Obsessed with my new hair! I had an appointment with a different stylist from a different salon, and they canceled on me day of, and I was really hoping to have my hair done before the weekend. I called Flaunt Salon to see if there were any openings and luckily Erin had an opening. I had no idea exactly what I was looking for but the owner Jana spoke with me over the phone and assured me they would figure out what was best for me. I brought in some inspiration photos and Erin gave some suggestions and really listened to what I wanted. The process was extremely tedious and I can imagine it would have been tiring, but she was super focused and took her time! She never rushed and really put in work! Oh my gosh, I LOVE the final outcome. She is the first one to ever give me the color and cut that I had envisioned. I will definitely go back to see her again. Thank you, thank you Erin! Always a great experience here! I love going to Janna especially! She's great to talk to and she's taught me a lot about my hair, but she also doesn't mind if I'm not particularly chatty some days. She has always done great highlights and men's cuts/pixie cuts for me. Not many places can do highlights well in general, much less so on short hair, so finding Janna was a god send tbh. Can't recommend her enough for anyone needing a good stylist, who actually knows what they're doing, because she can not only make you look great, but also teach you how to style everything so you can continue to look good. Her price is higher than chain hair salons, but the high quality practices and great customer service make it worth it. Since I've moved to pflugerville almost 3 years ago I've been looking to find someone close by to get my hair done that I really liked and mesh well with. I hadn't fell in love with the previous places and due to that it had been about a year since it had been done. I did some searching and realized this place is very close to me and I already go to this plaza area. Decided to give it a shot and I am very happy I did! Keely is very friendly and I enjoyed chatting with her :) She took wonderful care of me and my hair. There are some small touches she does such as enclosing the towel on my head after the shampoo were it felt like it was hugging my head. When it came to styling, since I talked about how I got back into curling my hair but I have a hard time not making it look huge after I run my finger through she offered to curl my hair and give tips on how she does it. I wish I could give them a million stars. Janna is amazing in every way possible AH-MAZE-ZIIIING! I came in literally crying because of a botched up hair cut and Janna saved the day. I feel like a million bucks walking out of the salon and I have glorious amounts of confidence now. The salon itself is clean and modern with a touch of comfort. Before any tool is used, it is properly sanitized. I love the hanging blow dryers. There are fixtures hanging above each station and there is a hanging blow dryer for easy use and yet so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Customer Service = Pass with flying colors. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with warm smiles and hellos. Service was professional but yet personal. I felt like I was talking to my sister. Price = spot on. I received a beautiful PROFESSIONAL cut and it didn't break my bank account. Of course it was not a $15 cut because this is not a "chop shop". Service = I couldn't be happier. Janna shampooed, cut and styled my hair. With each step and product, Janna explained what she was doing and why. I also saw the finished product of a color she did on a customer before me and the girl's hair was STUNNING! Jana, the owner, is knowledgeable, but is better at cut than color. She is very much into exercising power and control over her staff, to the point of making a client cringe in her chair. Erin is condescending, does a half-a$$ job and is clearly not knowledge. Worst chair I have ever sat in. If chair-side manner is not important to you, you may be able to overlook these things, but once you settle your bill, be prepared for sticker shock. Prices seem to be decided on a whim. Whatever the base price of the day is, they also add charges for product used during your appointment, which I have never seen as a separate line line item at any salon. If completely unprofessional behavior and Russian roulette pricing is your thing, definitely schedule an appointment. If not, go elsewhere. read more

My partner and I had been seeing Janna for a little over a year. I'm not one to voice my concerns, but take note of them and try to help improve upon them in the future. Many times I'd visit and mention the length I wanted to go down to, but was always told let's do it this way first and then if you want it shorter we can do that. I'm no stylist, but I understand that you can always go shorter, but can't go longer if cut too short. However, after seeing the same stylist for almost a year I would think that there'd be an understanding by the stylist of what my preferences are. If I'm asking for something and I dont like it, that's on me and would not put any blame on the stylist for that. It would be good to listen to what's being asked and doing just that, as opposed to taking it upon yourself to do it your way. In addition, upon my partner and I's last visit he was pushed back by 30 minutes and called and told so in advance. We arrived at the time the appt had gotten pushed back to and sat there for another 30 minutes without any acknowledgement or a simple apology or expectation as to how much longer we might expect to wait and ended up walking out. It doesnt seem as though we are the first to have an issue with timing after reading others reviews. In my opinion, if you have time constraints or can't meet an expectation that you've set it's just common courtesy to let someone know, so that they can decide for themselves what would work best for them. After presenting these concerns we were met with excuses and were called out for supposedly being belligerent. Numerous times when we had issues we would simply keep these to ourselves during that visit, as we knew she had other clients waiting and didnt want to cause her to run behind. Instead, the next time we'd come in we'd let Janna know what it was that we didnt like from the last visit to help ensure we were getting the haircut we wanted. I'm not sure how this could be grounds for calling someone belligerent. I'll have to say that being presented with excuses and the negative comments about our character is not the way Id expect to be treated at any business. As such we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

This is my second review with Flaunt Salon, and this experience DESERVES another! During lockdown I colored my hair a teal color with an all natural, semi- permanent hair color. No big deal right? As it started to fade, I knew I wanted to return to Flaunt Salon for a refresh and hopefully with another blue color. I went to see Erin and we came up with a plan for how to remove the existing color and apply a fresh new blue. My first appointment there was not what anyone expected. The teal would NOT come out. It would have felt like a nightmare, but Erin and the owner Jana were using literal science to do everything they could. They never had issues removing semi perm color before, and were just as shocked in regards to this brand as I. But, nonetheless, they were so kind and I know they did what was best for my hair at the end of that point, but I needed to come back for a second session. My next appointment, I was feeling super discouraged because I knew with the ends having now a green tint on the end, I wouldn't be able to obtain the light blue look I wanted. Erin was extremely professional and worked with me on what my options were and assured me I could get a blue color on my hair...she wasn't going to let me walk out of there until I was pleased. Erin came up with a game plan and Jana was alongside with great insight. I just love how they work together. All in all, I will return to this salon again and again because of their knowledge and patience. Also, THANK YOU to the other staff that was right there helping out during this crazy process. I needed a color correction right away. I had multiple grown out color situations and home tinkering that needed serious professional triage. I found Flaunt on Yelp after looking for a salon with online booking. Keely took on my problem hair with Janna consulting. I was so very impressed by their professionalism and ease with each other and their clients. Keely has been selected to be a part of an artist program with a big, international name in hair care. She told me she enjoys the problem solving, strategy aspect of color correction. My hair problems would have been difficult for any colorist. Keely approached the situation with intelligence and confidence. She talked through what I might hope for the result and what she felt was possible, described the techniques she would use in multiple ways, double checked the color levels and tones for the end result, and gave me a cost estimate for the services and products for me to sign in agreement before we started. I was very happy with the result and booked on the spot with Keely a future appointment. I ran to the grocery store in the same complex afterwards and a woman stopped me in the parking lot to tell me how much she liked my hair. I'm an Austin transplant. Ive been to 10+ salons in the Austin area - some very well known and pricey. Flaunt is easily one of the cleanest I've ever been to, and I very much enjoyed their vibe of extreme competence without pretension. Love this place! I've always wanted my hair permed and Michelle helped me achieve that. I was so satisfied with the service and end result that I decided to go back and get it colored too! Flaunt's reviews passed all my tests. From my initial phone call requesting an appointment with someone who could work with fine thin hair to my departure after my consultation and cut and styling, everything was great. Janna took time to listen to me, look at photos, and answer questions. She gave pros and cons of different style choices and we came to an agreement. I am very happy with the result and Janna also took time to share tips so that I have a chance of replicating her results . I have already made a second appointment and think I have found my new "hair home". Final note: after leaving I realized that I had a flat tire. Waiting for AAA, I had to be out in the cold windy weather. MAKE.THE.APPOINTMENT. I cannot stress enough how absolutely superior this place is in every way to everywhere else. I feel like I've been on a decade long search for 'my' hair place. Lots of money, lots of unmet expectations and disappointment to the point where I literally just thought that's how it had to be so I only got my hair done like once a year bc I dreaded being severely underwhelmed every single time. I went to a place I'd been to before in October and rolled the dice on whoever could see me bc I felt like what did it really matter at this point bc I knew I'd never love it lol. Only it turned out even worse than I'd expected. She did a free correction the following day but the toner could only do so much and it was so bad that after about a month of this awful brassy color, I committed the ultimate cardinal sin of trying to cover it with a box color needless to say, these Flaunt goddesses had their work cut out for them and boy did they knock it out of the park. I did a lot of research on where to go this time bc I knew it would take MASTERS to undo the foil highlight disaster plus box color on top of that and I didn't want to stress my poor hair out anymore. I wanted to cry and hug them hard today before leaving. The reviews are right in that they literally change lives. This is the first day I've felt like I looked nice since October. They literally listen to you and ask questions to really UNDERSTAND what it is you're wanting and to make sure you're on the same page, then come up with an expert plan and then explain everything to you. They take their time, they absolutely deliver. Above and beyond. And they just work together like a well-oiled machine.
