This salon is a GEM! I was instantly greeted by the nicest receptionist who made really nice conversation throughout the entire experience. I had Megan as my hair stylist. She walked me through hair cuts that would fit my face shape and talked with me about the hair color that I wanted. I wanted to go brunette, with a lived-in look that has dimension. I had previously had very blonde ends, very similar to an ombré because of how blonde it was, and was so sick of it. At some point after making the decision for color and cut, she shared with me that she specializes in blonde. Even with that being her specialty she respected my wish to go brunette. My previous hair stylist loved how blond my hair could take and despite how often I told them I wanted less blonde, it always ended up more blonde than I liked. Once Megan told me that she specialized in blonde, I liked her even more, because she listened to MY wants - not with something that SHE wanted. And boy did she deliver! At some point I shared that I had considered going red. She advised me against this solely from the upkeep and my desire for low maintenance hair. Again, I appreciated this greatly, because this shows how much she listens to the customer, while also providing her professional expertise. I am so, so impressed by her! The salon was beautiful and the staff all interacted like they were good friends and family. The overall price was much more affordable than I expected, based off my previous salon. H. I was double charged for my haircut by mistake but was very cordial and understood things happen. I kept asking for asymmetrical haircut and was told she was getting there. Haircut stopped all of a sudden and she said she was done. I wondered why it didn't look asymmetrical. The next morning I saw the haircut after sleeping and this is what it looked like. I paid about $100 with tip and all. No one offered anything to make it right and I am still waiting on refund of my money for overcharge. I think what happened was this is a hair texture job gone bad and no one wants to own up to it. I would state the stylist's name but I sm not that cruel. My experience with H Mack Salon started out not so great before I even went in for my appointment. I scheduled appointments for myself and for my 8 year old daughter with different start times intentionally so I could get her started with her cut before mine needed to start so my stylist wouldn't need to wait for me to talk with her stylist. I notated on the online scheduling form that the earlier appointment was for my daughter so it would be clear that I hadn't accidentally scheduled 2 different appointments. They called me on Friday at 3 pm to ask me about it, but I was swamped at work and didn't answer the call, when I called them back on the morning of the appointment (Saturday) they told me that they moved my appt to a different time, I explained that I scheduled the way I did intentionally, and was told that my stylist had another client coming at 2pm so they couldn't move me to the 1:30 time I originally scheduled for myself. It was at this point that I found out they also moved me to a totally different stylist who isn't even listed as a stylist on the website (because she's an associate and from her IG is only about 6 months out of school) since we were now within the 24 hours cancellation window and I was going to be charged either way, I kept the appointment. I have wavy/curly, fine hair, but A LOT of it and I spent days researching to find someone that I felt would be able to give me the cut I wanted without leaving my hair looking horrible. I booked with Carlos, who is listed on the website as being a level 4 stylist with over 20 years of experience and was switched to someone with a year of experience including her time in school. I showed her what I wanted, she didn't seem confident in the cut, but started cutting anyway and seemed irritated that she didn't have a full hour for my appointment like she normally has and had to push her next client back 30 minutes. She should have said she didn't think she could give me the look I wanted, that is the only thing I can fault her for, she did the best she could given the circumstance and ended up getting Cat (I think) to help her and Cat ended up doing the majority of the cut. My hair came out ok, but before Cat started helping I was worried that it wouldn't get to a point where I thought it was ok. During the cut, Carlos was doing someone else's hair next to me and she thanked him for getting her in on such short notice and he said they had to finagle some stuff to make it happen, kind of sucks that it would seem my cut getting moved to a less experienced stylist was the finagling so she could get her hair braided and put in an 80's style faux hawk. Pearl cut my daughter's hair, she has only ever had her hair cut by myself and a friend of mine who does hair. My daughter was asking to come back for Pearl to cut her hair again before we even left the salon, she was great and my daughter said she helped keep her from getting anxious because she talked to her the whole time. If I were only rating Pearl, I would be giving 5 stars. I'll probably come back for my daughter but since I can't be confident that I would be able to get my hair cut by someone that can work with curls, it's unlikely that I'll go back for myself. read more

I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. I've been a stay at home mom for the last 9 years, and during that time, I would trim my own hair, and dye it myself with box color ( I know). Mack, and the super easy to use and convenient online booking sold me. They even have a short survey on their website that' you can take and it will match you with a stylist. I booked with one of the stylist I matched with, and had an amazing experience. Camilla was awesome, super laid back and super experienced. She explained every part of the process, and helped me sift through my ideas to figure out what would work best. I showed her one picture, and she was able reproduce it perfectly. I have been going to h Mack and company for 5 years now. I have seen three stylists through the years. I've seen Angelina, Alexis, and Carlos. All different level stylists all have cut my hair short and dyed my hair. I stopped in on Saturday as I have a busy schedule. I saw KAYLEIGH as my stylist that day. I asked for a French bob. Showed photos of what it looks like. I told her hey i have really thin hair." I can keep it long if it won't look OK." She said she could do it. So I went for it. She cut curtain bangs when I asked not to have curtain bangs, and then she just hacked away at my hair. It was so bad I cried in my car. I told her something was off, and it looked off. Then she told me if she fixed it, it would be ruined. She curled my hair and took photos to try and blend it and show me, then I took a shower to see the full results . It was awful. I wanted a blunt all one length cut. I said I was fine with a few layers if she wanted. Not to have a supercuts haircut for the price of a salon haircut. read more

Tried this salon for the first time yesterday. I asked just for a trim to clean up the dead ends- no layers or dramatic cut or anything like that. Really simple. I did not receive a wash with my haircut and rather she just spritzed it with a water bottle. Got home and realized my hair was lopsided and uneven. The right side was noticeably longer. I got a text asking me to rate my experience. Rather than write a bad review, I sent an email to the address on the website and included a photo of my haircut. They were quick to respond and get me back in today to correct it. I went in today with high hopes, but after having three stylists work on "fixing it" it might actually look worse--and there's definitely way more length that has now been cut off than ever should have been taken off for a trim. I'm mortified and now will have to pay another salon for a whole new haircut to get it fixed by a true professional. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. read more

I love this Salon! I have been going here for about a year and have come out with beautiful hair each time. Every client I have seen there has left thrilled with her hair. My usual stylist, Gabriela is awesome, but she is out on maternity leave so Iran did my hair. It came out fantastic! These ladies really know how to balayage. I had my first appointment with Candace this past Friday and she did a beautiful job with my cut and highlight! I came in with a not so awesome cut/color job from a couple months prior. I am a little on the picky side since I've experienced top notch hairdressers in the past, but I'm also not one to get overly upset if hair doesn't come out perfectly every time. Things happen. Hair can usually be fixed. I asked for her professional opinion on the best way to get the results I was looking for, and she made me feel very confident. She didn't bad mouth the previous stylist, but she understood the issues and why I was in her chair. She took the time to blend all of the high and low lights to look more natural and also blended my blunt layers. This is definitely one of the best color/cuts I've had in a long time. I left the salon feeling so good, I took some sassy selfies for this review. If you're looking for a sweet, professional and talented stylist, go see Candace. She's great!! Can a business gaslight a customer? After my experience here, I say heck yes they can! I am very disappointed in the hair service and customer service at this salon. I paid for a balayage and haircut and then Katlyn over did it with the bleach. I had natural hair color going in and asked for the lightening to start mid down. I now look like I was lightened everywhere (and this isn't what we agreed upon). I brought this up, and I was taken to take pictures to prove me wrong. When I still didn't see balayage, I was then told it's cuz she had to run toner all over my head. My opinion was....Essentially ignored, flipped back on me The manager was supposed to contact me after 24hrs and didn't. I had to write a message again to get called. There was no apology or concern, not even when I bring up the burning on my scalp that has lasted days. They wouldn't comment on the pictures their own stylist took in the salon. How could that be? Were they not legit enough to make any comment lol Here I keep saying, did she deliver the agreed look? Cuz this in fact is a business exchange: money for goods/services! I was told to come in. I said, "no point, I don't want more dye in my hair!" They said..."we never said dye your hair" I said "why come in then? To confirm the issue and get a refund?" They say, "to find a solution." I say, "is there a solution that doesn't involve dying my hair?" No response... There was no ownership over a mistake made. Such an easy little thing. They proclaim customer service, but the basic outline is: 1) thank the customer for their feedback, 2)sincerely apologize, 3) listen 4) ask them what you can do to make it better 5) let client know it's okay they are unhappy 6) give them a peace offering I just got an invitation from the receptionist to come back in to "find the solution" which is like insulting when your head is buring still and you would not put more color on the hair. Then I got blocked by them on Instagram I pondered the blocking cuz that felt extreme, but I figure they didn't like when I offered to come in and have them "style my hair and post it" on their feed to prove it was balayage. There response? They told me my hair wasn't in their "aesthetic." touche, you did a crap job (it's not in my aesthetic either!) Imagine this: The salon who takes the picture of every customers hair and posts it with pride on their socials is the salon that is nailing the customer service! Because they love their customers and want the world to see all of it! And also, then you would know that every customer loved loved loved the hair right away! And if not, you would have to fix it! Sooooo easy and build a whole hair journey for each client! Learn + grow together! I now am going to go get my fried ends cut off at a salon twice as expensive, two times the distance away, but who cares? It is bananas that they couldn't apologize, or comment on their own pictures. Well I have short hair!! I went to get blonde with very few dark highlight and showed her a pic of what I wanted done. Took 4 hours to do my hair and she burnt it with so much bleach and cut it so short I barely have bangs. On top of this. It's been a week today and the owner was supposed to call me multiple Times and has yet to do so. I spent $305 for this and another 168 at ulta to make it a bit less burnt looking. The original stylist I had booked with called in sick so I ended up with a newer stylist. I sat in the chair way in the back and she complained that the lighting was really bad so she consulted with another stylist to match my color (I went in for a root touch-up). At this point, I was losing confidence in my stylist's ability but went along anyway. At the end of the appointment, the color turned out almost red, not brown, and she told me it's because my hair was still wet and the lighting was bad. She barely trimmed my hair when I had asked for 3 inches off. She was really nice but when I got home, the color wasn't at all what it was supposed to be. Very unhappy that I wasted $175. I called ahead and described exactly what my hair is what I need done. I asked for a balayage to lighten my color of which I have received a proper balayage in the past and even showed pictures to the color artist of what I was envisioning and of myself from past balayage experiences. After 6 hours, the results were so minimal, I was upset that my time was not only wasted but I was mislead by the color artist saying that she was capable of achieving the goals for the hair. She should have been upfront if she didn't want to "lift the hair color too much" and was intimidated. The color artist fell very short of the expectations that were set in the beginning and I would have been happier to know that the girl didn't WANT to lighten my hair too much from the get go.. to reset expectations and gave me the opportunity to leave but she went ahead and wasted time and money that I won't get back. I proceeded to call the manager and received the most unprofessional and lack of customer service response possible providing every excuse to not improve the situation. She didn't offer any understanding and support or empathy for me as the customer. No partial refunds were considered or even offers to come back to fix. She stood by her practice and what her stylist had done to my hair. She didn't see a single thing wrong with the blotchy job for the 'money piece' , the lack of blending, and over all job. As a manager you should always want the best for your customers especially when they call you and they are highly upset and are crying because of their frustration. I didn't want to get the stylist in trouble because she was super nice and I am just a really nice and understanding person. But this job - I just couldn't let it go knowing how unhappy I was leaving that salon- hence why I called the place back and complained to this manager. I have had many balayages in the past and many other hair professionals have been able to achieve my hair goals in one sitting. This place claims they know what they're doing but not only is that wrong, they don't fix their mistakes either. Nothing was offered to me. I even emailed them for compensation and nothing !!!! Just know that if you want to go to a place that sees no fault, isn't upfront, doesn't suggest a consultation before touching your hair- then this is for you. I thought being nice about it prior to this review and explaining things over the phone would prompt some type of empathy and resolution .....would maybe get me somewhere but now I have had to take things to the next level and request my money back and never go there again. This just left such a bad taste in my mouth and I'm appalled at the customer care/ service response. Highly unprofessional in every way possible. Take a look at these photos- there is zero balayage there . They try to compare to their photos which are cropped and filtered. This is daytime... real time- not a single filter. Adding to not only the horrible job and lack of customer service- my hair feels like straw and it feels half as dense after washing it today. She might of well have made me platinum for how it feels now. Where did all my hair go if she was so careful about lightening it? What treatment did she actually give me for it to feel like this? I gave no stars to this shop ,but I had to put one to post this review. This shop didn't do my daughter hair like she ask them to do. Before the service I had called for my daughter an hours before she got there . I had called the shop because my daughter had ask me to check how much was the price will be. I had called and ask how much , if she wanted have her hair light blonde. They said that it would cost $150.00 . She arrived there and it took almost 3 hours for them to have her hair done . She came home and show it to me and she said that they only try to take her old hair colors out and didn't do no high light or nothing . And the bottom part of her hair was light , the middle was red and her roots was still black . Her hair was a deep red/ pink. They had charged her $120 and she tips $10 . She wasn't satisfied with the service and ask me to called them. I had called and left several messages and didn't even call me back . Today 12/29/20 @ 4:30 pm the manager had called me , didn't let me talk . She just keep saying that is my daughter hair and I have no right to called . She wouldn't not let me speak . Very rude . I would never recommend anyone come to this salon. Bad customer services. And owner is very rude!!!! They just want to take people's money and not doing there job right. I can't reccomend this salon enough. My hair is always awesome when I walk out the door. I have a tendency to change my hair from light to dark year around so I'm constantly coloring it.
