I had actually checked this agency out years ago when I was dis-satisfied with an agent, but never actually "pulled the trigger" to make the change. I was impressed both times with the office and staff, and this time requested the change. I actually worked with an agent named Sunday rather than Tom Calvin, but that is typical--most insurance work gets done by staff rather than the agency namesake.

Our experience…read morehas been nothing short of a nightmare: Lies & Broken Promises: In 2021, Calvin Logan told us he had filed our taxes, only to call at nearly midnight on April 15th to say he actually hadn't--but that he filed an extension. We spent four months begging for proof of that extension. None ever came. Ignored Calls & Emails: We left dozens of voicemails and sent repeated emails. No replies. One day out of the blue, we received a tax filing by email--no explanation of how it was done, no answers to our questions. When we asked again, silence. Huge Penalty: Desperate and out of options, we signed and paid the huge amount Calvin calculated. In February 2024, the IRS notified us of a $7,222 penalty for late filing--because there was no extension ever filed. Pattern of Deceit: Since then, I've called and emailed Calvin Logan, as well as his partners Jan Thomas and Pauline Davis, over and over. The pattern is always the same: Calvin ignores the first ten attempts to reach him, then lies--claiming he has "written to the IRS" or "taken care of it." Every time I ask for proof or even a simple copy of his correspondence, I get nothing. No proof, no action, no accountability. This firm should be shut down. Calvin Logan should lose his license. No one should ever have to spend years begging their CPA to return a phone call or email. Maybe $7,222 isn't much to them, but it is to us. The financial stress and sleepless nights this has caused are immeasurable. Do not trust Logan Thomas & Johnson with your taxes. They are incompetent at best, dishonest at worst.

I was told our taxes would be done one time. only reason I found out they weren't was a letter from the government about filing for the extension, nothing from the accountant. I also didn't receive my quarterly tax payment vouchers/estimate, which I need as a small business. On 4/24 I asked for an update, no reply. On 5/15 asked for an update, no reply. 5/22 asked for an update, was told they were ready for review. By the second week of June, still hadn't heard anything so I sent them a message that was finding someone else and I got no reply, apology, nothing to say that they were ready, just silence per usual. Found someone else that got everything done in 2 weeks.

This turned out to be a lie. He also had our dog in the system as "previous aggression and/or has bitten somone". This again is a flat out lie, he never even asked if our dog wss aggressive. He also told us that we had free windshield replacement. When he first said this, i thought he meant just rock chip repair, and he doubled down and told us that if we had a crack in our windshield that could not be repaired, they would pay to replace this. This sounded amazing as anyone who lives in colorado knows how bad windshields can get. These were the main lie we caught him in, as well as half a dozen others that we could not prove. We stayed with American National only after they moved us to another Agent. Andrew seems down to earth and friendly, though he is the definition of a scam artist. American National is an amazing company none the less.

I even sent them a voided check so they would get it right! I have never experienced any place unable to do a bank draw like this before. Mikeal Taylor's office staff said the bank draw was the only way I could pay without getting a finance charge as I offered to schedule a routine bill as well. Well, they did not cancel the policy as I requested and unbeknownst to me they turned the lapsed policy amount over to collections. I have excellent credit for a reason and it is not because of dealing with unreasonable people running business like Mikeal Taylor does. I have been doing business with insurance companies for about 40 years now and have never seen anything like this. Yes, I too would give you a zero star rating if google's review system would allow it. You have given your business another black eye and after this situation I question the integrity of Farmers insurance as well. Go find something else to do where you are not ripping people off.
