In 2017, she help me open my business. In 2019, she helped me change the name of the business on the CA State level and not on the LA city level, which I didn't realize until years later. I left LA and no longer work in that city. Since the old business name is registered in LA, they requested back city taxes of $1198 in 2024. I paid and contacted Jill to request that she close my old business in the city of LA. She said she did it and charged me for "her work". However, that old business is STILL registered with the city of LA and then are now coming after me again for another $1200. I do not recommend JEM Business Solutions.

She dismissed all my questions by telling me she "doesn't keep that information in her head" and would charge me to look it up ("What's the income limit for a married couple to have a Roth IRA?"), or to go ask a lawyer. That was when she answered my questions at all. Twice, I asked her to estimate our tax bill with plenty of time before taxes were due... she didn't. Then, on April 14 at 7:00 PM, we got a text message to "write a check to the IRS" for almost $20K. I love surprises! Especially when I get to scramble to put a large sum together overnight, that's the peak of life experience! Most of my emails were answered with wonderful jabs at my intelligence without actually providing an answer, creating more emails, more questions and a higher bill. We got a bill for almost $6,000 for that year's tax prep! Super great! More than anything, it seems like these guys turn bitter after cancellations and do shit like this to get "even." I had every intention to pay after getting their bill at the end of October, and emailed them that night for a thorough breakdown instead of their vague explanation in their letter. As usual, the Nia guy never returns emails and instead of getting back to me with a simple explanation - phone call, email, fax, letter, etc., he reported me to a collection agency. That's not how you do business and that's not how you treat loyal customers who can easily refer you family and friends. I am very unhappy with them and wouldn't recommend this particular agency to anyone. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere.
