I came in early to choose my new glasses for my upcoming years exam & glasses prescription. Everyone should come in early to shop for their new glasses. They explain everything and are super patient with your questions. The staff is super kind and I love that they do a breakdown of exactly what your insurance covers and what everything will cost WITHOUT pressure to buy. It took a week for my glasses to be completed. I was in and out to pick them up within ten minutes. They got me right in and adjusted the frames and I was on my way! I'll continue to go here, even though they are located on a completely different side of town.

I've been to this office several times and my recent visit will be my last…read more NOTE: the Retina Scan is zero benefit to patients, as the doctor doesn't even look at it and they will not even share the information with patients unless you pay an extra $30 (per the intake staff) So what's the point, other than to obtain a scan of your retina? The 'map' of your eye is the same as a fingerprint, which is already being used as a form of identification for security. They usher every patient into the retinal scanner like it's part of the exam/appointment. It felt super shady and an invasion of privacy without proper disclosure, that the doctor doesn't even look at them for your appointment, nor do you have the right to look at them without paying them directly (not covered by insurance). I mentioned the reason for my visit was discomfort in my left eye, but he said probably just allergies and that everything was fine!!! The doctor never said a word about the results and gave me a piece of paper saying it was my "prescription" to update my glasses. I didn't look at it until today, but it states that I have a chronic gland dysfunction in both eyes that needs constant care and treatment!! Pretty important information for a patient to know :( Avoid the privacy intrusion, wasting time and money, only to have to get a second opinion at your own expense.

The online access and AI phone system said pending or shipped ... which clearly they hadn't. It took multiple calls to get answer. It took well over 2 months to get my glasses. That was at the start of the year. Now, 4 months later, the plastic covering over one of the arms slid off and is lost. I went in to get another one. After a few minutes, they asked me to come back later. Hello, I can't drive without my glasses. 25 minutes later after 3 staff people looked at them, they handed them back, said they couldn't fix them and maybe I can over the plastic for the arm online. I asked them why they didn't order it for me, since they slid the frame. They said they couldn't and just stared at me.

This location is out of the way for me and I don't have daily childcare, so it's extremely difficult to visit office like this on the fly. What started to push me over the edge was the fact that the Double R location couldn't order the contacts I had tried from them previously with my very first visit with them. For whatever reason they didn't put the contacts that worked great for me on record. So when I went to try to order the contacts I wanted, the double our location so they'd call me back and never called back. Then I called back again when I was feeling less sick and they told me they never promised to call me back and to call the midtown location. At this point, I'm deciding to order from somewhere else. So I called the midtown location for them to email my prescription. The guy on the phone refers me to the portal. I told him there's no login screen on the website to be able to create an account or login to access those forms. He suggests that there's a link to create an account and access the patient portal from my email. I told him I've checked all my emails and there is nothing. I read the contents to him and he doesn't seem to believe me or acknowledge that maybe just MAYBE that access is missing from their website and emails. Condescendingly he tells me I'd be able to print these prescription forms as much as I want from the portal. He eventually agrees to email the prescription. I've gotten that just fine. If I could access the portal I would have never bothered calling. To prove a point, I removed my personal information from the screen shots and I'm showing both the email leading up to the appointment and the one after the appointment. There's no login or account creation link. I'd post a screen recording of the website if I could. I'm not inept with tech. If anything user experience will UI/UX is the bread and butter of my career. It's the fault of the designer if a simple login page cannot be found by the end user. With an employee of a small business, they'd have the means to relay the information that this isn't accessible to their patients unlike a large corporate business. So I would've expected more curiosity considering this would make their job easier. I'm sorry about the book written but all around the aftercare of this whole brand is abysmal. It's hard for reach a human and 3 out of the 5 times I've had to talk to a human has lead to poor treatment. Myself, my husband, and my Dad in Law were patients here. We're definitely not coming back.

She is single handedly ruining your clients experiences. I listened to the other ladies at the front, they were all very nice to everyone and all smiles. Kim left a horrible taste in our mouths and is the reason I personally will not be coming back for my eye exams after the way she treated my boyfriend. He was nervous to come in as he has never had his eyes checked and she spoke to him like her was stupid and kept sighing like he was an idiot. Berated him for being 5 minutes late when we were actually 15 minutes early but no one was there to help him so we left and came back and she acted like we were idiot children (in our 30s by the way). Also, don't make appointments for 8am then not have the door unlocked for 8am appointments that's asinine. If she were my front desk and a clients first impression I would be incredibly embarrassed.

Already had a prescription from previous eye doctor so looked at glasses and chose a few pairs then waited to be helped by an optician. They were pretty busy but have a good amount of staff here to assist everyone without too long a wait time. Calixa, hope I'm spelling her name right, helped me and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the glasses. She offered advice on different frames and upgraded me from the very basics my insurance pays for to her recommendation since I told her I work on a computer most of my work day and wanted a bigger vision area on my glasses. I'm happy with the choices she helped me with and now have one to two weeks to get my new specs! They let me pay half up front and the rest when I get my glasses. Can't wait!!

Wanted to give a shout out to the Costco Optical Dept in Reno. My husband and I had gone thru…read morecheckout during executive hour last Friday. We were passing the optical dept and I mentioned to him I someday will check out the Optometry office for an eye check and he said just go and talk to them and make an appt. I walked in and they said how about right now? WTH? So I did. A little paper work and like 2 min and I was in Dr Winkelmans chair. He is an independent practice housed in this Costco. I see a retina specialist for a condition I have so my exam with him was not super comprehensive as I had just seen my retina doctor. I just needed a new prescription just for reading. The downside is he does not accept medicare or prominence..the pro side is the exam was only $119, and took right around 30 minute to complete. Today I was back in Costco to fill the prescription for glasses. There was no one else there, so I got helped right away by Jesse. He helped me with frames that looked good on me. I am a picky gal that likes designer stuff and I immediately gravitated to Cartier. Yep..they were $399! But..I had a rewards certificate from my costco card that covered almost all the cost. I purchased a couple more frames at less$$ and each one after the first got $ 50 off. Plus, prominence paid $200 towards the whole purchase! I am so happy with this dept!!! Customer service is beyond spectacular(thank you Jesse) and the prices are fantastic. Let me talk just a little more about the spendy Cartier frames. I went online OMG..the model # of the ones I purchased is CT03730 burgundy. In looking online..the same frames elsewhere are $895, $704,$981 etc..Damn I have some expensive taste! Not sure how costco can buy and resell these frames for half or more then online companies! I highly recommend this whole optical dept. You do not need a Costco membership to see the doctor but do to purchase frames and glasses. The savings just paid for the cost of membership plus!!! 1
