I told him the brakes were out and to let me know what needed to be fixed. A couple days later I find he completely replaced my brakes and it would be $750. Well I never authorized anyone to do repairs. In my experience I was always called before any work was actually done. I'm without my truck as I refuse to pay for repairs I didn't authorize. He could of called and told me what was needed and if I didn't want the work done I would of paid for the towing. So he has a good running truck even tho it was old. I was looking for an astro van for my son. I located one in Peoria Illinois, 170 miles away from…read moremy home called Dave's Garage. I talked with Dave the owner to ask if the van had any problems. He said the brake lines had been replaced and it had a little rust, also the van pulls to the right so it must have rust on the rotors. I came to an agreement with Dave and sent a deposit for this vehicle to Becca. I sent her an e-mail and told her to make sure that this van has no problems and it is safe for my son to drive it back 170 miles. My son made the trip and gave Becca the bank check and started to drive home when his cell phone rang and Becca said be careful with the brakes. I took a look at this vehicle and took it for a ride. The gear box had leaked all the fluid out and when the brakes are applied the ABS light comes on and it pulls to the right. As I was stepping into the drivers side the floor is all rusted out. I looked at the air cleaner but it did not have a filter. How nice to drive a 170 miles with no air cleaner! AC compressor was grinding. I called Dave's and talked with Becca about these items with the van. Becca called me back and said Dave will look at the brakes if I want to drive it back 170 miles. How safe would that be? I spent a lot of money on this van and still had to put more money and time working on it myself to make it safe for my son. I know there is no warranty and buy as is, but what a joke to tell a lie to sell a vehicle. I would never recommend this place to anyone that is interested in buying a vehicle from there. As I said before buyer BEWARE!!
