Well, in a blaze of glorious sparks, he had to pull off to the side of the highway (which is a feat in itself let's be honest). As he gets out of the car to try and see what the actual F is going on he realizes that the vehicle has sprung a leak but unsure as to where it was actually coming from. After a little bit of fenagling he was able to unjam the offending object from under the car to see that it was up close and personal with the transmission and we now have a rather large issue. Luckily, he was able to limp the car to the next exit/gas station and able park it out of the way, but things were only getting worse. Now comes the realization it is after hours on a big holiday eve... and we also forgot to reup on our AAA subscription (my bad I will be getting on that asap). However, after a few phone calls and some google searches, we came across the listing on Yelp for Kaufman Towing with the holy grail of labeling of "open 24hrs". Within 30 minutes of finding the phone number and making the call we have the car parked in our driveway to wait another day to deal with it and the insurance. They were wonderful people, and the wait was microscopic compared to most as well as the price. December 7, 2023 @ 16:00 hrs. These people are more than amazing. While traveling round trip from Pittsburgh to pick up family at the Philadelphia airport, we were on the way back home when we stopped at the Peter J. Camiel Plaza at mile marker 304.80 West to fill up for the run home. We got gas and headed out and about 43 miles later, the Tire Pressure Monitor - right front - lit up and showed that the pressure was low at 27 PSI. Normal setting is 36 PSI. I have run flat tires, and I was not that worried - Yet! We stopped at the next plaza, which was Lawn at mile marker 258.8 West and put air in. There was no visible sign of any puncture. Much to our dismay, as we pulled out of the plaza, the pressure in the tire started to drop rather rapidly. The next exit was at 247 for I - 283, which we took, hoping to get off and find a service station to repair the tire. As we were approaching the toll plaza, we noticed the Geico Safety Patrol truck pulling off the road at the employee's entrance and exit gate. We pulled up next to him and asked for help. He was gracious in his reply and set about helping us as best as he could. Of course, it helped that he was a Penguins as well as a Primanti's sandwich fan, so the banter went well. As we reviewed options to fix the tire, we watched the tire pressure drop to 19 PSI and he did not have any kit to fix or repair the tire. However, he did think we could get to a service station about 3 - 4 miles out in Harrisburg East, if we could get to the Sheetz at the second exit after the toll plaza and fill the tire up with air. Also, after examining the tire, he said he could not see any visible punctures, etc. After pondering it a bit further, he said I have a better idea, made a phone call to a nearby service center and said follow me. He took us to H & S Towing, a turnpike service center, and spoke with Kyle, the Operations Manager, who said he would take care of us and bid farewell. It turns out the tire had been pinched at the rim and the rim sliced about a 1 1/2" cut in the tire under the bead. Kyle put on a new tire and in less than 1 1/2 hours, we were on our way home. Total time we were behind schedule - 2 hours. Thank you, Kyle, you and Austin did a super job to help us get home. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. read more

While driving home from TN to NJ, at around 12:15 AM on the weekend, we had a tire blow out while on the PA turnpike at the Susquehanna river bridge. We immediately called our NJM roadside assistance and they notified the turnpike. Within 5 minutes Dan from the PA turnpike showed up in a truck with large flashers to protect us from being hit by moving vehicles and he stayed with us the whole time. We were told by our roadside assistance company that it would take 1 1/2 hrs to get a tow truck, which after 2 hrs never showed up. Dan from the turnpike offered to call a tow truck company (H & S Towing) and in less than 10 minutes, Frank from H & S Towing showed up. He was very pleasant and at great risk to himself, he changed our tire very fast and put air in the spare tire. Then he had us get off the next exit to do the paperwork because we were in a very dangerous spot. The charge was very reasonable. We are very grateful to Dan from the PA turnpike and to Frank from H & S Towing. They were both great and thanks to them we got home to NJ safely. read more

I have never in my life experienced such CLASSLESS, UNPROFESSIONAL, INHUMANE, PREJUDICED, UNJUSTIFIABLE behavior in my life. To run a business on lies and scamming and degradation of humans is rather appalling. The police are alliance with this company to scam those with emergency events such as being stuck on a highway. Not only did they lie and say they will tow back to our house, they locked up the car, they forcefully tried kicking out without any details, they had the worst customer service, they charge $500 for towing couple miles down the road from highway to their company. They will overcharge, force to keep your car and belittle you. Everyone please save your dignity and money and do not use this place nor get help from the police. All in all, they will have the day they deserve, karma will not let them go. God is watching what is in their hearts and heinous rooted in them. read more

Scott from H & S towing helped my family out early this morning after our engine completely died on Route 15 in Liverpool at 2:30 in the morning. Not only was he there an hour earlier than AAA told us, he saw that our 6 year old was really upset and tried really hard to make him feel comfortable and better about the whole situation. Because we were also 150 miles from home he also made some great recommendations that helped us (and our vehicle) get closer to home rather than farther away, got us to our hotel and did an excellent job loading the car up and dropping it off.
