    I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled…read more I was assessed a late fee despite making a payment on the 1st of the month. At no point was I clearly informed that making a payment before the due date could result in my account being treated as delinquent because of an internal billing cycle or cutoff date. Had this information been communicated, I would have adjusted my payment schedule accordingly. What is particularly troubling is the lack of proactive communication. I did not receive an email, text message, phone call, or any other notification advising me that a payment had been missed. The only indication was a red banner displayed when I happened to log into my account. If Elan is going to impose penalties and late fees, it should be equally diligent in notifying customers when there is an issue with their account before assessing those charges. I was advised that someone would contact me regarding my request to have the late fee waived. Instead, I received an email from Michael informing me that the fee would not be removed. Ironically, while Elan was able to send an email denying my request, no email was sent to alert me that a payment had supposedly been missed or that my account was at risk of being charged a late fee. The issue is not simply the amount of the fee. It is the principle. Customers should not be penalized for circumstances that could have been easily prevented through reasonable communication and transparency. As a result of this experience, I have lost confidence in Elan's business practices and customer service. Once my balance is paid in full, I intend to close my account and take my business elsewhere. I prefer to do business with companies that prioritize transparency, fairness, and customer communication. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed again and that the late fee be removed.
