Still my favorite grab-and-go HEB with self check out and service lines. They have a person at the self-checkout to help you with any issues and sometimes if they aren't busy, they will even help you bag your groceries when you are on the two self-checkout conveyor belts. Note that they have a limited amount of selection compared to larger locations and may not have specialty produce or products. However, it's great for your basic needs and easy to get in and out quickly and efficiently. They recently changed some of their layout so there's not as much produce displays as before in the central area. Parking is also sloped so watch out for runaway carts! read more

This is the perfect HEB. Small, good parking, accessible, right off the highway, and a great selection. They also have a good mix of Hill country, fair and central market brands so they pack quite a lot into this little bitty store. We came here specifically for brisket queso! Found a whole bunch of other stuff that we loved as well. Nice people also read more

Normally, I'd say this is a decent and convenient stop. I ended up having around $15 in coupons, the cashier forgot to apply them, even after I let him know where they were. I didn't realize til I was about 10 ft away, turned back and he and his buddy were chuckling, and when I went back up to them, they were like "yeah, we just saw them on the counter". Didn't make any pretense at having tried to get my attention. I asked for a manager, since there wasn't anyone at the service desk. I had to wait until the checker got about half way through with his next customer to ask if he would call - because I suppose I was expected to wait for a manager to just walk over to the registers? He didn't turn on a help light or anything, so then he tries to call over the intercom for "Fernando to come to register 6". About 3 or 4 min later, up saunters Fernando, looking way too chill. Fernando and another cashier asked me to go to a different register to give me a cash refund for the coupons. Then Fernando tells me that I only have 3 items that are considered "Health and Beauty" for the 25% discount. I literally had to argue with him about the additional 3 items, which he said were not "Health and Beauty". It was awkward and he kept speaking to me as if I was the one who could not comprehend things, so I told him that I would show him, but he had bo interest in sauntering over to the pharmacy area, and so he sighed heavily to show me how annoyed he was with me. Then he decides to add up the items ans continues to mansplain to me that he added up the items on his phone, showing me a total, and that now he was going to multiply that by 25% to get the correct amount... I didn't appreciate Fernando's tone, demeanor, or how he made me feel like this was all my fault. Mind you, I stated twice, once at the beginning of the exchange and then later when I was arguing about what was and what was not on sale, that he should just refund and re-ring the whole bill, to make sure the coupons were totaled correctly for both me and HEB. I will not be coming to this HEB anytime soon. read more

The lady at the bakery was one of the worst customer service I've had, who was unwilling to help me with a custom cake and made every kind of excuse not to make me a cake . First the printer doesn't work to print a picture on cake then I showed her the 2nd idea and said she it's copy right issue then I told her to just do something simple and said she don't have a decorator. read more

Hands down, this is one of my favorite H-E-B's to shop at! The store is clean, organized, and the partners are so polite and professional! We have been shopping at the store for the past 20 years. During the past year, we've had to return different types of meat due to spoil it. And the past three weeks, we've returned five packages of Jenny oh ground turkey with the expiration date 10 days out: as well as four packages of lamb chops with the expiration also 10 days out. Today we are going to return Lamb purchased on June 7 and stored in the freezer, used by date June 16. We opened it up to cook today and it reeks. It has been refrigerated and or frozen this entire time. We have spoken to the manager of that store several times about why they're not keeping their meat at a colder temperature. Each time they apologize and tell us to return the meat. We will do this, but from now on, we are not purchasing any more meat at the grocery store. We have made a complaint to the manager of the Brookhollow HEB, we have made a complaint in person to the lady who runs the meat department at that H-E-B and we have made a note by phone to H-E-B Headquarters. No wonder we haven't been feeling well. I say we haven't been feeling well because sometimes we take the meat right from the freezer and put it in the crockpot. Maybe that's not a good idea if the meat is spoiled to begin with. Apparently cooking meat at high temperatures for long periods of time doesn't kill all bacteria. Why are they selling us stuff that hasn't been properly stored? Shame on HEB. read more

I like small grocery stores, its one of the things I miss most about living in Japan, but the smaller stores around here normally look pretty seedy or don't have the freshest options and sometimes I don't want to walk three miles through a Walmart (which I tend to avoid since their produce game is pretty weak) or 90% of the HEBs in my area when I just need to grab that missing ingredient for whatever meal I'm planning on prepping. This particular HEB is perfecttt. Right down the street from my office, I've run in during my lunch break, after my shift has ended, on random weekends when I just happened to be in the area- never crowded. Shopping that would take me an hour/hour and a half to navigate through your average HEB, I can knock out in 20-30 minutes. Selection isn't huge, but they've got 90% of what I need on any given day. Clerks are pleasant, everything is always well stocked, and I love the coupons scattered down every aisle. read more

WORST HEB location! Constantly seems dirty: the floors, the outdated interior, the bad lighting. More than that though is the fact that this location doesn't keep to the weekly advertisement- the claim is that they're a "smaller, specialty" (their word, not mine!) location, so they "can't possibly stock it all!" Uh, if it's important enough to advertise it's important enough to stock, and they rarely advertise something truly obscure in the city-wide ad. Customer service is slightly lacking here, too, as you may see by the quoted statements I received from staff when I simply went in to the location by my gym to get an advertised couple of items- none of which they had! read more

Great store the employees are super nice The only bad thing I guess is they don't have Apple Pay but they have the Samsung pay...? H-E-B - Grocery Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

I call this my "quick HEB". Whenever I need to run in & run out I come to this HEB. It typically has all the necessities that I need on a weekly basis & it's not as large as the other HEBs so I'm not lost looking for stuff. Although, some of the more specialty items that I love HEB for are not available at this particular HEB. It's not a big deal for me though because like I said it's my "quick HEB". All the employees I have encountered here have been really great too! It's nice when they actually have conversations with you about your day. It really makes a difference with the level of customer service. The employees are also really knowledgeable about where stuff is located in the store too! No negative experiences so far with this HEB & I hope to keep it that way! read more

Great little neighborhood HEB. If you are trying to get in get out this seems like the best place to do that in the area. Off of the Brook Hollow exit people only using that ramp is people living in the surrounding area. Not as large as others in town but, it has all the necessities. After shopping at other nearby HEBs, this little store feels almost like stepping into a convenience store. Despite its size, there is a good selection of most items. Produce freshness is hit or miss and there are a few organic items like apples, carrots, and celery. There is no manned butcher counter; all of the meats are only available prepackaged. If you need help, there is a call button, but they are not staffed during all store hours. The deli has a good selection of Boar's Head brand meats and cheeses, but the staff is incredibly slow. If even one person is ahead of me, I will just skip the deli- I once spent over 15 minutes waiting, even when I could see they had additional help in the back. The bakery has basic rolls, donuts, and cakes- nothing great, but if you are in a pinch, they serve their purpose. One highlight- the sour cream donuts are especially tasty. Dry goods selections are limited, but in general you can find most things you need. Most of the organic products are Central Market branded; brands like Muir Glen and Organic Valley are not available. Service is uneven; they have some great people working in the pharmacy and in the checkout lanes, but I have found the management to be subpar. I had an occasion when HEB branded gift cards were not working and the manager expressed little concern, instructing me to complain at the corporate offices. Even if he could not assist me, his apathy was infuriating and I will no longer be purchasing gift cards from HEB due to this experience. For a neighborhood store, it is a good option to run in for a few things, but I will continue to do the bulk of my shopping elsewhere. read more

This HEB isn't your super big HEB store. It's your neighborhood sized store, which means, you don't have to hike all the way to the back to get what you need. This is what I really like about this one. The other HEBs and the HEB Superstore are just too big, parking lot, and internally. They have too many handicap spots in the front and you end up hiking to the front door. This store is big enough to not have to break a sweat. It's also conveniently located in a small shopping strip, but that's for another review. There is ample parking, and the parking lot is accessible from either BrookHollow or from the 281N access road. The parking lot coming in from BrookHollow though slopes up. Be careful of vehicles that like to cut through the parking lot. HEB staff in general are usually smiling all the time and are pretty helpful. If you need something, just find an employee in a red shirt. That's all they wear is red polo shirts. HEB always runs a lot of promotions on the end caps. Buy these 3+ items, grab they yellow coupon and get a free something else. The yellow coupons that hang off the shelf entice you to buy more than what you came in for. Clever marketing... Prices are reasonable. The store sells fresh everything. From a dozen roses to produce. It's not farmer's market fresh, but it hasn't been sitting around for a week. You can probably find everything you need here for a meal, including 50lb bags of salt for your water softener. read more

This location was recently remodeled, so it is very clean and modern. Their bathroom looks nicer than some of the hotels I recently stayed. They have all the items I needed, including good wine selection, including TX Wines. I don't think they have many craft beer selections though. The only thing that bothers me it that almost every time I go, there are more "15 items or less" lanes open than the full service lanes. And I always get around 20 items, yeah, sometimes the manager told me to go to the 15 items or less lane, which is mostly empty. But if no one tells me to, then I'm obligated to go to the full service lane. That is kind annoying. read more

I love this HEB. It's never packed, has cheaper prices on some items. Not as wide of a variety, but defiantly is a one stop shop for your basic heb needs. Very friendly staff and always clean! This is a solid HEB! It is a little smaller than most, but that doesn't bother me at all. I can get what I need quicker and be on my way. They usually have good sales and specials throughout the store, and the lines don't seem to get too crazy like other stores. read more

This little HEB tucked away seems to be a hidden gem. Yes the isles little small but the people are friendly it's well-stocked and every once in a while you find a nice little surprise. There's always specials in the meat department, always specials in the beer and wine department. On that note the craft beer selection in the small wine and beer department seems to be growing. I can always find something that I'm not only would have if there was nothing else is something that I would seek out that this H-E-B. The beer buyer here seems to really be in the know when it comes to craft beer and what people want. read more

On September 19th, around 12pm my stepmother and I made a quick trip to HEB located at 15000 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio, TX 78232 to get a couple things. My step mother who is in her late 80's and I came into store and split ways to get the things we both wanted and meet at the front when we were done shopping. I have never been in the store because I live in Ca, so i wandered around looking for the things to purchase at your store I wanted. When I was done, I went to the counter and paid for my stuff in cash at the register closest to the exit to a young man. I purchased a halloween reusable HEB bag, and the items were placed in the bag i bought. At that time, i did not see my step mother so i turned back toward the store and walked the front area looking down the isles for her, stopping once to check a Cars magazine that caught my eye for my son who loves cars. I had already paid so i just left it and continued to look for my Stepmother Deena. When I get back to the other side of the store where we came in, I see her by the enter/exit door as she had just finished checking out. I said I was ready if she was. We go to walk out of the store, she is pushing her cart and I am walking about 3 feet behind her carrying my purse and shopping bag. As I get by the door a large man named Eddie who was pretending to look at a HEB ads that were by the door , he got between us, put his arms out to the sides of him blocking me so I can't leave and says very loudly "STOP I have been up front the whole time and you did not check out". I was in pure shock and thought it was a joke. A female worker came over to observe who was clearly in on this false accusation as well. I said " are you serious? i definitely paid this cashier right here just a minute ago, ask him " The two of them continued to say they needed to see a receipt, that they did not see me pay upfront. Meanwhile the person I paid is 10 feet away, and they do not make contact with him just continue to harass me. I am now digging in my purse saying " so your accusing me of stealing? are you kidding me" They try to say no, BUT they are accusing me of stealing!!!! I find my receipt in my wallet next to the change from my purchase and pull it out , show them and they get real quiet. Try to say sometimes they do random searches which is BS. This was not a random search. This was profiling me, and falsely accusing me of stealing and handled completely inappropriate. I leave shaking and so upset that just happened, and walk to the car to tell my step mother who doesn't even know where I was because he blocked me from leaving. We both decide to go talk a manager. We walk in and the two who were accusing me, along with 2-3 other employees were standing in a circle talking. I walk straight up and tell them i want to talk to a manager. All the employees quickly scattered. Sonia came over, she had no clue about anything that had happened. So i filled her in the best I could but was so terribly upset and shaken up at the time, it was not easy to explain. So, this is what really happened. I am very heavily tattooed, so someone in your store couldn't take there eyes off of me. Assumed I filled up a reusable bag and was walking out because during there short time of wanting to watch me they didn't see me pay the cashier. Your employee Eddie who was a large intimidating guy seemed to be told (which i believe now was by the lady who came over shortly after he stopped me from leaving ) to stand by the door and look at the HEB ads that sit right there at the door and "get me" if I didn't go to the register and pay before walking out. This is completely out of line, extremely embarrassing, illegal, has ruined my short trip to San Antonio to see my father who is 91, and I never get to see him. I am very, very upset along with my family who regularly shop at your stores. In fact, my step brother has worked for your company for 15 years now. Now half of my stay in San Antonio has been consumed with anxiety, sadness, and being so upset all because I went into HEB as a customer and spent money of things I needed for my stay in Texas and your employee did not follow proper steps or have the knowledge of how to handle a situation, he just assumed would be true. I don't steal, i have plenty of money to buy everything i want and a 2 year old waiting at home for me that i also want to come home to. read more

This is a great H-E-B to pick up items you buy on a regular basis. However,they have a very very limited selection of make up toys seasonal items, and deli made things like the pre cooked meals that HEB sells in the produce/ deli area. The pharmacy people are so wonderful and willingly to do what they can to answer questions. I took several produce items back to the customer service area for a refund and the girl was making faces as I took the items out of my bag- very rude the worst experience I've had there. read more

I usually LOVE this H-E-B! Tonight the cashier was rude and I had to bag my own groceries. Some of which were crushed due the recklessness of the cashier! I love this store! They do close earlier than others, but the shopping experience is always so enjoyable. Even during peak hours, you can still get to what you need, and I swear to you, almost every single person says, "Excuse me." The cashiers have always been friendly as well. They do not always have everything I'm looking for because it is a smaller store but they have 98% of it. This is my favorite H-E-B out of all the ones I've been to. read more

HEB is a great store with lots of options. This is a smaller location, but still has everything we need.

The Brookhollow HEB is the place to stop for necessities, owing to its smaller size and easy access from 281. You know the commercials about "my HEB"? Well this is mine, and they have all the regular food items a San Antonian needs. I've been a regular shopper here for 25 years, even though bigger stores are closer; the size is just right for quickly going down your list, getting your goods, and hitting the road. read more

I really dislike this location. It seems extremly cramped in aisle width and ceiling height. Even if it's clean, which is an assumption, it feels like everything is dirty. I cannot accurately put into words how just plain,um, awkward, this store is. Even the parking lot sucks. The exit onto Brook Hollow is so steep in grade that all the groceries spill out of the bags. I go a few miles up San Pedro/281 to the location at 1604 instead. read more

After trying the heb in Thousand Oaks and the one further down 281 this I the best one! Specialty items can be found and most importantly the meat is kept well stocked and rotated. There are reduced price for quick sale here often to keep a fresh flow in the store. Fabulous!!!!! read more

I went to pick up a prescription and it was too early to fill, which is fine except instead of telling me they said it would be ready in 20 min. So I waited 20... 30... 40 min and it wasn't until I went up and asked about it that they told me it was too early to fill (by this point I already ran over on my lunch hour by 10 min). So, I let the pharmacy technician (the same lady who made me wait 40 min before letting me know I couldn't fill it) that there is a CVS and Walmart closer to my work and can I get my prescription back so I can drop it off at one of those locations. She then told me it's easier to transfer and to just call them when I know what location I want to transfer it to. I decided on Walmart, call them back and ask them to transfer, THEN i'm told "no, the other pharmacy is supposed to call." I said I don't have their number and even if I did, I was told to call HEB and I just got done waiting around in your store for 40 min. They said they would call Walmart and have it transferred. When I had a couple minutes, I looked up the Walmart number, and called to verify they received it and to ask what date can I pick it up. Guess what, they didn't have it. At this point i'm like look, I wasted 40 min on a prescription I can't fill until next week and another 15 min playing phone tag trying to figure out exactly when I can pick it up and to verify it will be ready when I come in because I don't want to waste another lunch hour on this. I was already annoyed that HEB didn't tell me right off that I couldn't fill it, but then to tell me it's easier to transfer WHEN CLEARLY IT ISN'T!!! Really annoyed me. Anyways, maybe customer service is NOT this HEB's strong suit. Walmart on the other hand was very helpful and I plan on using them to fill my prescriptions moving forward. read more
