HEB Plus in Hutto, TX, is the "BEST OF THE BEST; Everyone is friendly and helpful; it's about the only store I shop in that is actually a pleasure! I have a disability and often need assistance; this is never a problem as the cashiers see that I get help. The Pharmacy is 5-Star with its efficiency and Helpfulness. I love my H-E-B! It is hands down the best grocery store in the area. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful, making every shopping trip a genuinely pleasant experience. I also consistently rely on their pharmacy, which is incredibly efficient and provides top-tier service. The produce section is an absolute mess and the quality isn't there. Bought a 3lb bag of yellow onions only to find mold in the center of the bag when I got home. Their guacamole tastes horrible and every single time I try it again, it tastes like it has a chemical taste and smell to it. They're always out of at least two to three items that I need for meals. Hell, even half and half is a coin toss if they will have it stock. Staff is pretty rude (comes from the top down). Market partner was super unhelpful. Tried to buy corned beef brisket for St Patrick's and they didn't carry enough to meet demand. Happens frequently with stuff on ad not available. I've purchased seafood and they don't place the items in the bag before wrapping it in paper, leading to-nasty fish juice leaking into my car. They never have enough lanes open for check out and half the time I get stuck bagging my own groceries. I've given them enough of my money and enough chances. They turn over managers at that store like every few months and it's an absolutely ridiculous shopping experience. Yesterday was followed around the store by the unit director. I kept dodging her and she kept following. As a former 10 plus year partner, this is unacceptable. I quit that store and now I'm stalked if I go in? This is how you act when someone leaves your store as a former manager and partner? I live close and the store is conveniently located but I'll drive the extra miles just to get better quality products without the attitude. H-E-B is the "RED Wal-Mart" and has gone downhill since Covid. But the fact remains if you want quality and a friendly experience, this store ain't it!!! read more

Pre-pandemic I went to this HEB multiple times a week. Now I do curbside at least once a week. I have to tell you they the curbside experience at this H‑E‑B is always fantastic. There have been a few times that I've forgotten something and am heading over to get my order and they always try to grab it for me. I love my HEB Today there was ample amount of check stands, opened, and people to work them. I cannot say the same thing for all the people crowding the aisles. I'm not quite sure why a party of 12 adults needs to go shopping together and block up an entire aisle. Anyways got through , got what I needed, and got the heck out of Dodge. So not only did i not get the full pound I asked for (.900) , but a portion of that weight was for a foil tray I can't eat. Maybe I can wash and reuse it. Petty I know but it got me to thinking. X I'm normally satisfied with my local HEB BuLast week I ordered my weekly sushi fix. Only to notice when I got home. That the salmon and tuna were so thinly sliced they were translucent. Ran in quickly to pic up some wine. As always HEB has a wide selection of wine and here they had a walk in cooler for beer too. The selection for beer is a bit tilted to IPAs... not my thing... and really no selection of porters, but they did have a good stout. Now that the "bigger" HEB has opened down the street, this HEB has a good amount of people that I don't feel crowded. This HEB is smaller than the HEB Plus stores and now you can be in and out in a jiffy. I remember having to go around just to find parking on the weekends since it gets so packed. I have used the pharmacy here for years. It is convenient when you're under the weather to go through the drive thru to get your meds and go. I like the texting system that HEB has to let me know my prescriptions are ready. The people who work in this pharmacy are cheerful and super friendly. They probably have the best customer service I have experienced in a HEB pharmacy. Thank you guys! read more

I had to come check this place out for myself, because I heard this is the go to grocery place here in Central Texas. So far it was a great visit, they have very interesting deals. For example buy deli meat get the loaf of bread for free. This can be super helpful and useful for many to save money and come up with meals. They have an app where you can clip your coupons or if you wait to go to the store the coupons are right in front of the items. I found this super convenient, but they were a bit blurry so some of the coupons you really had to look at them. The store had a variety of products and options. They had organic to non organic items, and I even noticed they had different priced foods depending on the needs and brands someone needs. I can see myself do my grocery shopping. read more

This store used to be our H‑E‑B but this store has gone downhill. Granted, there is a virus that is causing personnel issues but other H‑E‑B s seemed to have coped much better. I only wish H-E-B had some competition! I went in this morning to grab some basics, that Trader Joe's doesn't carry. I went to the deli counter; there were 3 H-E-B personal behind the counter. Two ladies and one older gentleman. The two ladies kept making faces, cause the older gentleman wasn't moving fast enough. There is clearly no team work at the H-E-B. They could have easily asked the older gentleman to help out. I know I could have missed some issues between the 3 H-E-B employees, however, they could have easily waited and not made faces in front of the public. This is a smaller HEB but still always has everything I need. If I'm not able to go to one of the bigger ones I usually pop in here to get what I need. It's very convenient and very quick. The staff is always friendly no matter if it's 6am or 10pm they've always been good to me. read more

Food shopping, ice cream, coke, hot dogs, oh my! I normally do not do the food shopping, my wife is much better at it than I am. She buys the good stuff, I buy the junk. Since my wife is in Taiwan visiting relatives I was left to food shop for myself. So I waited till later at night to avoid the after work crowd. Seems to have worked no one was in the check out line I selected. So tonight I bought good stuff, Blue Bell ice cream, Coke, hot dogs and buns and slaw and chili go on the dogs. I also bought Orange juice, cran-grape juice and some other junk. Not the veggies my wife buys and makes. I guess everyone has been to a grocery store at some point in their life, if you haven't most like you haven't been born yet! Yep the have everything, food, drink, toilet stuff, hair stuff, chips & dips, wine, milk, meat, veggies, fruit and everything else I can't remember. My favorite thing to do is get in get stuff and get out as quickly as possible. As for parking it depends on when you go and how lucky you are, if you go late or have a lot of luck you may find a close parking spot, never seems to be the case for me anytime. Would I go back? This location used to be an Albertson's but was bought out by H.E.B. when they pulled out of the Austin area market. Prices are cheaper than the other local grocery store, Randall's. In my opinion the management staff profile certain customers. I was inside this today and 2 managers followed me around up to the checkout stand. At which point they stood behind me approximately 25' away to make sure that l didn't run out with the groceries that I was purchasing. At one point I turned around and walked towards them and they both put their heads down and tucked their tails.Unbeknownst to these two Abbot and Costello types, if something jumped off, I would probably help Dum and Dummer out. I have a handicap and upon arrival I parked my 70k vehicle in your handicap zone. If I appeared suspicious to them, we'll the feeling is mutual because I felt uncomfortable with those 2 conspicuous characters watching me. I'll leave y'all with a tip. Whenever someone enters your store and doesn't look like you, don't follow them around looking stupid. Ray Charles can see through you. I just moved to the area and started to use this Heb. I bought the Heb preprepared flank steaks and as I went to prepare them for dinner I noticed that they had expired the day before I purchase them (purchased on 2/11 expired 2/10). I brought them back to Heb & they told me to go get another one and that they would take the expired one to the business center along with the receipt. I did that and they completed the exchange. The most appalling thing was not the expired meat but that nobody came down to apologize including the two employees that were working at the business center. read more

I'm a regular at this neighborhood HEB. it's smaller than others in the area, but never fails to have fresh produce and the selection I'm looking for. The lines move relatively fast and they have 4 SELF-CHECKOUT stations for customers 20 items or less. I have to been to some crazy, hectic HEB's where the lines go well into the aisles (aka Riverside/Pleasant Valley HEB in East Austin), so its nice to have this store available nearby. A couple other things to address.... The pharmacy: Pretty well staffed, my typical wait time for a prescription is 45 minutes to an hour. Parking: There are plenty of places to park. Inventory: Occasionally, they will be out of one of their sale items, but they stay pretty well stocked. Deli: The Deli service is pretty good and the meats and cheeses are fresh and good. The sushi is nothing to shake a fork at (errr... a chopstick), if you want good sushi go about 2-3 miles to the HEB that is on the corner of Greenlawn and Louis Henna - their sushi is REALLY good and always fresh. read more

Since I sung the praises of my HEB in my Randall's review, I thought it would only be proper to give my HEB some love. I would like to start out by saying I am a HUGE HEBophile. In college, I lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area where *gasp* there are no HEBs. Growing up in Temple, I had been spoiled with the fresh food, low prices, and amazing selection. I actually wrote a letter petitioning them to begin opening stores there. I digress. We moved to our house this November from an area where I lived near one of those giant HEBs. I was a bit nervous this Gattis School location wouldn't carry all of my favorite products. Thankfully, they have everything I need. They make sushi, but just in the deli area. They sell organic products, they are just mixed in with all of the items instead of having a whole separate area. They don't have bulk bins, but I didn't use those that much anyway. It turns out, I also enjoy shopping in the smaller store so when I inevitably forget something across the store, I don't have to walk the length of two football fields to get it. Everyone who works here is so nice. I asked the produce manager about this special type of seasonal melon (the Sugar Kiss) and the next time I went he had ordered some. There are always enough check stands open for the crowd that is there. This used to be an Albertson's and no one shopped there. Now it is an HEB and it is always busy. read more

I just moved here from San Francisco. I MUST say that I HAVE to give HEB credits for having my Asian needs at their store! But, OMG!!! It was like finding needles in a hay stack! I went around the store like 5-6 times to find things. The store disorganization (different than I'm used to) wasn't helping either! I almost gave up!! But then, I saw that they sell sushi.. so, they must have the items in the store. I'm glad that I didn't give up on HEB. Although the prices are twice as much, they have them!! This HEB has definitely stepped up their Organic selections, 3 fold! Its easy to get in and out of, much easier than fighting the HEB Greenlawn parking lot, and while that one is my favorite, this one is hands down my #2 HEB! There are still a few things they need to sell that HEB Greenlawn has, in terms of Organics, but they have a wide variety of brands, at the great prices we all love with HEB. Great deli, great bulk selections, great wine selections, and always great customer service. read more

I only come here out of convenience, because 685 location is less something away. This pertains to the Customer Service Department; Accidentally bought the wrong type of razors, so of course I want to switch those babies out for the right ones. Which of course were at a higher price, no biggie because I want those silky smooth legs. As I'm checking out with the girl, she asks for my ID. To which I'm puzzled. I'm spending more money, not trying to get anything back. Gladly I hand her my ID. To which doesn't swipe because a dog chewed on my ID. Then her supervisor makes a HUGE fuss over the fact it won't swipe and they have to key in my driver license information. Heaven forbid you have to actually do some form of manual labor and key in couple digits. The supervisor proceeds to lecture me on she will only do this once as a curiosity. But in the future my ID needs to swipe and I should go to DPS to get a new ID. HOLD the PHONE, your telling me because you're sooooooooooo LAZY to key in a few numbers that I MUST go get a new ID. Women you are bat poop nuts. No pharmacy in this town has told me this or even wasted their time with the fact my ID won't swipe. They key that DL number in and send me on my merry way. So no I will not waste $25 for a new ID for your lazy-self. read more

Very nice and clean. Not as big as HEB plus but still great place for shopping. They have the cool shopping carts for the kids to have fun shopping too. I definitely recommned anyone in the area to shop here just for the convenience. If you are looking for the organics you will need to go to one of HEB plus's in the area. read more

Wasn't even "my" HEB but it is now. I love H-E-B! And when I moved to a new part of town I had three to choose from as my "go To". I settled on a location (over three years ago) other than this Gattis School location until just the other day. The produce is really on point and even though it is not a newer footprint or a 'plus' (and the parking lot suuuuccccckkkksss) the team members inside are really bringing the magic. Every time we hit HEB my children patiently wait for the layover in produce then to sally fourth to the bakery (for a cookie). My home store location change moment was brought to me by the bakery. Most of the time we struggle to find a baker that can stop what they are doing to hook us up and that's ok, i imagine it is difficult to have your office wide open and people voicing their needs and requests at you while trying to get your work done. This day we were merely rolling up and Rose approaches us! Asking if we would like a cookie (she even offered me one; that has never happened) but took it a step further and added a frosting smiley face to the cookie . That was it, Rose from the bakery showed such a sweet simple gesture and I was won. I am thankful for H-E-B, everything they do for the community (the great state is Texas even) and the people their people!!! read more

Great looking "Little" Heb...Compared to some of the monsters they build, you could call this a pantry store, catered to those who live in the area. Its clean, full of friendly employees and have a nice selection. I will say that the fresh meat/seafood counter is large for the size of the store, bigger than some of the main line stores they have.
