Update Again: It looks like they pad their reviews whenever…read moreit dips too low. See attached photos and date. All done within an hour of each other on the same day after this review. And 4 from California! I didn't know MO auto insurance covered CA registered vehicles! Kind of makes you think they are fake. Sneaky sneaky. _____________ Updated: After speaking with Tracie on the phone concerning my negative review, she informed me that since the "rates" are my biggest problem, I should be giving the negative review to the corporate AllState and not the individual branch since there is NOTHING they can do to lower costs. That makes sense and I will do that as well. I also recommend that everyone that works in this branch do the same. AllState's "unchangeable rates" are killing your small business and no amount of customer service is going to make up for a +20% price increase for NO REASON. She told me that their branch value is: "Reaching out to review policies." However, what good is a policy review if you can't change anything? If nothing can be done, why have a review? She also told me their value is in customer service. Also good to know. You will get great customer service for terrible rates. She was confused as to why I would leave a negative review after 6 years of service. I am also confused about some things after 6 years. Our cars' value continue to deteriorate, our driving record continue to be flawless, yet the rates continue to climb by double digit percentages. Why does anyone leave something that used to be good? Because it isn't good anymore. A '1-Star' review can mean a variety of things, but it usually means "Don't go here. Don't use them. Find a better option." I still stand by that. So. The "1-Star Review" stays. DON'T GO HERE. If consistently rising rates are your concern, DON'T GO TO THIS AGENCY. As they told me, there is nothing they can do about the rates. So. There is nothing I can do about the review. _______ Original Yelp Review: My wife and I used this agency for our Home and Auto insurance for the last 6 years. In the insurance industry, we understand that rate increases happen all the time. However, a +20% rate increase over the course of 6 months is unacceptable. Their "it is what it is" attitude doesn't necessarily help the sting either. We noticed that over the years, our spotless driving records and on-time-payments only netted us more rate increases. This recent increase was the proverbial 'last straw,' and after AllState told us there is nothing they can do to help lower the rate, we reached out for quotes from competitors. All of them came in substantially lower for the same coverage. Over the years (much to my regret) I convinced 3 of our friends to use this agency. I was such a fan that I didn't even use the "Referral Program" that offers current customers $20 for each new customer. Just wanted to spread the word. I am now spreading the updated word. If you are considering this agency, please know this: 1 - The honeymoon phase wears off in about 2 years. 2 - Your rates will probably be doubled by your 3rd year with them. And that is with a perfect driving record. I shudder to think of their rates if I had a bad driving record. 3 - You will hear some form of "It is what it is" or "Oh, it's happening everywhere" or "We hate rate hikes as much as you." (yet every 6 months, there it is) Personal Experience: Below are 2 email communications. One is from AllState addressing the quotes I received from Competitors. The second response was from the Competitor addressing AllState's questions. 1st email - AllState's response to Competitor's quote: ------------- "Hi John, I appreciate you getting these quotes over to me. Across the board, these do look like a good deal. You would lose the $10,000 death indemnity coverage you have here at Allstate. Do you know if these are firm numbers with all reports ran?" ------------- 2nd email - Competitor' response when I asked about this "extra benefit:" ------------- "Hello John, I have added that coverage to your auto insurance quote. It increased it less than $1. The numbers are firm." ------------- I should mention that AllState told me that the $10,000 death indemnity coverage is not removable from their policies. It's always added. So, asking if the competitor has that coverage, as if it were some AMAZING benefit, is laughable. If they just made it optional, then maybe their rates wouldn't be so insane. AllStates 'concern' that I would lose a policy coverage that only costs an extra $1 shows how little value AllState can really offer you. Especially if that was the only response they had to equal coverage at a MUCH lower cost. It also shows that they are proud to highlight lackluster 'benefits.' We will be moving our policies. From my experience (and shared experiences) I highly recommend anyone reading this to look elsewhere. Current customer or not.

My home was damaged during the recent storm that passed through St. Louis. I had a lovely hole in my roof and water was pouring in. I didn't even know where to begin and, naturally, this happened on a Saturday evening when most businesses are closed. Who does the tarp thing? What do I do about the water damage? My blood pressure skyrocketed. So, I started with the only thing I did know. I know who my agent is. I called. Got their recording. I left a voicemail for Tami and then pushed the button to get their 24 hour hotline. They were so inundated with calls that I was eventually told to call back. BP went up a bit more. And then, miracle of miracles, my agent had checked her voicemail in case there was anyone urgently trying to get help. Bless her. She called me and within about a half hour, the tarp guy was there. The next day the dry-out people were there. I got all of the info I needed to get things going from Tami. Over the next few days, as a few more problems developed, Tami and the marketing rep, Todd James, continued to make sure that everything I needed was being taken care of. Todd took time to meet with me to answer any questions I had about the inspection by the adjuster and encouraged me to call if I had any further questions and he continued to call every couple of days to make sure I was getting the help I needed. I have been impressed with State Farm's responsiveness and very much recommend Tami to anyone shopping around for insurance. You don't need them until you need them and, as in my case, boy did I need them and they responded.

I was definitely not in good hands like their slogan says…read more I have never been treated so badly by an agent and company in my life. The amount of problems I have had is way too long to explain, so I will just explain the main problem. My son and I have been customers of Jeff since 2019. In March of 2021, my son had to get rid of a car because it had too many mechanical issues. My son still had to drive so I called Jeff to cancel the liability policy on the car he got rid of and asked that he be put on a new liability policy to allow him to drive one of my cars. Jeff said it would be too expensive to put my son on a new liability policy on my car and that he could put him on an "umbrella" policy to save me money. I trusted Jeff that he knew what he was talking about and that he had my best interest in mind, so I agreed. I found out just a month ago that my son was never on an "umbrella" policy. Instead of Jeff putting him on an umbrella policy, he just suspended the coverage on the car my son got rid of 4 years ago. My son was driving around uninsured for the last 4 years unbeknownst to us. I have spent hours and hours arguing with Allstate only to be told that I have no proof of Jeff suggesting on the phone to put my son on this umbrella policy. I was paying for a policy for the last 4 years that didn't even cover my son to drive my car. Thank goodness, my son was not involved in an accident for the last 4 years. My case ended up being sent to the escalation department at Allstate. The woman that handled our escalation case, was terrible too. Her rudeness and lack of caring and understanding gave me severe anxiety and I would be in tears every time I spoke to her. As I said before, there is much more to this story but it's way too complicated and confusing to explain. I ended up filing a complaint with the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance. I have been told by the Missouri department of commerce and insurance that they have never seen anything so messed up as this.
