Wonderful experience here! Welcoming and friendly staff from entering. Very professional and helpful. I came in for a walk in as it was a convenient location for me. I'm glad they were able to fit me in their busy schedule today. I noticed the office is very diverse from the business cards they had displayed, they have a lot of bilingual speakers which I think is awesome at this branch. It looked like Spanish, Arabic, Thai maybe. I was able to recieve tax services from Mariam Nashed. She did a great job helping me prepare my tax information. She did a thorough job in making sure everything was correct. I also met with Mattie Moore she was able to provide great teamwork to help Mariam and I. Mariam gave me an organized folder with my tax information on my way out and thanked me for coming in. I was able to also able to meet with the nice manager who introduced herself to me. Jacqueline was so awesome.. there's no doubt about it. I was on a tight schedule, a lot of tax services are irresponsible.. but here I was met with etiquette and great customer service. I waited no less than 5 minutes and she took great care of me. I can tell how much she values the people who walk into H&R Block and how she executes our time was effectively done! She walks you through on everything, leaving no crumbs, allows you to ask questions... makes it so hospitable! Literally walked me out as well, and felt like I was staying at a 5-star hotel. This might be the last time I do my taxes at this location, they charged me $204.50, the last few years it was only about $84-$100 but $200 just doesn't make much sense. So if you're planning on doing your taxes at this location ask how much before they start your paperwork. Update: 03/21/2020 Once again I'm giving this location a one star review. I made an appointment a day ago for 2pm was told that they would be open. I arrive 10 minutes before my appointment and notice that they're closed, so I decide to wait. I waited 15 minutes after 2pm and nobody showed up, not even a courtesy phone call to tell me they were going to be close. I called and only received a machine with menus. This might be the first time I give a location two bad reviews. read more

Newbie kimye or whatever screwed over my bf because he literally had no idea what he was doing, had no damn idea where he literally left half the tax forms, no idea why his tax couldn't be completed and it was because he SCREWED UP!!! I have been coming to this particular H&R Block for 20 years. I've always dealt with Jacqueline Henderson when it comes to getting my taxes done. She takes a personal interest in all of her clients. I do not even know if I should say client, more like family. This year Jacqueline and her assistant Fabian A. Guinazu helped me out this year when I needed it the most. The both worked feverishly with me to get my taxes done. I can honestly say, once they accomplished this task, I had peace of mind and no more worries. We have been getting our taxes done at this branch for the last 3 years and our tax lady, Leonor Marroquin, is the best. We value her expertise and professionalism so much. It is rare to find someone who is not only an extremely knowledgeable tax accountant but also someone so kind and personable. Leonor has all of these wonderful traits and we cannot speak highly enough about her. Tax time is stressful but she makes the process simple and easy. This branch is really clean and freshly painted. The manager, Jackie, is very sweet and took the time to greet us and made sure we were having a good experience. This is the best place to get your taxes done. The Office Manager Jaqueline runs the place with great customer service. They make you feel secure. This is the 3rd year I come to this location since my moving back from Bakersfield. Teresa is very friendly and makes the yearly process easy. She is fluent in English and Spanish. After being a customer for 5 years doing my taxes at h&r block I will NEVER!!!! I MEAN NEVER do my taxes here again. I do my business and personal taxes here. Theresa Questa my tax preparer is absolutely amazing. But this year there was a girl named Mar'tia working the front desk. She was extremely pleasant with everyone that visited the office except me. I went there over a course of 2 days to finish my taxes and spent several hours both days. She had a VERY NASTY ATTITUDE WITH ME. And she kept walking by Theresa's desk making weird comments and Theresa seemed to have no clue what she was talking about. It totally seemed like they were aimed towards me. I mean it was like she had a personal issue with me. I don't know her from a can of paint so, maybe she was just jealous but, she should still know how to conduct herself at work regardless of whatever problems she obviously has with herself. I called the office to complain the lady apologized and said the manager would call. I called again. Was told I'd get a call. No call. So since you guys don't care how a long term customer was being treated and no one cared about my complaint. Buy buy. And I'm taking my parents and 4 siblings with me. read more

I had a very non-standard tax situation this year, and I was somewhat concerned about taking it to what is kind of a high street store, but I've used H&R Block's online software before, and found it to be good. I went into the Hawthorne office to explain my convoluted situation in person and the tax specialist at the Hawthorne office really went out of her way, and put in a lot of extra time and effort to get to the bottom of it.
