It's not a neighborhood that I normally frequent, but Hickey Freeman keeps bringing me back. You can find some good deals on sports coats and suits if you're lucky. I wasn't familiar with the Hickey Freeman brand, before I moved to Rochester. They were big in the 50s & 60s, but they seem to have fallen under the radar in the past few decades after multiple changes in ownership. They have an overall good reputation in the fashion community, with positive feedback in terms of construction quality. I have 3 suits and I'm happy with all 3. They needed very slight tailoring (mostly simple hemming), which added slightly to the cost. But all 3 wool suits are fully canvassed, wool and cost $3-400 each (retail for $1000+). I think if you're lucky, you can find suits for $299. I think they are much higher quality than a similarly priced J Crew Ludlow suit.

I've gotten suits here for under $100 after all markdowns. Hickey suits are stylish but can also be conservative. They are very high quality and are perfect for business. I own seven or eight of their suits a handful are standard staple types and others are a bit more daring colorwise. I do lament the fact that they discontinued the warehouse sales in Rochester where the selection was even better than the factory store. Rochester folks had it very good and were able to score serious bargains.

The owner operator was very nice. They have a large selection of beads, premade jewelry and kits to make at home. I found some of the prices a little high in comparison to what I usually pay for my supplies, but they have beads and closures that are hard to come by. Prior to covid they had classes, which were affordable. Only issue I could see is parking could be complicated due to its location and so many other businesses in the area. I do think it would be nice if they had kits for younger kids to get the next generation into making jewelry.

It's an eclectic collection of clothing, jewelry, bric a brack and etc. The inside is light and bright and staff is really nice. I purchased a scarf and a Christmas ornament. Prices are moderate depending on the item. They do have a sale rack and if you get on their list if you spend a certain amount you get a discount.
