking them at the cashier when they are about to check out. I have found some really cute tops for myself here at great price points. They are great for my lifestyle of working at home but yet not wanting to feel like a total slob so they add a little bit of style to my day. I also love their kids selection, but the price points aren't quite as reasonable as what you might find at Old Navy or target. My two main gripes with this place are that first of all I rarely encountered a rack that is the least bit organized. The items are typically not sized and they are so crammed in there that the hangers are overlapping each other making it difficult to pull the items out. Second, the customer service is very hit and miss. On a typical day I will run into very friendly individuals as well as workers that don't seem the least bit interested to be there. If they could get the racks organized and work on more consistent customer service that would definitely deserve an additional star or two. read more

This is a store for the young and budget conscious, a good place to buy trendy clothing that won't be worn often. There were flats for $5.00 and cute dresses for $14.95. To start the customer service is absolutely awful, they dodge you and pretend they dont hear you when you try to ask for help, I've personally never even found anything cute enough to justify thier high prices and to finish it off the dressing rooms the few times i went in were disgusting. I went to H&M yesterday with my 8 year old daughter to buy some clothes. We had just come from Claire's where I bought her some rings. While we were in H &M she hung the bag with the rings somewhere to try on a dress and when it was time to go couldn't find it. I asked a girl that worked there if she could look at the camera which was positioned perfectly in the area that we were at, but she said, "we do not do that!" I asked for the manager and she went into a room and brought out the manager who said, "we cannot to that!" Then the manager and the female employee went back into the office and ignored me and my daughter. I continued to look for my daughter's rings along with her for another 30 mins until finally the girl came out and asked, " you didn't find it yet!" This was the worse store I have ever been in. The management was terrible, the customer service was terrible, and I will never go back to that store again. read more

I love the company H&M for their super fashionable clothes and their ridiculously low prices, but Omaha's one location has some serious improvements to make. Going through check out at this location is absolutely miserable, even if the line is short. I do not understand how it is possible for the employees here to listen to the security paddles making the alarm system go off NON-STOP. This is absolutely ridiculous and there has got to be a pretty simple solution to this problem. While waiting in line I had to endure the constant, loud beeping sound coming from the security tags setting off the alarm. This was not a malfunction in the store's security system, but instead it was a result of the cashiers (all of them) leaving customers' merchandise on the part of the counter that detects the security paddles instead of setting them off to the side or quickly removing the paddles. I was also overcharged for two of four clearance items that I'd purchased, so I had to spend another 10 minutes going back through the line while the security system was still beeping NON-STOP. I understand the purpose of this (so that customers don't accidentally go home with security paddles/exploding ink cartridges still attached to their clothing), but again, I can think of several simple solutions to fix this problem and management is more than welcome to steal any of these unpatented ideas that I've come up with (quickly remove the tags instead of waiting until the customer pays and the clothes are bagged, or move the clothes ten to twelve inches to the side so the alarm system doesn't beep!) No retail store should force their customers to endure a constant loud beeping noise while they wait in line to give you money. An unbelievably poor experience was had today at H&M in Omaha. I love the prices and the styles, but please do something to make the overall store experience more enjoyable instead of miserable. read more
