Wow! I had been to many H.E.B Plus but not like this one. This location is by far is the hugest grocery store in Texas. It's insanely spacious and its wide aisles make it way less stressful to shop, even when it's busy. They've got a great selection, not just groceries but also a really nice housewares and kitchenware section, which was cool. Pretty much everything I needed was easy to find. The staff were also really friendly and helpful, which always makes a difference. Overall. a really solid store, clean, well stocked, and easy to shop. The only downside is the parking lot, the space wouldn't accommodate too many vehicles if this place was ctowded. Though, still one of my favorites. read more

LOVE HEB. Never had a bad experience but this morning I encounter a unpleasant experience with a young (female) stocker. She was on my path, shelf on one side, boxes on the other side.. I stoped waiting for her to move. She keeps looking at me but no moving. Finally she moved just a little and I said "move" as I was passing. She turn to me and said: "You won't be rude to me" Was wrong with this generation. They feel entitled. They have no manners they have no common sense. read more

The good, the selection on everything is plentiful. Options for everyone and produce looked extremely fresh. I'm not joking when I say that you will find what you're looking for here. The bad, the parking is horrible. I feel like no matter what time you go it's always bad. The amount of people always in there is insane and hard to just get in and out. Don't expect a quick trip here. Then when going to check out the cashier didn't even attempt to help bag anything. Just stood there along with not greeting at all. I can't believe I am about to write this, I have never had such a worst customer service experience. And to have had this happen at a store I so love was heartbreaking. May sound dramatic but I quite literally left in tears. Today I picked up a cake that I put an order in on Sunday 6/22. Looking at the cake I was so disappointed it was not at all what I asked for. I thought about complaining to the person who handed it to me but then decided not to. As I walked away and finished my shopping, I thought no. This is the third time I had been disappointed with a cake at this exact bakery. I didn't want to walk away and pay for another cake I didn't love. So when I was about to check out I went up to a lady that looked like a manager. I told her my issue with the cake and that I was disappointed but also didn't have time to wait for it to be fixed. My 9month old was becoming impatient and I needed to get him home. She said she would get her manager, I waited in line as she was doing so. Andy the manager then approaches me without a hello, how are you or even eye contact. He proceeds to ask me what my problem is, I tell him I'm dissatisfied with the cake and that this isn't the first at this bakery. I hand him my order receipt and then he asked me who crossed the original order out and wrote the new one. I was shocked, this felt very accusatory to me. As if I changed the order to try and scam them out of a cake. Still not looking me in the eye he asked if I spoke to the bakery. I told him no that I was on a time crunch and needed to be out. As I turn around to tend to my son, I then look back to see Andy gone. Right after, the original lady I spoke to comes up to me to let me know that the cake order was taken care of. Which great, thank you. But my problem is no longer with the cake. Neither Andy or the lady apologized to me or anything like that, not even a "have a good day". I was in such disbelief, I was made to feel as if I had done something wrong. Andy was stern with me, never gave eye contact and pretty much accused me of changing the order, or at least that's what it felt like. I have loved HEB my whole life, I speak about this place as if I'm getting paid for it. Andy completely changed that for me. read more

Overall good location for groceries and lunch options. The bulk section is kind of disappointing because they prepackage everything so it's not really convenient if you're just needing a little bit of something. Also, this location doesn't have the organic peanuts to grind into peanut butter. The store is large but a big portion is home goods that are way overpriced as well as clothes and now a jewelry/accessories store. I'd personally rather have more grocery options. read more

If there something I like or dislike about an establishment I'm likely to review it. That being said, I was looking for something ready to eat because me and my wife were starving after being out all day. I walk by the sushi area and saw some containers that looked like ice cream. I went to look and they were soup. There was three different ones but the one that stood out to me was the New England Clam Chowder. It was probably the best I ever had. If you like clam chowder this is it. It's a little over $8.00 but feeds two easily. Good job H-E-B PS still a little hurt about the dog thing but that's ok. read more

My experience with this store has been sadly disappointing. Grocery deliveries arrive late, items are often missing, or produce is delivered rotten. Sometimes mistakes are corrected, sometimes not. However, my experience in this store this evening will be my last. I opened a new brokerage account that had over $15,000 available cash, but these people would not accept my check. I give them thousands of dollars worth of business on a monthly basis, and there has never been a problem with payment. I suppose some employees decided to retaliate for my past complaints. Tacky people, tacky service, and no problem whatsoever with ruining my evening because of management incompetence. I will not shop there again. I much prefer Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Trader Joes. read more

I just went to HEB on 1604 and Bandera today(12/5/20), they have a sign when you enter that says masks are required, but they do nothing to enforce it. Customer in there with no mask on, management informed me there is nothing she could do about it. I will not shop at HEB in the future, I feel if they have the signs up they need to implement the rule because it gives customers especially those with health conditions a false sense of security-when in fact the store did nothing to uphold the San Antonio mandate. read more

If you order curbside don't expect to get your groceries during your pick up time. Apparently that's a suggestion and you can get your groceries whenever you'd like and cause a back up of 50 cars waiting to even park in the curbside spots. So you'll wait an hour and have to waste your time and gas. you're better off going inside or ordering delivery. There needs to be a better system. This is terrible and is not fair to the people who actually show up at their designated pick up time. read more

I've been here before when you absolutely CAN'T find a place to park, so you circle for an hour and a half, yell at other drivers, cry a little, and eventually find a spot out close to Hausman. Then you get your cart and push your way through the front entrance only to realize you can't actually move in the store because it's packed like a can of sardines with frustrated shoppers and crying babies. This is typical, right? But then I went again today. A Wednesday. At 7:30 in the evening. And maybe this is the first time I've actually really seen this store. Guys, guys, it's beautiful. Like, seriously beautiful. THERE IS AN AUNTIE ANNE'S IN THE FRONT OF THE STORE, RIGHT AFTER YOU PAY FOR YOUR GROCERIES BECAUSE HEB RECOGNIZES YOUR STRUGGLE AND THINKS YOU'VE EARNED A HOT, BUTTERY, GOLDEN, SOFT PRETZEL THAT IS GOING TO MELT IN YOUR MOUTH AND DOWN YOUR SHIRT AND YOU DON'T EVEN CARE. Besides, the store is huge. You walk about 10,000 steps just circling the perimeter. You can afford the calories. So why is this location so huge? Well, the produce section alone is enormous. It might as well be a small farm. But this location is a Plus on steroids. You have all your normal fancy HEB marketplace-like sections like the meat department and the bakery. (PRO TIP: Have a cupcake. They're so stinking good!) The dry grocery and frozen food sections are elongated by an apparel section, an electronics section, and a Mia's Mirror Boutique. After walking miles through that, you're met with the far side of the store that houses the pharmacy and all your cleaning supplies and toiletry items. Then you add all the special additions like the SoFlo Pizzeria and the Flaming Bird Café. Even the flower shop is lovely. Who calls anything in a grocery store lovely? Well, I'm about to do it again because THOSE BATHROOMS . . . Can we hold on and talk about the frosted glass panels in the doors? I was actually jealous of the grocery store bathroom for more reasons than I should probably admit but: 1. It looks better than my bathroom at home, and 2. It looks better than me. I know that some of these reasons are still not going to make braving all that traffic in the middle of the day worthwhile, but if you can just hang on and go when there's a Spurs playoff game or, maybe in a decade when there's a Cowboys playoff game, I'm sure you'll find plenty to love! read more

Its one of the busiest h-e-bs in the area. Most of the staff are highschoolers including the managers but they are still friendly and most of the employees are very knowledgeable. Just dont go there on Sundays its the busiest days of the week. read more

Love, love this HEB. I have a few tips, however. The BEST time to go to this HEB is during the week and/or on a Friday late at night. It seems like they re-stock the store on Friday evenings, so you have to compete with stockers for aisle space. It's worth it, though. On the weekends, this place is crazy crowded, but still efficient. I can't wait until the new HEB Plus opens up behind it. read more

Absolutely insane place to try to get in and out of..staff is rude and untrained. Prices reflect the monopoly they have in the area..they are astronomical. I guess I could be partial to H.E.B. because in the small South Texas town I grew up in it really was the only place to shop. Now that I'm all grown up and in a BIG city with options, I still love H.E.B. Although most H.E.B.s are similar, the one located at Bandera & 1604 is exceptional. In all honesty you can find me in there every morning, literally. I go there to pick up fresh produce every day. In my 12 years in the restaurant business I have used just about every produce company out there and I can usually find better right here down the street. If they don't have what I need they will run in the back to see if they have it. I don't know whether to consider it a good thing, but all the managers even know me by name. Don't forget to stop by checkout express lane 1 and say Hi to Ginny, she's there every morning and has been with the company for about as long as I've been alive. Most importantly H.E.B is a San Antonio based company, who works for its community. I love MY H-E-B. read more

What can I say? I love HEB. Their produce is always fresh and their prices are hard to beat. The only thing I don't like is the droves of people who are always there. Love this store. I try to get there before noon or it's packed. Usually half of the registers are open; almost all are open after 4pm. The pharmacy is an absolute circus they really need new employees the old ones there are ridiculous. They think they know it all and boy do they have a mouth on them. Whether it drive through or walk up you get the same attitude. Once the manager come up which is Gabriel they act like they have done nothing wrong. I have been given the wrong prescription several times and all I get is an I'm sorry really I'm allergic to so many different meds I should be dead by now. This really needs to change ASAP before they do kill someone. And they don't know how to read script today I call my dr raise the script to 6 as needed the girl tell me 9 a day how can I take 9 with a 75 pill for 1 month really. Then she gives me a prescription that I have had fill 4 times this month explain that one to me. When people start dropping like flies everyone know to go to HEB pharmacy. Please get rid of your old employees and get some that know what there doing. There is a lot of senior citizens that go there as myself but I will let everyone know what's going on here is this does not get fix.
