I'll start by saying that part of this situation was my responsibility, as I initially missed a required document. However, there were also mistakes made by this location that significantly impacted our return. My husband and I filed our taxes and were charged over $200 in preparation fees. We were expecting to receive a solid refund. The next day, we received a call informing us that a form was missing. I was told I could obtain it directly from the IRS website, which turned out to be incorrect information. After some time and effort, I located the correct form myself and submitted it to my tax preparer. Before sending it over, I specifically asked whether adding this form would affect our refund amount. I was told it would not. Unfortunately, that was not accurate. The correction ended up reducing our refund by approximately $1,300. When I requested a partial refund of the preparation fees due to the misinformation provided on two separate occasions, I was told they could not accommodate the request because they had already applied a small discount for filing the additional form. While I take responsibility for initially missing the document, I believe providing incorrect information -- especially when directly asked about the impact on our return -- reflects poor customer service. After 15 years of using H&R Block in WA, we moved here two years ago and have been super unhappy with the experience. First, they did the return wrong. Then, they supposedly fixed it, but each time I call to speak to the person who did the taxes, "she is in meetings all day and won't have time to return [my] call". I'm only calling to get the revised documents, as mine are out of date due to their fixes after I left the appointment. Imagine if the IRS were doing an audit and I couldn't contact my tax preparer. We'll use Turbo Tax from now on or find another tax preparer. read more

Went here because I simply did not have the energy to do my own taxes this year. Vicky did them wrong and I owed $2000 to the federal government. I noticed a mistake despite having zero professional tax accounting experience. Called in to make an appointment to have my taxes amended. I was originally told that one of my banks gave me a form that was not filled out correctly when in fact, it was H&R Block who did not input into the system correctly. Made it to my appointment. Carolyn didn't know what she was doing and didn't know what she was amending even though I explained my situation to her. Thankfully, Paul was there to explain it to her. I now owe $311 to the federal government not 2K. H&R Block almost cost me 1.7k because of their mistake NOT including the fees for their services. Will not be back and I highly suggest if you had your taxes done by H&R Block you have someone else look at them to make sure everything is correct read more

I came to this location after the tax-season. At the door, there is a sign indicating that this office is open all year around, but the door is locked and the office is closed. Then I called the number on the door and the guy told me that this office is closed during off season months. I tried to make an appointment with other office in Rainbow & Cheyenne and he wouldn't make an appointment unless I give detailed personal information to him. He was extremely rude. I will never do business with H&R Block. They lie about their advertising about upfront pricing too. Good luck to you if you choose them! read more

My husband and I made an appointment and we got there 10 minutes before our scheduled time. When we arrived, we waited for several minutes before anyone came out to acknowledge us. The receptionist Jessica was extremely rude and gave us attitude from the very beginning. She then told us that we needed to wait outside because there were too many people in the office. Since it was cold and windy we decided to wait in the car. We then get a message from Vickie (who was supposed to do our taxes)telling us to reschedule for another time because we were not there. I took off from work to get my taxes done just to be told that I need to reschedule! Not once did Jessica or Vickie apologize for the inconvenience. Needless to say, we will not be doing our taxes here ever again. read more

In 25 years of having my taxes prepared, Brian Wojtowicz has been the best tax professional I've come across. He's a down-to-earth guy who makes understanding your taxes easy. Compared to my last year's taxes, I received almost $3K more and he helped me find another $2500 from last year's tax documents which I will be sending in as an amendment. I've always done my taxes myself online, usually through Taxact, but I owed the last 2 years so I decided to visit this H&R Block to see if they could assist. To my surprise I was greeted immediately and they accepted me as a walk-in without an appointment. Keep in mind this was 2-weeks prior to the tax deadline. I came across the employee Vickie Theis. She was extremely informative and helpful. She was able to get me a substantial amount of money back without me paying the government as stated when using Taxact online. Vickie then reviewed my last years return and was able to amend that and get me an additional return. I would recommend Vickie Theis at H&R Block to anyone. read more
