I had booked an appointment for shampoo and blow dry as we had family pictures coming up. I arrived about fifteen mins before my appointment time and just waited and enjoyed the very warm and welcoming lobby. Unfortunately my appointment was 20 mins behind schedule. I was in a rush at this point because we had to get to an appointment after as a family and I had not accounted for that. The service itself was fine, I just can't be running late as it was more stressful than me being able to enjoy it. I live down the street thankfully so maybe will have to try again when more time permits for another occasion. read more

I went in for a consultation for extensions. I was initially quoted at $500-$800 for the hair and $100 every 8-10 weeks to move up! I thought sure, that sounds great! That evening, i put a deposit of $50 down and since their system was down, Anna was going to call me the next day to place my order for the extensions. Three days go by, nothing. I called The Studio myself and placed my order after waiting. The order ended up being $832 before taxes. No big deal about the price, i was just upset at the fact that the salon took my money and promised to call me the following day. That night after my order was placed (November 22nd), Anna informed me, the extensions would come in 2-3 days (which would make it November 30th, excluding Thanksgiving) That was also not a big deal, I totally understand trying to place orders during the holidays! Anna said she would call once they arrived. Fast forward two weeks, i still didn't get a call. I called the Studio for an update and the front desk receptionist said Anna was busy and would call me back that day... FOUR days go by and i call back just for Anna to say, "sorry I didn't place your order yet because i wanted to place the order with another persons". Again, i understand that, but why not tell me to begin with? Why not be upfront and tell me, "i place orders with 2-3 people at once?" I do not mind waiting, and i am extremely patient! I just do not like handing someone $900+ to be told "i'll call you in a few days" and WEEKS go by. Finally, December 14th, almost a month after my appointment and ordering extensions, i finally go in for install. The breakdown of the install made zero sense to me as I thought it would be maybe $300? Hidden row 2: $99 Hidden row 1: $225 Root touch : $88 total : $411 To add, Anna then said the move up would be $150 ($50 more than i was quoted) and every 6 weeks (4 weeks sooner than i was also quoted) The root touch made no sense as my roots weren't even grown out. What also made no sense was the fact that my hair is shoulder length and Anna put 18.5 inch extensions in my hair WITHOUT layering them. Complete blunt look. You know how you want people to stop and compliment you on your cute new hair? I got WOAH, your extensions aren't even blended, they look awful. Not to mention, the color was completely off! The extensions were YELLOW, and my hair was blonde... I am at a complete loss for words after i paid over $1,300 for my hair to look like trash, absolute garbage. I went last week to Turning Heads Salon - Kerrie blended and had to color my hair, fixing all the mistakes. Save yourself money, and dignity and go elsewhere for extensions. read more

So if I was only reviewing based on the services I received then it would be 5 stars because Chelsie is a really good stylist, but when thinking on this of the overall experience and value for what I paid, then I would have to downgrade it. I have been here twice, the first time was for corrective color and hair treatments...I had them do everything and with my first time customer discount it was still almost $400 which I was expecting for the cut, color, treatments with their highest level stylist. My hair looked really good...it was one of the best cuts I have had but I have had comparable color at other salons. I didn't feel that this was sustainable and if I wanted to continue going here, I would need to change up a few things. The front desk girls can be a little arrogant in my opinion - I went to book my next appointment and I said I didn't want to do any additional treatments and was told that my stylist would be dictating that and the price. So, needless to say - I was having second thoughts about coming back but I decided to try it out again. The second time, I did say that I didn't want to get everything that i got the first time because the pricing was a bit high and it was not so good. The color was fine, but I looked like a frizzy poodle after diffusing my hair...they didn't even take a picture and my husband did not think it looked good when i got home. The assistant spent most of her time washing my hair and did half the styling. I was still $330 which I don't feel is worth it at all so I wont be going there again. For that pricing which I have not paid when I lived in NYC or California - I expect that type of caliber of salon. A true spa style experience, it is an older building in Hutto and the facilities are not that high end in my opinion. The bathrooms are older and don't have fancy touches like a heated seat or a bidet or real towels and spa style soaps. The shampoo room is also not that great - it is not a separate sound proof room where they play relaxing music and you feel like you are being indulged when getting your hair washed. They don't offer any premium beverages. You don't get a hand massage while you're waiting for your hair to process. These are all things that are at salons that are on that level for charging those prices that I have experienced before....so if they want to charge big city prices then it better be that type of experience that i just described. I wasnt even given a chance to speak with a styist. Went in today to ask if they did color corrections. The receptionist told me I needed an appointment. I explained I was just wanting to talk to someone and show them my hair to see what they thought. Receptionist wanted to know if they had been the original colorist, and I said no. She said she would see if someone could talk to me. She literally went just around the wall, I heard conversation. Her telling someone I didnt have an appointment and hadnt had color done there. Whoever she was speaking to said I needed appointment. REALLY?!? I have to make an appointment just to TALK to someone? So say i do and we dont agree on a hair plan, now Ive wasted your time and my time. And your wasted time costs you money. Such a crazy encounter. read more

I was a chronic salon hopper for YEARS in my 20s. This is no mediocre salon. This is the real deal! I have followed these owners/artists for the last 20+ years, from chair rentals, to booth rentals, to opening their own salon. Regina, handles my nail care while Anna and Kim handle my hair needs. From time to time I may have missed my appointment and thought oh let me stop in at this one by work, or on the way home. I paid the price. Yes, the cheaper price and so did my nails. This is not a "short cut" establishment. If you don't have the time to do it right, you can be rescheduled but what will not happen is a short cut that could compromise the health of your hair or nails. It will be done right the first time with the appropriate amount of time allotted. What I appreciate the most is that if I have a new vision for my hair and they don't think its possible for "my" hair to do what the picture is showing they will let you know the truth about why the cut will or will not work for you at that time. Sometimes they will suggest a plan to achieve that look in the future. I have so much confidence in these ladies and men at the Studio to handle all my hair, nails and facial needs that when I moved away to a near by city, I would drive an hour and a half to have my hair or nails done. I continue to stay committed to The Studio and the staff for my hair/nails and facial needs because they continue to stay committed to meeting my needs in a professional and comfortable environment. This salon doesn't deserve ANY star! My husband just passed away and I was looking for a relaxing day at the salon! This was the most HORRIFIC experience of my life! I went in to get a perm and I was told it would be $115. I had an appointment was left waiting then when one of their TOP hairdressers Chelsea proceeded to do my perm it was a nightmare! They put a drape around me and when I got my hair rinsed I got soaking wet! Then because apparently they never wash their drapes the drape faded my $50 New York City sweatshirt purple! It was white! I wasn't given the correct amount of time with my hair, no timer was set, they just guessed how long they left my solution on! The whole experience was so stressful! Then they spent 10 minutes drying my shirt with blow dryers! After this was all over! The lady at the front desk was rude and was charging me $188! She wouldn't allow me to see the actual bill so I leaned across the counter and saw a $64 charge for a haircut! I Never Got A Haircut! Chelsea told me to come back in a couple of days after the perm relaxed to get it trimmed! Another hairdresser that witnessed this torture came out and said you won't be charged anything for today! Well, they charged me anyway! $188 for a perm that fell out a week later and a ruined $50 sweatshirt that was one of my favorites! Stay as far away from this establishment as you can! So unprofessional and clearly do not clean their equipment! How disgusting! Thank you for your response and yes I did dispute the charge through my bank and you denied it! So please don't act like you tried to refund my money! And I can't understand how you think I would EVER step another foot in your establishment after what I went through when I was there! No Thank You! I just hope no one ever has to endure what I did at your establishment! read more

I have always been treated with kindness and respect. The place is in a historic building which they have fixed up complete with chandeliers. The receptionists always greet me with a smile and an offer for something to drink, be it soda, wine or flavored waters ( even a mimosa at New Years) I love the comradamy amongst the techs...always smiling and helping each other. They take their craft very seriously and attend seminars & conventions to stay on top of current training. I would (and HAVE) recommend The Studio for your skin, hair & nail care. The Studio is one of the best salons I've ever been to. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. It is a very calm relaxing environment. The only service I have used is getting my hair done but I am sure all of the other services from nails to skin are just as great. Regina (my nail tech) gives the most thorough facials, specially formulated to my issues and the Salon carries the latest nail colors and special techniques.
